iQuanti: If you're in a cash crunch and have no credit, you may be wondering how to get the funds you need. Luckily, there are still plenty of options at your disposal. And even though it may be difficult to find online loans with no credit check, many lenders have less strict credit score requirements and approve borrowers with poor or no credit. If that sounds like you, you might want to try one of the following:
1. Find a co-signer with better credit
Consider finding someone you trust (and who trusts you) to be a co-signer on your loan application. This means they're taking responsibility for repayment of the loan if you default or can't fulfill your obligation. The loan will show up on their credit report also, so make sure you make all your payments on time.
Lenders will be more lenient with a no-credit borrower when they have a co-signer. Younger people with no credit often start their credit history with a personal or student loan co-signed by their parents. During the loan approval process, the lender will use the higher of the two applicant's credit scores to determine creditworthiness.
2. Search online for poor-credit loans
There are many online lenders who specialize in poor and no-credit loans. They work with people who have credit scores below the industry standard that many traditional banks require for personal loans. With these loans, you can have poor, fair, or no credit and still get approved. Spend some time doing online research and you should be able to find a good lender. Here are some types of poor-credit loans that may be available to you:
Cash advances: These are short-term, small dollar loans that can get you a few hundred dollars to cover expenses before payday. You'll repay this loan in two to four weeks when you get your next paycheck.
Title loans: With title loans, you can receive the funds you need using your car title as collateral. The lender will appraise your vehicle, then offer you a loan amount worth 25 to 50% of its value. You can keep driving your car while you repay the loan.
Installment loans: Installment loans can give you a lump sum of money all at once. Then, you can repay what you owe over time in fixed monthly payments, or installments.
3. Ask your friends and family for some funds
No one wants to borrow money from friends and family, but financial distress is a real dilemma. If it comes down to asking for help or missing a rent/mortgage payment, ask for help. Reach out to friends and family, be sincere about your circumstances, and offer repayment terms you can afford.
Another approach here is to exchange labor for funds. Everyone needs some work done around the house. Mowing the lawn, painting a bathroom, or helping someone move are all tasks that could warrant some type of financial compensation. And maybe you can even turn that type of work into a side hustle to get you out of the financial situation you're in.
The bottom line:
Traditional banks and credit unions aren't the only places you can borrow money. Online lenders often specialize in poor-credit loans. You can increase your chances of approval by asking someone to co-sign for you. If all else fails, reach out to friends and family for help or come up with a side hustle where you can make some extra money.
Air-Clenz Systems™ (Air-Clenz™) was today granted a pioneer U.S. patent, U.S. 11,471,553, as part of the company's ongoing effort to make indoor air cleaner, safer, and healthier for all. The patent covers the back of all seats, chairs or benches used in any indoor venue or vehicle (including aircraft) in the United States when an air purifier or an Air-Clenz™ unit is integrated in or attached to the back of a seat, chair or bench. Additionally, it covers all types of electronic display screens when the electronic display screen acts to block and deflect exhaled air mixed with room air towards and into an air suction intake of an attached, integrated or associated air purifier or Air-Clenz™ unit. Additional patent applications are pending.
"Today is an important step in a two-year-plus journey for Air-Clenz™," explained company Chief Executive Officer Stuart Sheldon. "It recognizes the visionary thinking of our founder Dr. Ronald Blum, our Chief Scientist Anita T. Broach, PhD., and others to fundamentally change how the world approaches improving indoor air quality. This patent acknowledges that Drs. Blum and Broach were the first to figure out how to quickly stop, capture, and clean an exhaled breath, cough or sneeze within the first three to four feet from someone's mouth and nose, before it — and any possible airborne disease it may carry — can spread through the indoor space." When one sits behind a seat, chair or bench, or in front of an electronic display screen such as a desktop monitor, laptop or tablet, their exhaled air can be blocked and its forward motion stopped, allowing it to be quickly captured and cleaned by an air purifier or an Air-Clenz™ unit. In most cases, the distance from the back of a seat, chair or bench or the front of an electronic display screen is three feet or less from the individual's face, whose exhaled air is being captured and cleaned.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently warned about the low vaccination rate in Europe and believes a new wave of COVID will soon spread across Europe, as well as an increase in influenza. While the BA.4 and BA.5 variants fuel increasing COVID rates in Europe, the BQ.1, BQ.1.1, and XBB variants are cause of concern in the U.S. and Canada, and BA.2.75.2 in India. Scientists and medical doctors warn that increased respiratory infections will occur this fall and winter in the U.S. COVID, influenza, the common cold, mumps, measles, tuberculosis and whooping cough are all transmitted by airborne infectious respiratory particles from one human to another.
