This accolade comes from the 2024 RCM survey responses of hospital executives, financial system users, and business office leaders representing 680 inpatient organizations.

Between Q4 2023 and Q2 2024, the Black Book Research financial digital transformation software survey rigorously evaluated 307 vendors across various finance functional categories. This assessment drew on feedback from 6,195 verified client users to determine the top-rated solutions vendors.

The Front Room: trailer released for Brandy Norwood, Eggers brothers horror film, which has earned an R rating

The Front Room: trailer released for Brandy Norwood, Eggers brothers horror film, which has earned an R rating

A24 has released a trailer for the horror film The Front Room, directed by Robert Eggers’ brothers Max and Sam Eggers

Almost two years have gone by since A24 announced that production was underway on the psychological horror film The Front Room, with Brandy Norwood (Queens, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer) taking on the lead role and Max and Sam Eggers – the younger brothers of The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman director Robert Eggers – at the helm. Now we’re only a couple months away from the film’s theatrical release date of September 6th (a date that puts it in direct competition with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), and A24 has just unveiled a trailer. You can check it out in the embed above. UPDATE: FilmRatings.com reports that The Front Room has just received an R rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board for language, some violent/disturbing content, brief sexuality and nudity.

Based on a short story by Susan Hill, The Front Room has the following synopsis: Everything goes to hell for newly-pregnant Belinda (Brandy) after her mother-in-law (Kathryn Hunter) moves in. As the diabolical guest tries to get her claws on the child, Belinda must draw the line somewhere… If you would like to read the short story source material, it can be found in Hill’s collection The Travelling Bag and Other Ghostly Stories. Copies can be purchased at THIS LINK.

Norwood is joined in the cast by Kathryn Hunter (The Tragedy of Macbeth), Andrew Burnap (WeCrashed), and Neal Huff (Spotlight).

The Front Room is being produced by A24, along with Lucan Toh, Babak Anvari, and Bryan Sonderman of Two & Two Pictures, as well as Julia Oh and David Hinojosa of 2AM. A24 is financing the project and will be handling the worldwide theatrical release.

Max Eggers co-wrote The Lighthouse with his brother Robert and was a production assistant on Robert’s 2008 short film adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe story The Tell-Tale Heart. Sam Eggers was also a production assistant on that short film, and on The Witch. Sam also co-wrote and co-edited the 2018 documentary Olympia, about actress Olympia Dukakis.

This event is brought to you by Crux and Bend Pet Express and will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Crux Bend Lawn at 50 SW Division Street in Bend, Oregon.

The Dogs & Lagers Fest will be a fun-filled day to celebrate Bend's community of pet-parents and their beloved dogs. DEXIS Shares Top 4 Ways AI Will Impact Dentistry in 2024

0
DEXIS Shares Top 4 Ways AI Will Impact Dentistry in 2024
The leader in dental imaging technology sees artificial intelligence already in place at innovative dental practices.

Artificial intelligence is everywhere this year and is having an especially large impact on dentistry. With the first four months of 2024 complete, DEXIS, a technology leader in dental imaging, has identified four leading trends in AI and dentistry that are already having an impact on dental care.

Wouter Mollemans, Head of Software Development at DEXIS, notes, “At DEXIS, we believe technology is always in service to dental practitioners, supplementing their skills, experience, and relationship with their patients."

"Overall, I see a growing integration of AI technologies across various aspects of dental practices, from diagnosis and treatment planning to education and research,” Mollemans said. “I expect to see more specialized advancements specific to each branch or specialty within dentistry – implants, endodontics, orthodontics, restorative dentistry, and more.”

Mollemans has four predictions for dentistry AI trends in 2024:

AI Imaging Analysis: AI algorithms analyze dental radiographs, CT scans, digital impressions, and intraoral photos. Mollemans says the results assist dentists in more efficient diagnosis, treatment planning, and oral health monitoring.

These functions are built into the DEXIS ecosystem’s imaging hub, DTX Studio™ Clinic, making it the first on-premise dental imaging system with assisted intelligence tools that can concurrently identify common dental findings on 2D radiographs. These dental findings include: caries, calculus, periapical radiolucency, root canal filling deficiency, discrepancy at margin of an existing restoration and bone loss. Moreover, DTX Studio Clinic automatically analyzes any loaded CBCT scan to set up diagnostic workspaces and trace the mandibular nerve canals.

Predictive Analytics: AI was developed to analyze so-called “big data” to spot patterns and make recommendations.

In dentistry, Mollemans notes, AI-powered software can analyze patients’ case histories to improve dental practices’ workflow efficiency – identifying the number of missed caries, performing automated image IQ checks, and more.  In the future, refinements to dental AI may be able to forecast a patient’s potential to develop conditions such as gum disease and possibly help dentists begin care and treatment earlier.

Integrated AI Workflows: Mollemans sees early-adopter dental practices already incorporating functions into hardware, like digital imaging equipment, that will allow their software to execute crucial AI-driven tasks. This should allow dentists to spend less time on straightforward steps and more time on things that really matter – for example, spending less time to load a CBCT scan affords more time for diagnosis and treatment planning. “This will be one of the key elements to discover and explore as a dentist in 2024,” Mollemans said.

