Physicians for Informed Consent Sues State of California, Argues That Doctor Censorship Bill AB 2098 Violates the U.S. Constitution
Federal Court to weigh controversial bill that PIC argues is an unlawful targeting of scientific dissent as 'misinformation'

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - December 7, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Physicians for Informed Consent (PIC), an educational nonprofit organization focused on science and statistics, has filed a First Amendment free speech lawsuit (2:22-cv-02147) in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and request for preliminary injunction, against the State of California and Osteopathic Medical Board of California in order to protect the free speech of all physicians in California.

The Plaintiffs are PIC and one of its founding members, physician LeTrinh Hoang, D.O., together with Children's Health Defense, California Chapter. The legal team managing the case are Rick Jaffe, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Mary Holland.

The lawsuit argues that the State has weaponized the vague phrase "misinformation," thereby unconstitutionally targeting physicians who publicly disagree with the government's public health edicts on COVID-19.

Expert cardiologist and PIC member Sanjay Verma, M.D., has been tracking and cataloging CDC errors in real time. For the case, he has provided what he calls "a detailed declaration exposing the government's scientific errors and the constitutional dangers of censoring dissent":

"To demonstrate these points of vagueness and the general unsuitability of using 'contemporary scientific consensus' as a disciplinary criterion, I have prepared a detailed overview of public health response to the pandemic broken down into categories such as Masks and Vaccines (transmission, safety, efficacy of natural immunity). I have also included evidence of what [I testify] would be considered misinformation promulgated by the CDC as well as its withholding of information which led to the then 'contemporary scientific consensus' eventually being proven wrong."

PIC President Shira Miller, M.D., was active in opposing AB 2098 while it was navigating the California legislative process, and has led the effort to bring the instant lawsuit. Opposing the bill, she wrote, "Public health is not achieved, and scientific knowledge does not progress, by censoring dissenting physicians and surgeons or anyone else. AB 2098 is anti-doctor, anti-public health, anti-science, and anti-free speech."

The scheduled hearing on PIC's motion for preliminary injunction is Jan. 17, 2023. PIC has requested the District Court issue a preliminary injunction that "AB 2098 is unconstitutional on its face." The Complaint also requests the Court "issue a declaratory judgement that PIC and CHD patient members have a privacy right in their prescriptions for any off-label FDA approved medication" such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.

What to Do if You’re Low on Funds in 2023

What to Do if You’re Low on Funds in 2023
LOS ANGELES - December 7, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

iQuanti: With inflation at record highs and the Federal Reserve raising interest rates at an unprecedented pace, many economists are expecting the U.S. to be in a recession throughout most of 2023. If you're concerned about your finances getting tight, then it will be important to know your options. From low-interest credit cards to title loans, there are several ways to get the cash you need. Here are five solutions for the next time you're low on funds.

1. Squeeze your budget

Everybody has fat in their spending that could stand to be trimmed. And when finances are running dry, this is the first place you should look. You can start by pulling up your bank and credit card statements. Make a note of any expenses that are unnecessary and commit to cutting some or all of them out of your budget.

2. Use 0% APR credit cards

If you absolutely have to make purchases but can't afford to pay them off right away, then something that might help is 0% APR credit cards. These are cards that offer an introductory period of 12 to 24 months where borrowers don't have to pay any interest on their purchases.

If you've already made some purchases on your current credit card, then you can also use these 0% APR cards to perform a balance transfer. This is effectively using one credit card to pay off another with the benefit that the 0% APR card will not accumulate any interest.

3. Apply for a short-term personal loan

Short-term personal loans are another relatively easy place for consumers to get the money they need without a lot of hassle. Many have a fixed rate of interest and last anywhere from two to five years.

Personal loans can be either secured or unsecured. Secured loans require you to offer collateral - something of value like a house or vehicle that the lender can take if you default on your payments. Unsecured loans don't require collateral, but applicants generally need to have a higher credit score.

4. Consider a title loan

If your credit score is not great, then another loan option you can consider is a title loan. With these secured loans, the borrower offers their vehicle as collateral. Title loans can often be approved in minutes. You can typically receive 25 to 50 percent of your car's value and can continue driving your car while you repay the loan.

