Iron Palm Tattoos Shatters Guinness World Record With Synthetic Skin Tattoo Honoring the Late Rapper Takeoff
On July 6, Iron Palm Tattoos & Body Piercing and Senior Artist JR Outlaw Accepted a Guinness World Record Award for the Largest Memorial Tattoo in the World

Iron Palm Tattoos, JR Outlaw, and Atlanta Ink Shatter Guinness World Record for Largest Tattoo

7 meter\u00b2 (7ft X 12ft) tattoo commissioned by Iron Palm Tattoos and Atlanta Ink shatters Guinness Book of World Records. Senior artist JR Outlaw tattooed the project on a handmade silicone skin canvas. The faux skin was made by the trio.

Iron Palm Tattoos & Body Piercing collaborated with Atlanta Ink to create the largest known synthetic skin tattoo in the world and the ultimate tribute to late rapper and musician Takeoff. Kirsnick Khari Ball, aka Takeoff, was a member of the two-time Grammy-winning music trio Migos along with Atlanta natives Quavo and Offset. JR Outlaw, senior artist at Iron Palm, designed and tattooed the electrifying creative.

Humble Beginnings:

The project began with a simple conversation between Iron Palm owner Marlon Blake and Atlanta Ink owner Christian Verrette. They believed a record-breaking tattoo could be inked on homemade synthetic skin normally used for practice. Deciding to move forward, the next step was finding someone skilled enough to ink the project. The answer: Iron Palm's own JR Outlaw.

Research, Development & Creating the Tech:

Making the skin was an arduous task. Likewise, the silicone tattoo skin had to be hand-mixed and perfectly set. Justin Thomas, who owns 3D-printing silicone company Mr4gx, agreed to help make the skin. Blake, together with Verrette, assisted Thomas until they discovered a perfect recipe for making the faux skin canvas. Previously made samples had imperfections, tears, and bubbles, making them unsuitable. Over $30,000 of silicone material was exhausted during the R&D of the meters-large tattoo skin recipe.

Finishing the Tattoo:

After the silicone tattoo canvas was molded, the work of framing and coloring the artwork began. Accordingly, Outlaw framed, stenciled, and tattooed the 7.395 m² (7' X 12') giant artwork on the handmade canvas. The completed tattoo project took months to finish. Later, Guinness World Record adjudicator Michael Empric measured the giant tattoo and declared it a record breaker. Iron Palm Tattoos' relentless pursuit of excellence had resulted in a dynamic and unforgettable creation that transcends boundaries of traditional body art.

When asked why he chose Takeoff, Outlaw said, "I just want people to reflect on him as a person and his legacy in music and in the city."

The creators want to move the artwork to a well-known museum or gallery pending sale. A portion of proceeds from the sale will go to the Donate Your Junk electronics campaign benefiting those needing modern electronics in developing countries.

About Iron Palm Tattoos:

Iron Palm is the best-known and most-reviewed multi-style tattoo shop in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Undeniably Atlanta's only late-night tattoo shop, it is open 1 p.m.-2 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

Peregrine Health Services Launches with Leading Experts in Emergency Department, Trauma Center Management

Peregrine Health Services Launches with Leading Experts in Emergency Department, Trauma Center Management
Consultancy has established track record of working with healthcare organizations to improve processes, efficiency, quality of care.

Peregrine Health Services, LLC, a team of nationally recognized nurse leaders with a proven track record of optimizing emergency department and trauma center performance, has launched as an independent consulting firm after its emergence from healthcare technology leader Philips.

Peregrine's experts provide facilitation in implementing best practices that lead to improved operational, clinical and financial performance. They also assist healthcare organizations during executive transitions by providing department leadership and hands-on operational support, as well as Peregrine's trademark guidance in process and performance improvement.

