Directed by Melanie Orr from a screenplay by William Tyler Bell, Harm’s Way has the following synopsis: The proprietor of a women’s shelter jeopardizes the relationship between an abused mother and daughter. Darlene and her daughter Victoria seek refuge at a remote rural safe house for abused women that’s run by the strict and tough, but folksy and supportive Bea. Things turn sour when Bea proves to be a total lunatic with an especially dangerous influence on the impressionable Victoria.

Quinlan is joined in the cast by Ingrid Kavelaars, Hannah Lochner, Claudia Wit, Dan Petronijevic, David Sparrow, Jeff Topping, and Arlene Mazerolle.

Orr got her start working in the entertainment industry as a script supervisor in 2001, then made her feature directorial debut with the horror film Grindstone Road in 2008. Harm’s Way was her second feature. Since then, Orr has directed The Devil’s Mercy and episodes of the shows Forbidden Science, Scare Tactics, Dark Matter, The Next Step, Bajillionaires, Dino Dana, Utopia Falls, Ghostwriter, Children Ruin Everything, Spencer Sisters, and The Hardy Boys, among others. Orr has also worked as a second unit director and cinematographer.