5. Borrow against your retirement plan

If you've exhausted all other options, one last place you could go to find the money you need is an employer-sponsored retirement plan like a 401(k). Many plans offer participants the ability to borrow as much as $50,000 from themselves. You'd then have to pay the loan back within five years, making payments at least once each quarter, and with interest. Of course, taking money out of your 401(k) will inhibit its growth. So, this could be considered an option of last resort.

The bottom line

With inflation up and the stock market down, money may get tight in 2023. If that happens, start by taking a hard look at your budget before going external to credit cards, personal loans, and title loans. And if all else fails, remember that you do have the option to borrow from your 401(k) retirement plan.

Riboscience ESMO I/O Presentations Highlight RBS2418 Phase 1 Study Design and the First Human Data From the Evaluation of an ENPP1 Inhibitor for Immune Activation
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - December 7, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Riboscience, LLC, a private clinical-stage biotechnology company leveraging a proprietary library of nucleoside and non-nucleoside analogues to rationally design drug candidates that are highly efficacious and highly selective for essential targets in the virology and oncology spaces, today announced the publication of two abstracts that will be presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology Immuno-Oncology (ESMO-IO) Congress 2022, taking place virtually and on-site in Geneva, Switzerland, from Dec. 7-9, 2022.

Abstract #195TiP outlines the trial design for the Phase 1 clinical evaluation of orally administered RBS2418, a potent and selective ENPP1 inhibitor.  ENPP1 inhibition results in the protection of immune-activating cGAMP and ATP from hydrolysis in the TME and in the reduced production of immune-suppressive adenosine. The ongoing study is a Phase 1a/b, open-label, non-randomized study in patients (pts) (≥18 years) with advanced, unresectable, recurrent or metastatic solid tumors, who have progressed on, or are ineligible for standard therapies. The study begins with dose-escalation where in a 3+3 fashion, pts will receive in one cohort RBS2418 starting at 100mg bid as monotherapy and in a second cohort RBS2418 in combination with Pembrolizumab (200 mg IV q3w). The study will enroll up to 64 pts at 10 sites in the U.S. The primary objectives of the study are safety, tolerability, ENPP1 inhibition and cGAMP protection of RBS2418 as monotherapy and in the combination setting. Immune biomarkers predictive of anti-tumor responses will be explored as well as translational analyses will be done to explore the depth and breadth of immune activation both in tumor tissue and blood. This study is being funded by Riboscience, LLC.

Abstract#169P summarizes the PK, PD and immunomodulatory profile of RBS2418, which is also the first-in-human experience with an ENPP1 inhibitor. This was an expanded access study in a patient with advanced adrenal cancer, who had previously progressed on a treatment with pembrolizumab and cabozantinib. The results showed that weekly intra-patient escalation of doses from 100 mg BID to 400 mg BID in combination with pembrolizumab was safe, well tolerated with no DLTs. RBS2418 PK data showed oral bioavailability with plasma levels leading to complete serum ENPP1 inhibition at all time points already at the 100 mg starting dose level. The treatment induced increases in peripheral cDCs, proliferation of CD4 and CD8 T cells and hyperexpansion of TCR clonotypes in peripheral blood as well as upregulation of T cell cytotoxic granule protein gene expression, consistent with a treatment-induced immune activation from a baseline cold tumor phenotype. These results support further clinical development of this novel first-in-class immunotherapy agent in the on-going Phase1a/b clinical trial described above (NCT05270213).

About Riboscience, LLC.
Riboscience applies specialized chemistry and biology to create novel treatments for human diseases. We particularly focus on building ribose-based molecules, and we use structure-guided design to generate highly selective and efficacious drug candidates.

Nucleoside analogs are examples of ribose-based molecules that have become important drugs for the treatment of a number of viral diseases and cancers. The Riboscience library of nucleoside and non-nucleoside molecules is rationally designed to deliver drug candidates that are highly efficacious and highly selective for essential targets in the virology and oncology spaces.

About RBS2418.