While Peregrine officially launched in early 2023, its roots in healthcare improvement date to 2006 with the creation of Blue Jay Consulting, which built a reputation for excellence in quality implementation and leadership services for emergency departments. Philips Healthcare Transformation Services acquired Blue Jay Consulting in 2015, expanding its resources and capabilities and building the core of the now-independent Peregrine Health Services.

"The Peregrine team has been helping healthcare organizations achieve excellence for more than a decade and has a demonstrated history of working with emergency departments and trauma centers to implement true, sustainable change," said Mark Feinberg, CEO and managing partner of Peregrine Health Systems.

"Our advisors are not just consultants reading from a playbook. They are nurse leaders who have worked in and directed emergency departments and trauma programs," Feinberg said. "They know every organization is different and respect those differences. They carefully assess each client as a unique case, develop improvement recommendations, and work hands-on with the facility's leadership and staff to help them achieve peak efficiency, quality of care and patient and staff experience."

Peregrine's core advisory team is JoAnn Lazarus, senior vice president of training and development, and Angela Chisolm and Beth Fuller, managing partners. All have extensive experience in their respective fields and are the recipients of some of the highest honors and recognitions in the nursing profession.

Lazarus oversees training and development of client leadership and staff for Peregrine. She previously was a principal and lead for emergency department operations consulting for Philips Healthcare Transformation Services, responsible for workflow optimization and interim leadership solutions. She held a similar position, vice president for emergency services, at Blue Jay Consulting before its acquisition by Philips. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Nursing, a Certified Emergency Nurse, Past President of the Emergency Nurses Association and has a master's degree in nursing.

Chisolm heads Peregrine's Trauma Consulting Services group. She held a similar role for the Philips consultancy division and previously served as a division assistant vice president overseeing trauma services for HCA Healthcare's East and West Florida divisions, where she was responsible for six trauma centers and led advancement of a Level II trauma center to Level I and to American College of Surgeons verification. She served as vice president of the Trauma Center Association of America, is a certified Trauma Certified Registered Nurse and Certified Flight Registered Nurse, and has an MBA in healthcare management.

Fuller heads Peregrine's Emergency Consulting Services group. She was a principal with the Philips leadership team, consulting on emergency department optimization, and held a similar role with Blue Jay Consulting before its acquisition by Philips. Previously, Fuller directed trauma centers and emergency medical services at two hospitals and worked as a critical care flight nurse. She has a bachelor's degree in nursing, a master's degree in critical care and trauma nursing, and a doctorate in nursing practice and executive leadership. Her certifications include certified Critical Care Registered Nurse, Certified Flight Registered Nurse, Certified Emergency Nurse, and Nurse Executive, Advanced Certification.

"With our team's vast expertise and commitment to improving emergency and trauma care, Peregrine Health Services is uniquely qualified to help organizations streamline operations and enhance financial performance while simultaneously achieving clinical excellence," Feinberg said. "We help you achieve lasting, effective change that improves processes, people and the entire organization."

VidaTalk’s Talk-to-Translate Feature Will Have a Transformative Impact on Hospitalized Patients With Language Barriers

VidaTalk’s Talk-to-Translate Feature Will Have a Transformative Impact on Hospitalized Patients With Language Barriers
Achieving the standard of care, no matter the language or disability.

Vidatak is proud to announce the latest feature, Talk-to-Translate, has just been added to VidaTalk to better ensure providers can deliver equitable care to patients with communication barriers and disabilities on a 24/7 basis.

VidaTalk is a first-in-kind, multilingual, point-of-care communication solution for patients with speech, hearing and language barriers. This customizable app for patients and providers includes picture-option communication selections that generate bilingual text and audio output when selections are made across 40 language profiles, relaxation videos, therapeutic restorative music, video and audio interpreter access, talk-to-text, and now, talk-to-translate. The new talk-to-translate feature released today ensures that even under the rarest circumstances, patients and providers will be able to understand one another.

Language barriers pose significant challenges in healthcare where effective and timely communication is vital. While in-person and remote video and telephonic interpreter services provide this essential service as the standard of care, they simply are not always feasible or available with every patient encounter, especially for languages spoken with lower frequency.