Anita Broach, PhD, Air-Clenz™ Chief Scientist, said, "Because we can't see airborne viruses and bacteria, most people don't realize how easily they are spread by an exhaled breath, cough or sneeze — or by contaminated interior air flow being pulled towards the return of an HVAC [Heat, Ventilation, Air Conditioning] system, or the air intake of a conventional air purifier. Air-Clenz™ is the only known mask-free solution that quickly stops, captures, and cleans an exhaled air breath, cough or sneeze before it spreads throughout an indoor venue or vehicle. Air-Clenz™ can capture and clean an exhaled air breath, cough or sneeze to 99.97% pure in less than 10 seconds. Scientists and health professionals know that an exhaled air breath contains up to 100 micron and submicron particles traveling up to 3.5 miles per hour. A cough contains up to 10,000 micron and submicron particles at up to 50 miles per hour, while a sneeze contains up to 100,000 micron and submicron particles traveling up to 100 miles per hour."
In addition to blocking, quickly capturing, and cleaning exhaled air, Air-Clenz™ increases the clean air turns per hour (ACH) in a room or venue. Multiple highly reputable studies performed or reported by major universities, research institutes, and companies such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), Harvard, Yale, the National Institute of Health (N.I.H.), and the Carrier Corporation have concluded that when indoor clean air quality is improved, not only can cross-airborne infection be reduced, but cognitive ability, productivity, and performance can be greatly enhanced.
Dr. Ron Blum, Chairman of Air-Clenz Systems™, stated, "We are most pleased and excited about the scope and strength of this new U.S. patent. It provides intellectual property protection for any air purifier or Air-Clenz™ unit that is attached to, integrated in or associated with the back of all types of seats, chairs or benches for any indoor venue, such as office, school, theater, house of worship, home, as well as any vehicle, such as automobile, truck, train, bus, subway, ship or aircraft. This patent also provides intellectual property protection for any electronic display screen, such as an electronic display screen attached to the back of an aircraft seat, the front of computer monitors, laptop computers, exercise equipment, gambling machines, etc., where the electronic display screen blocks and deflects a mixture of exhaled air and room air towards and into an air suction intake of an air purifier or Air-Clenz™ system that is attached, integrated or associated. Further, while Air-Clenz™ utilizes true HEPA filter technology, the patent covers all known possible ways of cleaning and/or purifying indoor and exhaled air. We have been most diligent in protecting our intellectual property. The combination of U.S. 11,471,553 and 11,324,850 now provides Air-Clenz™ with solid patent protection. In addition, Air-Clenz™ has numerous additional patent applications filed and pending in the U.S. and around the world."

Call for a WHO Resolution to kick-start necessary action
CAPE TOWN, South Africa - October 19, 2022 - (Newswire.com)
The Global Self-Care Federation (GSCF) has today launched the second edition of the Self-Care Readiness Index, examining how self-care policies are being implemented across the world. The first and second editions of the Index, together covering 20 countries, demonstrate very clearly that there is a widespread lack of a coherent view of self-care and its benefits.
Malebona Precious Matsoso, Former Director General of the Department of Health, South Africa said: "Taking collective action to integrate self-care into the global healthcare continuum is the logical and critical next step as we move to re-evaluate the status of our healthcare systems. To support this, there needs to be a global compact on self-care at the international level, this will provide a frame for national-level policymakers to operate within."