DTX Studio Clinic incorporates AI tools that simplify dental practitioners’ work. For example, SmartFusion™ fuses cone-beam CT scans (CBCT) with intraoral scan data, creating a 3D view of the underlying anatomy and providing deeper visibility to diagnose and treat.

Ongoing AI investment: DEXIS has already made significant investments into developing dental-specific AI technologies, and Mollemans sees patients as the big winners in this scenario.

“Assisted intelligence in dental imaging can improve patient outcomes, streamline diagnosis through treatment, and enhance the overall delivery and predictability of dental care,” Mollemans said. “But it can’t just be technology for technology’s sake. At DEXIS, we always think about how technology can help patients and practitioners.”

About DEXIS

Today, DEXIS has brought together the most trusted brands in 3D imaging, intraoral scanning solutions, and diagnostic software to provide patients with a complete digital diagnostic solution under a brand name. Neuro20 Technologies

Neuro20 Technologies Logo

Neuro20 Technologies Corp., announces release of a White Paper discussing patient improvements and potential mechanisms for patients with Long COVID, specifically with fatigue, movement, and neurological symptoms. Neuro20 is a medical technology manufacturer with an FDA cleared wearable device that involuntarily moves up to 44 muscles in a series of pre-designed sequenced movement patterns.

Since April 2024, doctors utilized the device for seven patients diagnosed with Long Covid. It demonstrated levels of improvement for symptoms and quality of life for all seven patients. Two patients used walkers coming into the clinic and left without a walker following one treatment.

The device is a physical modality, worn by the patient, that is FDA medically cleared (Feb. 2023) and Medicare Durable Medical Equipment approved (Feb. 2024). The FDA Indications of Use are facilitation of muscle performance, re-educating muscles, increasing local blood circulation, maintaining or increasing range of motion, relaxing muscle spasms, and retardation or preventing disuse atrophy, all of which address the underlying symptoms of Long COVID.

The device is intended for injured and diseased tissue, must be prescribed, and has a Use Environment both in clinics and home.

A white paper discussing the theory behind the effects of the device demonstrated in the field may be found at this link. Videos demonstrating the effects of Neuro20 impacting Neuromuscular conditions may be viewed at https://neuro20.com/reviews.

Call to Action - Since COVID-19 emerged scientists struggle to catch up with the aftermath. Long COVID affects approximately 24 million Americans, 65 million people globally. The American Disability Act recognizes Long COVID as a disability, allowing workplace accommodations to keep people in the workforce. Nearly 45% diagnosed with Long COVID are unable to work. A study at Harvard University estimates Long COVID’s cost to the economy will be nearly $3.7 Trillion dollars.

Neuro20 understands that a clinical approach to solving Long COVID must occur through credible randomized controlled trials. Currently, there are 43 federally funded programs and research projects occurring for Long COVID. Neuro20 requests that Long COVID researchers consider conducting trials utilizing the Neuro20 modality and accurately document efficacy. Neuro20's mission is to help all patients gain access to verified quality care, and therefore the device may be utilized in any community, urban or rural, in clinic or at home.

New National Survey Reveals Teens Are Not Financially Ready for Future

New National Survey Reveals Teens Are Not Financially Ready for Future
Majority of Parents Don't Think Their Teens Understand Personal Finances, Aren't Confident They'll Make Smart Financial Decisions

National Survey Reveals Teens Are Not Financially Prepared for Future

A new survey by Wired Research and Jazmarc Services reveals that parents do not believe their teens understand personal finances, are smart with their money, or will make smart financial decisions in the future.

Teens are ready to start enjoying their summer vacation, and that means that most parents will be footing the bill for their kids’ fun-filled activities. But before they reach for their wallets, parents might want to consider taking this opportunity to teach their teens about financial management. According to a new national survey[1], when it comes to understanding finances, teens need all the help they can get.

Data from the study conducted by global research company Wired Research and commissioned by Jazmarc Services, which reached more than 1,000 U.S. parents of teens ages 14-18, highlights that teens are anything but financially prepared to navigate their future. In fact, if they had to rate their teens’ financial preparedness, only 18% of parents think their teens are extremely prepared.

The new survey results are part of the inaugural 2024 Teen Financial Readiness Report, a deep dive into how financially prepared today’s teens really are. Key takeaways include:

  • Parents believe their child’s financial know-how should start at home:
    • 98% feel responsible for teaching their teens about managing their finances
    • 97% think one of the greatest gifts they can give their teens is the tools to make smart financial decisions
  • Parents doubt their teens; financial preparedness:
    • 7 in 10 (70%) aren’t extremely confident their teens understand personal finances
    • 2 in 3 (63%) aren’t completely convinced that as their teens get older they’ll make smart financial decisions
  • Financial conversations aren’t a focal point:  A majority of parents have not had a conversation about:
    • Selecting insurance to protect their financial future (83%)
    • Investing money (67%)
    • Financially planning for unexpected life events (62%)

According to Danielle Sherman, founder and CEO of Wired Research, “This research comes at a time when states across the country are making personal finance coursework a critical part of high-school graduation requirements and our research validates why this is so important.”

Joshua Marcus, founder of Jazmarc Services, agrees.  He says, “The research highlights just how financially underprepared teens are to enter adulthood. The data clearly underscores that there is still so much parents want to teach their teens so they will be ready to face whatever financial challenges come their way.”