With delayed or absent access to interpreters, providers find themselves unable to communicate with or understand their patients. This communication gap exposes patients to significant risk of harm, misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, and delayed or absent treatment. While for complex conversations, such as discharge instructions, Google Translate has been shown to be unreliable, in certain circumstances, it may be necessary.

"As VidaTalk continues to harness the technologies that drive equitable experiences for vulnerable patient populations, it is essential for hospitals to consider what their standard of care actually delivers with respect to a real-time multilingual experience and a human-centered approach to care." - Dr. Patak, CEO of Vidatak

Vidatak's Chief Experience Officer, Lisa Spencer, shares a personal experience she had with a loved one: "My family member could not communicate his needs and symptoms. It was frustrating and heartbreaking for everyone. I'm not alone. Every hospital is caring for patients with speech, hearing and language barriers. For patients that don't speak the same language as their caregivers, using certified interpreters is the gold standard; but, when no one with language services is available, patients still need to communicate. That's why I'm so excited that VidaTalk now has this new talk-to-translate feature. No one deserves to suffer or be in pain for hours, or even an entire weekend, simply because an interpreter can't be reached."

By ensuring that multilingual communication can occur in real time at the point of care, VidaTalk validates the highest standard of care, establishing a mechanism for effective communication for patients who have speech, hearing or language barriers. This vital connection can alleviate patient distress, enhance trust, and contribute to a more positive healthcare experience. When patients feel understood and supported, they are more likely to actively engage in their own healthcare journey, leading to better compliance, faster recovery, and enhanced overall well-being.

VidaTalk has revolutionized the healthcare experience for hospitalized patients who cannot speak, cannot hear, or have limited English proficiency. "As VidaTalk continues to harness the technologies that drive equitable experiences for vulnerable patient populations, it is essential for hospitals to consider what their standard of care actually delivers with respect to a real-time multilingual experience and a human-centered approach to care," states Dr. Patak, CEO of Vidatak.

Sharknado: Syfy celebrates 10th anniversary with all-day marathon

Sharknado: Syfy celebrates 10th anniversary with all-day marathon

Syfy will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Sharknado with an all-day marathon of all six Sharknado movies

Somehow ten years have already passed since the first Sharknado made its way out into the world – and as if being featured on legendary movie host Joe Bob Briggs’ Shudder series The Last Drive-In recently wasn’t already enough of an honor, Syfy has now announced they’ll be celebrating the tenth anniversary of Sharknado with an all-day Sharknado movie marathon!

Ten years ago, a global phenomenon swept the country with the birth of the greatest franchise about sharks and tornadoes that ever existed. Starring Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, Sharknado follows a group of friends who try to save the world from theses deadly storms chomping through the skies. SYFY presents an all-day Sharknado movie marathon in celebration of the cult-classic’s 10th anniversary. Revisit fin-tastic stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, along with guest stars Vivica A. Fox, Marc McGrath, Olivia Newton-John, and more.

The marathon is set to begin at 12pm Eastern and Pacific on Tuesday, July 18th. At first, the movies will be presented in reverse order. I’m not sure why channels like to do that sometimes, but they do it quite often. Then the movies will be presented in the proper order for the second half of the marathon. Here’s the line-up:

12 p.m. ET/PT, SHARKNADO: THE 4TH AWAKENS

2 p.m. ET/PT, SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO!

4 p.m. ET/PT, SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE

6 p.m. ET/PT, SHARKNADO

8 p.m. ET/PT, SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE (Repeat)

10 p.m. ET/PT, SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO! (Repeat)

12 a.m. ET/PT, SHARKNADO: THE 4TH AWAKENS (Repeat)

2 a.m. ET/PT, SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING

4 a.m. ET/PT, THE LAST SHARKNADO: IT’S ABOUT TIME

Are you a Sharknado fan, and will you be tuning in for this marathon? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

I have seen the first Sharknado a couple times and have never gotten much out of it. I attempted to watch Sharknado 2: The Second One and that didn’t go well, so I’ve never seen any of the other sequels… but I might just have to indulge in a Sharknado marathon one of these days to see what I’ve been missing out on. If not next Tuesday, maybe I’ll have a marathon at some other point down the line.

