You have a lot to think about, like the average cost of renting a moving truck, where you will get the boxes to pack up your things, and whether you can get some friends or family members to help you.

The Company's Reputation

The first thing you should look into when considering hiring a moving company is its reputation. Consider how you found out about them. Did you hear some random person mention them, or did you get a recommendation through a more reputable source?

Look at their website. They should have one since virtually all modern companies do. The site should be easy to navigate and have plenty of professional-quality pictures and videos. It should be easy to interact with and have a list of the company's prices and services that you can find without any difficulty.

Look at the company's Google Business listing as well. They should have one, and it should have lots of positive customer reviews.

If you see negative customer feedback, the website looks clumsily thrown together, or they don't have a website at all, you can consider all of those major red flags.

If a moving company gives you a price quote without asking you for a detailed description of what they will be moving, that's a bad sign as well. Moving companies usually figure out how much they will charge you based on a detailed breakdown of how much furniture they will be moving, how many boxes, and so forth.

If they quote you a price without quizzing you on what they'll be moving for you or without stopping by your current residence to look for themselves, there's probably something strange going on. Moving companies should give you a quote based on the weight of your belongings and how far you need the company to move them.

The average moving company will charge you nothing upfront. If a company requests any kind of cash deposit or wants you to pay the entire amount before delivery, you should immediately back out and go with a different moving entity.

If you pay upfront, you have no bargaining power. If everything that you have arrives broken, or some of it never shows up, you can't withhold the money because you've paid the company already. You're taking away all of your bargaining power.

Proceed Cautiously With Moving Companies

You can usually find plenty of reputable moving companies in your area, but there are often just as many with poor reputations. If the company you find demands any money upfront, you should refuse and go with someone else. If they give you a flat-rate quote without seeing what you want to be moved or asking about it, that's also a sign that something is wrong.

If you look into a moving company and see that they don't have a website or that their site seems hastily thrown together and is difficult to navigate, that should also put you on your guard. If they have no Google Business listing or you see lots of negative online feedback, you should probably back out and find another option.

If you go into the moving process cautiously and with your eyes wide open, you should do fine.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is finally playing in theaters, so let us know what you thought of the finale to James Gunn’s trilogy.

It’s been a long road, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 has finally arrived in theaters. After James Gunn was fired from the project by Disney, it seemed as though the project might not happen, but the Guardians of the Galaxy cast came out in support of their director and Gunn was able to return to complete his trilogy. The film has gotten off to a good start at the box-office, taking in $17.5 million in Thursday night previews.

The latest installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise finds our beloved band of misfits settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. James Gunn wrote and directed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, which which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova

Blade delayed by Marvel Studios due to writers strike

Marvel Studios has delayed Blade due to the writers strike, just weeks before production was set to begin in Atlanta.

Marvel Studios was set to begin production on Blade next month in Atlanta, but THR has reported that the project has been delayed due to the ongoing writers strike.

Cast and crew members on Blade are being informed of the delay this afternoon, with production set to restart once the writers strike is over. Marvel recently hired True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto to work on the script. Pizzolatto had reportedly been working off the existing script by Michael Starrbury (When They See Us) for several weeks, but an insider told THR that “time simply ran out.“

Marvel movies typically involve a lot of story changes during production, so the studio likely didn’t feel confident enough to start shooting Blade with the existing script. Although Marvel has delayed Blade, they do have several projects currently shooting, including Captain America: New World Order, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and Wonder Man. In the case of the Captain America sequel, a rival production executive theorized to THR that Marvel may just shoot what they can, “then wait for the reshoots.” Marvel movies always plan on reshoots, but if the strike lasts a particularly long time, those reshoots may have to wait a while. Deadpool 3 is slated to start shooting later this month in London, with Thunderbolts eyeing a June start date. It remains to be seen if these projects will stay on track.

