neurocare group AG ("neurocare" or the "Company"), a leading innovator in personalized mental health and performance empowering clinicians to deliver best practice, announced the publication titled "Sleep predicts the response to rTMS and CBT in patients with OCD: an open label effectiveness study" in the International Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology. The study confirms the importance of sleep for the effectiveness of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in combination with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

In this study, the authors investigated if sleep problems may be associated with the response to rTMS in patients with treatment-resistant OCD. All patients were treated at three neurocare group clinics. Study results show that combining rTMS with CBT may be more effective than rTMS alone as 60% of patients with OCD benefit from the combination therapy. Also, 42% of patients with OCD and a major depressive disorder benefit from this combination therapy. The study further concludes that OCD patients with sleeping problems tend to have less favorable treatment outcomes. Therefore, an integrated therapy approach that includes optimizing the patients' sleep during treatment is important.

In this study, 61 patients with treatment-resistant OCD received a combined treatment of rTMS and cognitive behavioral therapy at three neurocare Group clinicsin Nijmegen, the Haag, and Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The majority received one rTMS protocol aimed at a specific location in the brain (SMA). Patients who had a comorbid depression were treated with the protocol for OCD (SMA) and a protocol that is used for the treatment of depression. 60% of the patients receiving one rTMS protocol showed a decrease of at least 35% in obsessive compulsive complaints, as measured by the Y-BOCS. 42% of the patients receiving the two rTMS protocols showed a decrease of at least 35% in obsessive compulsive complaints. Patients also reported a large effect on depressive symptoms. Patients with sleeping problems had a less favorable outcome.

Pastor Luke Barnett and his daughter, Annalee, set out two years ago to hike the world-famous, 800-mile Arizona Trail. The two were hiking in an effort to raise $1 million to help the Short Creek Dream Center support families and individuals in need of housing, provide food resources to families in need and offer refuge to victims of abuse in Colorado City, AZ (the town featured in the Netflix docuseries, Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey). Luke and Annalee were 500 miles into the hike when an 8,000-pound boulder came bombing down toward Annalee. Heroically, Luke pushed his daughter out of the way, saving her, and, in turn, was crushed and dragged by the boulder himself. Narrowly escaping with his life, Luke was airlifted with multiple broken bones, including a broken femur, three broken ribs, and a nearly severed finger, spent nine days in the hospital, and encouraged Annalee to continue the hike without him. 

This story broke internationally and allowed the hikers to raise over $1.8 million in support of the Short Creek Dream Center and Short Creek community. 

Now, Luke Barnett is back on the Arizona Trail and determined to complete the last 300 miles of the hike. He wants to accomplish the feat that the boulder robbed them of two years ago and, most importantly, continue to raise money and awareness to support the Dream Center's efforts in the Short Creek community to help survivors of abuse, human trafficking, domestic violence and provide critical resources to families in need.

Tripbtoz, a Travel Experiences Provider Beyond Time and Space, Declares Its Entry Into the Global Market in 2023

Tripbtoz is a one-stop travel platform based on user-generated video content. Users share their short-form travel videos via app, and others can easily book hotels shown in the clips. The Korean startup differs from existing OTAs in providing user cross-communication tools in addition to basics such as lowest-priced accommodation. Users can simplify the step of travel consideration by experiencing indirectly and choosing destinations at the same time. This innovative challenger launched a renewal app in September that strengthens the travel community function and more enjoyment.

CEO Jiha JUNG introduced his company as a new web 3.0 era platform during the presentation under "The next wave of travel industry" at the world's largest mobile device fair "MWC (Mobile World Congress) Las Vegas 2022." Tripbtoz, well-received in Korea, plans to target the Southeast Asian market, starting with the establishment of Singapore corporation in the first quarter of next year. The company also aims to focus on entering global markets including the U.S. by launching English services in the first half of 2023.

The five tabs of their renewed app are as follows.

  • Travel around the world while watching the video - FEED

Opening the app, one can see 'Feed' at first. In this SNS look-alike menu, users can watch videos uploaded by other travelers and click "Likes" or leave comments. If the users are interested in hotels, the user can click on the location information at the bottom of the video to go directly to the reservation step of the accommodation.

  • Upload videos, conquer the area, and get rewards. - RANKING

A particularly notable feature of App 3.0, the tab is related to the 'Travel 2 Earn' service that actual rewards are given to. Travelers upload short forms with location information about specific hotels or filming places. The platform determines the ranking by combining user activities such as sharing, "Likes and views" counting, and comments. The top 100 rankers of each regional area earn Tripcash that can be used for bookings. Users conquer each area categorized as countries, larger provinces, local counties and cities, and accommodations, and more rewards are distributed over areas where more travelers competed. 

  • Hurdle the upload worry and get a chance to win a prize. - CHALLENGE

The Challenge tab, also a notable new menu, participates in a set topic with short-form like TikTok and YouTube shorts. If the user has a hard time deciding what to film, these missions will lead the users. Current challenges are "Ho-kipedia" (introduction of hotels), "Point-a-pin Challenge" (about local restaurants & attractions), and "What's in my trip" (freewrite), and events will also be held to draw and give prizes only among challenge participants.