Patrick Wilson thinks audiences weren’t ready for Zack Snyder’s Watchmen

Patrick Wilson thinks audiences weren’t ready for Zack Snyder’s Watchmen

Patrick Wilson thinks audiences weren’t ready for Zack Snyder’s Watchmen and reveals it’s the only film of his he’s watched since its debut.

Hollywood had tried to get Watchmen to the big screen for decades, but the acclaimed graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons proved notoriously difficult to adapt. After years in development hell and a revolving door of directors, Zack Snyder successfully brought Watchmen to life. Despite its passionate fan base, Watchmen was polarizing and under-performed at the box office, leading Patrick Wilson to wonder if audiences weren’t ready for it.

Patrick Wilson recently spoke with CinemaBlend about Insidious: The Red Door and touched upon Watchmen, which he said is the only movie of his that he’s watched “front to back” since it debuted. “I wanted to look at it as an older guy, as a filmmaker,” Wilson said. “I knew Zack was ahead of the curve, y’know, it’s weird to say that audiences weren’t ready for it, but you need a movie like that. You need movies to go so dark, so then Avengers can go so light. Bur yeah, I love that movie.. I mean, I’d love to do that movie now.

While Watchmen may have under-performed at the box office, grossing $185 million worldwide against a budget between $130-138 million, it enjoyed a second life on home-media. Zack Snyder released a director’s cut of the movie with roughly 24 minutes of additional footage, as well as an animated adaptation of the Tales of the Black Freighter comic within the story featuring Gerard Butler. The last release was an “Ultimate Cut” edition incorporating Tales of the Black Freighter throughout the live-action movie.

Patrick Wilson recently returned for Insidious: The Red Door, which he also directed. The horror sequel serves as “final chapter of the Lambert family’s terrifying saga. To put their demons to rest once and for all, Josh (Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go deeper into The Further than ever before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors that lurk behind the red door.Insidious: The Red Door is now playing in theaters, so be sure to check out a review from our own Tyler Nichols right here.

In Support of Dry Eye Awareness Month, Bruder Healthcare Recommends Three-Part Solution for Dry Eyes
Hygiene, heat and hydration, common-sense approaches to managing dry eye

Bruder Healthcare

With 16 million Americans suffering from Dry Eye Disease and an estimated 50 million experiencing dry eye symptoms, Bruder Healthcare applauds the National Society to Prevent Blindness in its awareness building efforts and declaration of July as Dry Eye Month. As a leading provider in the dry eye space with a yearlong focus on dry eye, Bruder has developed a three-part solution to help alleviate symptoms of the disease: hygiene, heat, and hydration. Eye care professionals and scientific research have supported these techniques, as preventive and diagnostic measures.

"Just as the public practices dental health regularly between visits to the dentist, it's important to practice this eye health trio between visits to the eye doctor, to help ward off dry eye disease," said Sharon Burkart, Senior Director, Marketing Communications at Bruder Healthcare.

Dry eye disease happens when eyes don't produce enough tears to stay wet, or when tears don't work correctly. People with dry eyes may experience irritation in the form of gritty, itchy, or burning eyes, a feeling of something in the eyes, a sensitivity to light, and/or blurred vision.