RBS2418 is a nucleoside-derived small molecule that has been optimized for potent (picomolar binding affinity) and selective binding to the active site of ENPP1. ENPP1 is the only enzyme known in humans to hydrolyze the immune-activating messenger molecule cGAMP that is generated in tumor cells in the context of replication errors, DNA damage and a variety of replication defects. ENPP1 also hydrolyzes ATP and contributes to the generation of increased immune-suppressive adenosine levels in the TME. ENPP1 upregulation is commonly observed in tumors and is associated with immune evasion, cold tumor phenotype, disease progression and non-response to checkpoint inhibitors. RBS2418 is the first clinical-stage ENPP1 inhibitor and is being investigated in a Phase 1a/b dose escalation and expansion study as monotherapy and in combination with Pembrolizumab. Refer to the clinicaltrials.gov overview for more information:  RBS2418 Evaluation in Subjects With Unresectable or Metastatic Tumors - Full Text View - ClinicalTrials.gov. MIA Recoveries, Inc. Announces That the Mystery of 13 American WWII MIAs is Solved

MIA Recoveries, Inc. Announces That the Mystery of 13 American WWII MIAs is Solved
MIA Recoveries, Inc. has located a long-missing US Air Force C-46 aircraft lost during WWII with 13 souls aboard, bringing to a total of 279 MIA personnel now located.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. - December 7, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Clayton Kuhles of MIA Recoveries, Inc. announced a successful expedition and discovery of the location of US Air Force C-46A #42-96721, missing in action since 1945 when it was lost while on a mission during WWII.

"This brings closure to the families after 77 years," said Clayton Kuhles, founder and president of the private, nonprofit MIA Recoveries, Inc.

After first hearing of MIA Recoveries, Bill Scherer, the son of passenger 1st Lt. William Scherer, contacted Clayton to ask if he would look for his father's lost aircraft.

"After we found the crash site and positively identified it," said Clayton, "Bill said that he wished his mother was still alive to hear this great news. She was heartbroken for decades after her husband disappeared."

It Simply Disappeared

The plane was on a routine flight from China to its base in India. On board was a crew of four and nine passengers.  The weather was very bad, with severe turbulence, violent updrafts and crosswinds, and moderate to severe icing along the entire route.  At 1420Z, contact with the aircraft was lost and it was declared missing in flight. This aircraft was never heard from again.

According to the official Missing Air Crew Report, "It simply disappeared". The plane's nickname was Stork. Dead: 13

Bringing Closure

MIA Recoveries, Inc. has been searching for, locating, and recovering MIA American airmen since 2002. Clayton Kuhles and his team have reached 27 crashed aircraft missing for decades, thereby accounting for 279 personnel listed as MIA until then.

Finding Lost Aircraft Previously Listed as Unrecoverable

The U.S. lost hundreds of aircraft in the China-Burma-India theater of operations during WWII. The location of these aircraft and the MIA's remains had previously been deemed "Unrecoverable" by the U.S. Dept. of Defense, due to extreme terrain and no precise known locations where these aircraft went down.

"The reason why these cases are unsolved is because they're so remote and so difficult to get there that most people don't want to make an attempt, much less go there," says Clayton. "These people (families of the missing airmen) don't have closure because no one wants to go there."  See the full interview on YouTube

More MIAs Can Be Brought Home

Clayton says that his MIA expeditions are mostly self-funded and he receives no funding assistance from the U.S. government. He would be able to bring home more American MIAs and bring closure to the families of even more veterans with funding support. A tax-deductible funding donation to MIA Recoveries, Inc. will help fund these ongoing MIA expeditions and bring closure to more families.

MIA Recoveries, Inc. is a tax-exempt public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Funding donations to MIA Recoveries, Inc. are tax-deductible.

Holidays Are Perfect Time to Check on Well-Being of Seniors

Sara Wilson

CEO of Home Assist Health

PHOENIX - December 7, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

With holidays just around the corner, many families are gathering or visiting senior relatives, creating the perfect opportunity to check on the well-being of aging seniors. Travel has been limited the past few years for many families, so some signs that your aging loved ones may need in-home care may have gone unnoticed.

Sara Wilson, CEO of Home Assist Health, a Phoenix-based nonprofit that serves 1,200 seniors and individuals with disabilities in their homes annually, notes, "Seniors often don't want to ask for help because they are afraid of being put in a long-term care home or being moved from where they are most comfortable, their homes. The good news, many families don't realize seniors can stay in their own home and have help come to them."

