20th Century Studios is ready to share a look at its hilarious Quiz Lady trailer, starring Awkwafina (The FarewellMigrationShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Sandra Oh (Killing EveUnder the Tuscan SunGrey’s Anatomy) as two sisters determined to raise enough money to pay their missing mother’s debt and recover their dog. Quiz Lady will premiere on November 3, 2023, exclusively on Disney+ in Canada. The original film will premiere at the 48th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, September 9.

When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion. The movie, which also stars Jason Schwartzman, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale, and Will Ferrell, is directed by Jessica Yu, written by Jen D’Angelo, and produced by Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, Maggie Haskins, Itay Reiss, Jen D’Angelo, Awkwafina, and Sandra Oh, with Alex Brown and Erika Hampson serving as executive producers.

As the duo travels across the open road toward their destination, they run afoul of road rage, nervous sweats, dog nappers, and nosy onlookers who think the girls have cocaine. With time running out, Anne and Jenny need to pick up the pace and win the pot if their mother is going to return home safe and sound.

Additionally, the team donated clothing and shoes and assisted at an elementary school, where they:

Rivers are Life Premieres ‘Study Aboard’ Highlighting Mississippi River Clean Up Efforts & Education

Today, Rivers are Life premiered its latest film highlighting the work of Memphis-based River Hero Chad Pregracke and his organization, Living Lands & Waters. The documentary, titled "Study Aboard," centers on Chad and his mission to protect the Mississippi River and beyond while empowering students to change the world.

Chad Pregracke grew up in Illinois with the Mississippi River as his backyard. As the son of two educators and river enthusiasts, Chad spent the majority of his childhood on, in and around the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. After years of working on the Mississippi River as a clam diver, commercial fisherman, and barge hand, he became appalled by the amount of garbage in the river and decided that if no one else was going to do something about it, he would. At the age of 23, Pregracke founded Living Lands & Waters, an organization dedicated to keeping rivers clean and safe.

"Study Aboard" tells the story of Living Lands & Waters' "Alternative Spring Break" trips. Each year, Chad and his crew host college students on their workboats in Memphis, Tennessee. Students from all over the country spend a week in a floating classroom and living quarters on Lake McKeller, collecting trash before it flows into the Mississippi River. The trash is then brought to their barge, where it piles up and creates an impactful visual intended to move locals to realize the magnitude of the problem. Finally, the trash is recycled at a local recycling operation. These "Alternative Spring Breaks" show students firsthand the issues facing our rivers, while inspiring them and local residents to act now to protect them.

"If everybody had a cause, the world would be a better place," Pregracke tells students. "You can make a difference, and hard work will pay off in the long run. All you need to do is change your world. That's how the world changes." 

To date, Living Lands & Waters has educated 11,386 college students from all over the country. Beyond "Alternative Spring Breaks," the organization has worked on 25 rivers in 21 states and has hosted 1,326 community-based cleanups. Spending up to nine months a year living and traveling on the barge, the Living Lands & Waters crew hosts countless river cleanups, watershed conservation initiatives, workshops, tree plantings and other key conservation efforts. They collect 100,000 pounds of trash each year, with a total of 13,000,000 pounds of trash removed to date.

Blumhouse Productions has introduced their new slasher the Sweet 16 Killer with a new image from and promo for Totally Killer

In addition to working with slasher icon Michael Myers on the three most recent Halloween movies, Blumhouse Productions has introduced audiences to maniacs like The Grabber from The Black Phone, The Butcher from Freaky, Babyface from Happy Death Day, Lady Liberty from The Purge: Election Year, Pooka from Into the Dark: Pooka! Next up from them is the Sweet 16 Killer, the masked murderer that will be featured in the time travel slasher comedy Totally Killer, which is scheduled to begin streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video on October 6th. With that date just a month away, they have given us an early introduction to the Sweet 16 Killer with a newly unveiled image and a promo video, both of which can be seen at the bottom of this article.

Nahnatchka Khan (Always Be My Maybe) directed Totally Killer from a screenplay by Hocus Pocus 2 writer Jen D’Angelo, based on an original script by David Matalon (The Clearing) and Sasha Perl-Raver (Let’s Get Merried). The story follows Jamie (Shipka) whose mom, Pam, is terrorized by the resurgence of the Sweet Sixteen Killer — a masked maniac that slaughtered a group of teenage girls in the ‘80s. With the help of her friend Amelia, Jamie travels back in time to 1987 and teams up with the teen version of her mom (Holt) to try and stop the killer.

Khan and Chloe Yellin executive produce for Fierce Baby Productions, and Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold are executive producing for Blumhouse Television. Brian Parker is also an executive producer on the film, which has been rated R for “bloody violence, language, sexual material, and teen drug/alcohol use“.

Roku will be removing Most Dangerous Game starring Christoph Waltz from its service as well as a handful of other shows.

We’ve seen multiple streaming companies remove titles from their service over the last year in a bid to save money, and Deadline has reported that Roku has joined them. The outlet reports that Roku has begun removing a handful of titles from their service, including Most Dangerous Game starring Christoph Waltz.

Most Dangerous Game began life as a Quibi Original (remember that mess?) before it was salvaged by Roku, who renewed the series for a second season. After learning that he will soon die from a terminal illness and desperate to provide for his pregnant wife, Dodge Maynard (Liam Hemsworth) accepts an invitation from a mysterious man (Christoph Waltz) to participate in a deadly game of survival. Each hour Dodge survives will earn him more money, for a total of $24.5 million if he survives the full 24 hours.

Christoph Waltz returned for the second season of the series, which turned the focus to Victor Suero (David Castañeda), a down-on-his-luck fighter who will do anything to protect his sister when he learns she’s in trouble. To protect her, he agrees to participate in a deadly game. If he survives, he’ll make a fortune.

In addition to Most Dangerous Game, Roku is also removing Slip, a comedy series created by and starring Zoe Lister-Jones. The series follows Mae Cannon, a 30-something who goes on a fantastical journey through parallel universes as she attempts to find her way back to her partner and herself.