"Hygiene, heat and hydration are common-sense approaches to managing dry eye," said Dr. Joshua Davidson OD, FAAO, FSLS. Incorporate hygiene into a regular routine by cleaning debris and exfoliating the eyelid skin with Bruder Hygienic Eyelid Cleaning Wipes and reducing eyelid bacteria with Bruder Hygienic Eyelid Solution (contains 0.02% hypochlorous acid). Use the soothing effects of heat by warming the eyelids to get crucial fluids flowing from the lid's meibomian glands through the #1 doctor recommended Bruder Moist Heat Eye Compress. Its patented MediBeads keep the moist heat constant and two pod design provides a better fit. Keep eyes moist through whole body hydration with Dry Eye Drink by Bruder, originally founded by Davidson. Its special formulation for eye health replenishes moisture through electrolytes, calms irritation with anti-inflammatories, and nourishes with vitamins proven beneficial to eye health.

Blue Beetle star Xolo Maridueña says James Gunn enjoyed the movie

Blue Beetle star Xolo Maridueña says James Gunn enjoyed the movie

Blue Beetle star Xolo Maridueña says that DC Studios co-head James Gunn has seen the movie and enjoyed it.

Before the new DC Universe officially kicks off with Superman: Legacy, we still have two films that were developed under the old DCEU to go — Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Blue Beetle. The Aquaman sequel won’t be released until December, but Blue Beetle will be hitting theaters next month, and star Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai) told Total Film that it has gotten the seal of approval from James Gunn himself.

I just remember James Gunn has this really excited energy to him all the time,” Xolo Maridueña said. “But them coming into this position of the movie already being made, and then being like, ‘All right [mimes rifling through a filing cabinet as if rummaging through the movie], let’s see what we have here’ – it was very rewarding for them to actually respond well to it and enjoy it. They had their notes here and there story-wise, but I think, in capturing the essence of Jaime and the Reyes family, [they] think we did a really great job.” While Superman: Legacy will be the first movie in the DCU, James Gunn has said that Blue Beetle is the first DCU character.

In addition to Xolo Maridueña, Blue Beetle also stars Adriana Barraza (Rambo: Last Blood) as Jaime’s grandmother, Nana, Damían Alcázar (Narcos: Mexico) as his father, Elpidia Carrillo (Mayans M.C.) as his mother, Bruna Marquezine (God Save the King) as Jenny Kord, Raoul Max Trujillo (Sicario) as Carapax, with Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking) as Victoria Kord, and George Lopez (Rio) as Jaime’s Uncle Rudy. The film also stars Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories) as Jaime’s sister, Milagro, and Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) as Dr. Sanchez. Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings) directed Blue Beetle from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Miss Bala).

The remnants of the previous DC franchise haven’t done all that well at the box office, but Xolo Maridueña has said that Blue Beetle could spawn a franchise in the DCU, it just depends on how the movie performs. “If we get one movie or a trilogy and f**king fold this into the Justice League shit, we’re ready for the whole nine,” Maridueña said. “For me and Angel [Manuel Soto, director] and the team, we kicked ass with this movie. It just depends on numbers.

Blue Beetle will hit theaters on August 18th.

Baptist Health Partners With MediLedger to Ensure Correct Pricing via Contract Management

Baptist Health Partners With MediLedger to Ensure Correct Pricing via Contract Management

Baptist Health, Kentucky's largest health system, has announced a partnership with Chronicled's MediLedger to pioneer a new era of contract management within healthcare.

Baptist Health is the inaugural hospital system to utilize MediLedger's groundbreaking blockchain technology solution to ensure pharmaceuticals bought by the nine-hospital system are correctly priced.

"With more than 400 locations that purchase pharmaceuticals, and over 40,000 pharmaceuticals available for purchase on each of those accounts, Baptist Health was looking for a turnkey solution to smooth the lines of communication and ensure we receive the correct negotiated contracted prices for pharmaceutical products in a timely fashion," said Thomas Matanich, system director of pharmacy contract management for Baptist Health.

Matanich said the current process is cumbersome, opaque, and often resulted in lengthy claims reprocessing work, creating cash flow issues.