Wilson shares that if you visit senior family members this holiday season and notice the following, it may be time to have a conversation about home care:

10 Signs Your Senior Relative May Need In-Home Care

  1. Not keeping up with house cleaning/yard work
  2. Missing appointments or meetings/obligations
  3. Poor personal hygiene or bladder control issues
  4. Difficulty with mobility or standing
  5. Car accident or difficulty driving
  6. Depression, seclusion or changes in mood
  7. Loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy
  8. Multiple chronic illnesses they are trying to manage, like diabetes or high blood pressure
  9. Gained or lost a significant amount of weight; trouble chewing, swallowing or taking medication
  10. Recent fall

Next Steps for Care

If concerned, consider taking the next step by contacting organizations like Home Assist Health that provide free phone interviews and in-home evaluations. Determine if a loved one has insurance for home care, which may come from a Medicaid Long-Term Care benefit, Select Medicare Advantage Plans, or Private Long-Term Care Insurance Plan. For those without home care benefits from insurance, there are other payment methods for accessing care at home. Visit https://homeassisthealth.org to learn more.

They then selected honorees in 55 categories - from advertising to sustainability to retail, and more - and in age-based, revenue-based, size-based, and impact-based categories. It is located at 1841 N. 24th Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85008, and is accepting new patients now. The new facility offers industry-leading approaches to drug and alcohol detoxification in a peaceful environment. As patients undergo their detox processes, they will be comfortable in generously large bedrooms with comfortable furnishings, allowing them to rest and heal. Each room has a private bath and shower, and a personal TV.

Purpose Healing Centers focus on the health of patients, physically, emotionally, and mentally. Each room is designed to prevent injury or self-harm. Patients have 24-hour access to nursing staff and they are provided care uniquely tailored for their symptoms.

They offer full drug and alcohol detox services, working in partnership with the treatment services offered at their other campuses, including inpatient recovery, IOP, PHP, outpatient and family therapy.

The new facility offers patients private rooms and two recreational areas with larger TVs and other entertainment. There are also two outdoor areas for cigarette smoking. The 16,000-square-foot facility is equipped with multiple nursing stations, so patients always have help available for their care. Nutrition is important when healing during detox, and hot meals tailored to the nutritional needs of those in recovery are provided, as well as snacks.

Why Detox Is Necessary for Addiction Therapy

Many people don't realize that the highest chance for someone to relapse is within the first week of deciding to get sober. For some substances, withdrawal without medical supervision can be deadly, for example, alcohol and benzodiazepines.

Purpose Healing Center administers medically managed and supervised withdrawal from drugs and alcohol. Patients are monitored around the clock for emergencies and to assess their progression.

Once the body is cleansed of the substances, the patient is in a better place to start the work of sobriety and rehabilitation. A good experience in the detox part of recovery can be critical to the success of each patient and establish them on a path of health and wellness.

Mission

Purpose Healing Center was born with this in mind: "Bring Addiction Treatment to as many people as possible and save lives." Robin Byrne, LCSW, Chief Clinical Officer and Cofounder of Purpose Healing Centers.

They approach addiction treatment holistically, exploring the underlying reasons why patients drink or use drugs. Services are provided by licensed and professionally trained counselors and therapists, and there are a variety of programs, including professional counseling, group therapy, and learning about the science of addiction.

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - December 7, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Dynapower, a Sensata Technologies company and a global leader in power conversion and energy storage solutions, announced that it has been selected to provide 220 megawatts of IGBT chopper rectifiers to the Advanced Clean Energy Storage hub—powering the production of green hydrogen to accelerate the decarbonization of the Western United States.

Located in Delta, Utah, the Advanced Clean Energy Storage hub will be the world's largest renewable energy storage facility. The hub will capture excess wind and solar energy and—with the help of Dynapower's power conversion systems—convert it to green hydrogen using electrolysis and store it in underground salt caverns. The first two caverns at the hub will store up to 300-gigawatt hours of dispatchable clean energy and feed it back to the grid when it's most needed.

Dynapower's high-power, highly reliable IGBT chopper technology was chosen for this project due to several key advantages, including a high power factor across the input range, compliance with IEEE 519 grid harmonics, a simplified and lower-cost transformer design, low DC ripple, and a rapid response to changes in power generation.

"We're thrilled to support this project and expand the use of clean hydrogen to decarbonize the energy ecosystem," said Adam M. Knudsen, Chief Executive Officer of Dynapower. "Our commitment to advancing a clean energy future is stronger than ever, and we're honored to be able to contribute our expertise to a renewables project of this size and magnitude, paving the way for the future of green hydrogen power and a cleaner planet."

Dynapower brings 60 years of experience in power electronics, U.S.-based manufacturing, world-class service and support, and a proven track record of successful execution to the Advanced Clean Energy Storage hub project. More information about the hub can be found at https://aces-delta.com.