Yann Demange (White Boy Rick) is set to direct Blade for Marvel. In addition to Mahershala Ali, Blade will also star Delroy Lindo and Mia Goth. The character of Blade was originally created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan for The Tomb of Dracula #10 in 1973. Blade is a half-mortal, half-immortal who hunts vampires in order to avenge his mother, who was killed by a vampire as she gave birth to him. Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) was originally attached to direct Blade, but he wound up stepping down last year, leaving Marvel to push pause on pre-production while they searched for a replacement.

Blade is slated for a September 6, 2024 release, but that could change depending on how long the writers strike lasts.

Warner Bros. drops a trio of new posters for The Flash, featuring worlds colliding between Batman, Superman, and the scarlet speedster.

After months of hype, including DC Studios head James Gunn claiming that it’s “probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made,” The Flash is nearly upon us. The DC movie will hit theaters next month and Warner Bros. have released a trio a new posters for The Flash for your viewing pleasure. You can check out the new Flash posters below.

The new Flash posters feature the main trio, which includes Micheal Keaton as Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and Ezra Miller as the scarlet speedster. The first screening of The Flash took place at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last month and our own Chris Bumbray was in attendance. “Believe the hype folks – truly one of the great superhero movies,” Bumbray wrote in his first reaction. “Ezra Miller (x2), Sasha Calle and MICHAEL KEATON. While I’m definitely looking forward to The Flash, I’ve been trying to keep my expectations in check. It feels like the hype has risen to such extremes that the film couldn’t possibly live up to it… unless it could. Easy now, Kevin. The Fly franchise began with a short story written by George Langelaan. That story served as a basis for a film that was released in 1958 and spawned two sequels: Return of the Fly (1959) and Curse of the Fly (1965). David Cronenberg’s 1986 remake of The Fly is one of the most popular remakes ever made, and it was soon followed by The Fly II. Directed by Chris Walas from a screenplay by Mick Garris, Frank Darabont, Jim Wheat, and Ken Wheat, The Fly II has the following synopsis: Anton Bartok, the CEO of a research laboratory, acts as the self-appointed guardian of orphan Martin Brundle, whose father had been a researcher at the lab. UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies is the 2023 Peregrine Award Winner in the "Level I or II Trauma Centers" Category.

The trauma program's winning innovation was submitted by Jessica Cofran, MSN, RN, TCRN, CSTR, CAISS, trauma informatics manager for UCHealth Northern Colorado Region, and Jamie Teasley-Bennett, BSN, RN, TCRN, lead trauma nurse clinician for UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies.

The UCHealth team developed a standardized platform for documenting and reviewing performance improvement and patient safety (PIPS) events. The platform includes a comprehensive PIPS dictionary, standardized guidance on levels of review, referral letter templates, links to key information, and other resources.

According to Cofran, the new platform streamlined the trauma program's PIPS processes: "There has been substantial improvement in the trauma members' understanding of PI action plans and loop closure. Team member satisfaction has improved due to well-defined and streamlined trauma PIPS processes."

Level III-IV-V Winner: Connecting Trauma Patients with Help for Alcohol and Substance Disorders

Franciscan Health Crown Point is the 2023 Peregrine Award Winner in the "Level III, IV or V Trauma Centers" Category.

Franciscan Health's winning innovation was submitted by Jennifer Homan, RN, MSN, CPTI, the hospital's manager of trauma and injury prevention.

The Franciscan Health team created an initiative to overhaul its SBIRT process (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment). The new process incorporates a peer recovery coach and a substance use disorder licensed social worker who round on patients daily. The reworked SBIRT process enables open discussions with patients who screen positive for substance or alcohol use disorder, with improved intervention and referral rates.

"Our Level III trauma program took an old standard and was able to find flaws in the current process," Homan explained. "With a little innovation, we were able to reinvent the process with just a small investment in human capital."

Winner recognition event on May 19

The winners of the Peregrine Award for Trauma Innovation will be honored on Friday, May 19, at 2 p.m. Eastern during a special online recognition event — Profiles in Trauma Innovation: Improving PIPS and SBIRT.