"The industry needed a real-time environment for all parties to partner and eliminate costs associated with claims rework," Matanich added, "Mediledger and blockchain technology will allow us to collaborate in real-time with the Premier group purchasing organization, manufacturers, and wholesalers to identify price discrepancies at the beginning of the purchasing process, addressing any potential pricing discrepancy before a purchase is made and subsequent claims rework required."

MediLedger's platform transforms the traditional approach to managing contracts, proactively identifying discrepancies and automating alignment between trading partners and customers. With MediLedger, contracts among group purchasing organizations, manufacturers, wholesalers, and health systems such as Baptist Health are synchronized, maintaining accurate pricing across all sites. This pricing transparency, coupled with the ability to publish rosters directly to all parties involved, ensures up-to-date and accurate information sharing, leading to more informed decision-making.

"Our partnership with MediLedger reflects our commitment to innovation and operational excellence," said Nilesh Desai, Baptist Health's Chief Pharmacy Officer. "Their blockchain solution will enable us to streamline processes, improve service delivery, and play an even more significant role in contract negotiations and pricing processes which, in turn, will have a positive impact on patient cost and care."

The decision to partner with MediLedger reinforces Baptist Health's commitment to enhanced transparency with resulting optimized revenue, improved cash flow, and increased influence and decision-making power within the industry.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Baptist Health, a true trailblazer in the healthcare sector," added Vinod Lakhani, CEO of MediLedger. "Their dedication to innovation aligns with our vision at MediLedger and we are excited to support Baptist Health as they continue to shape the future of healthcare. Adding hospital systems to MediLedger network will expand the value of the network to all its participants. We are confident that Baptist Health's participation in the MediLedger network will help to accelerate the adoption of the MediLedger network in the life sciences sector. Together, we can help to make transactions more efficient and transparent for the life science industry."

Curiteva Announces World’s First 3D Printed PEEK Device With Regulatory Clearance Reaches Full Commercial Launch in the United States
The company pioneered and received clearance earlier this year on the world's first 3D printed, fully interconnected porous PEEK interbody.

Curiteva, a privately held technology and manufacturing company based in Huntsville, AL announces the commercial launch of its Inspire Porous PEEK HAFUSE Cervical Interbody System.

The company pioneered and received clearance earlier this year on the world's first 3D printed, fully interconnected porous PEEK interbody. This extraordinary advancement in additive manufacturing of polymers creates a new classification of interbody fusion devices with optimal characteristics for bony healing.

"We are very pleased with the positive surgeon feedback we received during our limited release in April. Now with full commercialization, the team is excited to see continued adoption of our novel 3D printed porous PEEK implant with HAFUSE Technology," stated Mark Mohlman, EVP. "This launch is just the beginning as we continue to develop our additional lumbar portfolio scheduled for launch in 2024."

The Inspire platform is manufactured with a proprietary, patented Fused Filament Fabrication 3D printer designed, programmed, and built by Curiteva. This ground-breaking additive process produces a fully interconnected and integrated porous structure traversing the entire implant to promote osseointegration, improve radiographic assessment, and deliver superior biomechanics. The first-to-market combination of the HAFUSE nanotechnology surface treatment and novel porous PEEK structure creates a hydrophilic, bioactive environment for cell attachment, proliferation, and healing in pre-clinical animal and in vitro studies.

"Curiteva received FDA clearance in February, initiated our alpha release in April and scaled to a commercial launch in July. I am proud of the entire Curiteva team for another milestone achievement and grateful to our surgeons and distributors for their patience and support," commented CEO Mike English.

The Inspire technology will be featured at the NASS meeting later this year.

Curiteva is a privately held technology and manufacturing company dedicated to advancing spine surgery and improving clinical outcomes by partnering with providers and suppliers to deliver innovative and intuitive implant systems to the market. Our business is founded on a commitment to building world-class manufacturing, accelerating research and development, maintaining lean operational discipline, and delivering novel technology to meet the evolving needs of our customers and the patients they serve.