The Self-Care Readiness Index (SCRI) is a research and policymaking tool which explores the key enablers of self-care in support of designing a better model for healthcare systems. It evaluates countries based on four self-care enablers, supported by measurable indicators of self-care readiness. The four enablers are stakeholder support and adoption; consumer and patient empowerment; comprehensive self-care health policies; and the appropriate regulatory environment.
Manoj Raghunandanan, Chair Elect at the Global Self-Care Federation said, "Self-care is a simple concept but it is not easy. It takes a concerted effort by governments, healthcare professionals, academia, industry, and ultimately, the population at large. But the potential rewards are high: better patient outcomes, more efficient healthcare systems and improved access to care."
Raghunandanan continued, "This research is clear: self-care is highly effective and efficient. In developed countries, empowering people to care for their own health reduces pressure on healthcare systems. And it is critical for low- and middle-income countries, where self-care can be an incredibly important tool for delivering the goal of universal health coverage, and may actually be the only healthcare option available."
The second edition of the SCRI covered Australia, Canada, Colombia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. This complemented the countries covered in the first edition: Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Nigeria, Poland, South Africa, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Judy Stenmark, Director General at GSCF continued, "Self-care has to be a political priority for every single government across the world. And we are calling on WHO to urgently adopt a Resolution to support the synchronisation of self-care policies to create the momentum for this much-needed change."
The new SCRI is available here. It is a wide-ranging and comprehensive report, covering in detail the four enablers and the extent of self-care penetration in each of the 10 countries. It is the result of thorough research into each country's healthcare system, led by GSCF and in collaboration with the World Health Organization's Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicines and Integrated Health Services Unit, with the support of the eminent healthcare professionals who made up the Expert Advisory Committee.
In September 2022, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded Alliant Health Solutions a three-year grant to establish a national center of excellence for building capacity in nursing facilities to care for residents with behavioral health conditions.
The Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilities (COE-NF) will serve as a centralized hub and national model for expanding capacity in nursing facilities to care for residents with a variety of behavioral health needs. The program will support resource development and dissemination to better serve residents with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), Substance Use Disorders (SUD), or Co-occurring Disorders (COD). Training, technical assistance, and workforce development will be provided for staff in nursing facilities.
SAMHSA expects that this program will help to: (1) strengthen and sustain effective behavioral health practices and achieve better outcomes for nursing home residents with SMI, SED, SUD, or COD; and (2) ensure the availability of evidence-based training and technical assistance addressing mental health disorder identification, treatment, and recovery support services. Training and technical assistance will also be provided to support facilities in improving care for this population.
"Alliant recognizes that mental health is an important part of someone's overall health and well-being. Our support for the Center of Excellence Nursing Facility will provide necessary resources to support the nursing facility residents that have been diagnosed with behavioral health needs and will also increase awareness about how mental health and substance use affects millions of people and their families nationwide," says Dennis White, President and CEO at Alliant Health Solutions.
Todd H. Lanman, MD, and Jason M. Cuellar, MD, Ph.D., restore spinal motion in a woman with 4-level disc degeneration using "keelless" prodisc® C Vivo at three levels.
ADR Spinal Restoration Center, Drs. Todd Lanman and Jason Cuellar are again breaking new ground in their pioneering efforts in multi-level artificial disc replacement. Drs. Lanman and Cuellar became the first surgeons in the United States to implant prodisc C Vivo at three levels of the cervical spine. The procedure was actually a 4-level ADR. The fourth implanted disc was the original prodisc® C.
The patient is an extremely active 76-year-old woman who enjoys various physical activities. Her physical functioning had been limited by spinal cord compression at four levels in her neck. The cord compression in her neck was so severe that she had difficulty walking.
Given the woman's age, several spine surgeons recommended a 4-level laminectomy and fusion to treat her cord compression. The woman realized that fusing spinal four levels in her neck would put an end to her ability to take part in the activities she loves, including basic actions like driving a car. Drs. Lanman and Cuellar were the only surgeons to suggest artificial disc replacement rather than cervical spinal fusion.
