Prolific genre actor Devanny Pinn is making her feature directorial debut with Black Mass, a serial killer thriller set in the 1970s

Devanny Pinn has almost 90 screen acting credits to her name, with many of those credits being for roles she has played in horror film. Now The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that Pinn is making her feature directorial debut with a thriller of her own, a 1970s serial killer tale called Black Mass, which started filming in Los Angeles last Friday.

Inspired by real events, Black Mass is set over a 24-hour period in Florida during the winter of 1978 when college girls were being stalked by a serial killer. Eric Pereira and Brandon Slagle wrote the screenplay.

Pinn has assembled a cool cast for the film, and some of the names will be very familiar to fans of the horror genre. Cast members include Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Jeremy London (Mallrats), Lisa Wilcox (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master), Michelle Romano (Escape From Ensenada), Kathleen Kinmont (Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers), Eva Hamilton (Mutilator 2), Chelsea Gilson (The Wrong Cheer Captain), Jenny Wenger (Battle for Saipan), Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist), Andrew Sykes (Suburbicon), Jennifer Lynn Warren (American Horror Story), and Susan Lanier (Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes).

Black Mass is being produced by Pinn’s Jaguar Motion Pictures and Roman Media for Cleopatra Entertainment. Slagle serves as executive producer alongside Brian Perera, Yvonne Perera, Gigi Jankowski, and Miranda Mariposa. Tim Yasui is co-producer, and Lanier is an associate producer, as is Anjanette Miller.

Pinn provided the following statement: “I’m grateful to Cleopatra for giving me the opportunity to direct my first feature with them. They continue to be supportive of me and independent art.

I think it’s awesome that Pinn is making her feature directorial debut, and Black Mass sounds very interesting to me. I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s going to turn out – and to seeing those cast members in a story like this.