While the prodisc® ADR platform is the most extensively studied artificial disc system in the world and the prodisc® C Vivo has been used outside the U.S. for more than a decade, the Vivo was only approved by the FDA in the summer of 2022.
Dr. Cuellar realized that the "keelless" design of the prodisc® C Vivo would likely be the ideal disc for the woman's particular anatomy at three of the four problematic spinal levels. Instead of keels, which are relatively tall fins on the superior (top) and inferior (bottom) endplates, the prodisc® C Vivo has short, lateral spikes that provide immediate fixation with a strength similar to other "keeled" prodisc® devices.
"Everyone else wanted to fuse her spine at four levels," Dr. Lanman shared. "At 76 years old, she has the activity level of a much younger person. I couldn't bear to see more than half of her cervical spine fused." When asked how the patient is doing, Dr. Cuellar replied, "It is early, but she's doing great so far. She is certainly very pleased and very grateful. She left the hospital the following morning and took only Tylenol for minimal pain."
Todd H. Lanman, MD, and Jason M. Cuellar, M.D., Ph.D., are dedicated to spinal motion preservation surgery in the cervical and lumbar spines. They have each published over three dozen peer-reviewed scientific journal articles in the field. Dr. Lanman is an associate clinical professor at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Institute for Spinal Disorders, and is the founder and principal at ADR Spinal Restoration Center in Beverly Hills, CA. Dr. Cuellar is an associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, and has recently opened a practice in Miami and the Palm Beach area of Florida.
iQuanti: Millennials grew up during the online lending explosion. As a result, personal loans are a popular borrowing option among the millennial generation for covering large expenses, refinancing debt, and building credit.
Secured personal loans are a particularly useful option. They require the borrower to provide a valuable item as collateral. Then, the lender can seize this and sell it to cover their loss if the borrower defaults. This reduces the lender's risk, which benefits the borrower in many ways. So, with that said, here are four reasons why millennials should consider a secured personal loan:
1. Can be easier to qualify for
If you're trying to get your first loan and worried about approval chances, secured loans are often easier to qualify for than unsecured loans. This is because the collateral offsets the lender's risk of you defaulting. As a result, the lender will be more lenient.
Some lenders also have less strict credit score requirements for secured personal loans. They might want to see factors in addition to your credit score, like proof of steady income and employment, to make an approval decision.
2. May be able to receive a larger loan amount
The collateral reduces the lender's risk, and the loan amount is often based at least partly on the collateral's value. This means you may be able to get a larger loan amount with a secured personal loan than an unsecured one. For example, if you have an investment account with $30,000, you may be able to use that as collateral to get a bigger loan.
3. May be able to get a lower rate
Again, secured loans are less risky to lenders. So, the lender won't charge you as high of an interest rate as an unsecured loan with the same amount and term length. This can help you save a substantial amount in interest over the life of the loan. Additionally, it can lower your monthly payment. As a result, you could fit your payments into your budget more easily and minimize the chance of defaulting.
4. Can help you build credit
Many millennials may be just getting started with their credit score, or they may have lower scores due to economic turmoil. Regardless, secured loans can be great tools for building your credit. Many loans that require a credit check report your payments to the credit bureaus, and a history of on-time payments can raise your score significantly over time. Since secured loans are easier to get, they can be a great first step in building or rebuilding your credit.
Secured loans can be excellent for some millennial borrowers
Many millennials could benefit from secured personal loans. The collateral offsets the lender's risk, so they're often more lenient with approval criteria. You can usually get lower interest rates and larger loan amounts than unsecured personal loans as well.
Secured personal loans can also be great credit builders for these reasons. Millennials with no or poor credit could get a secured personal loan and build credit through on-time payments. If you think a secured personal loan is right for you, shop around and get prequalified. This will help you find the right terms for your needs while minimizing hard inquiries.
