InStride Health, in collaboration with McLean Hospital (#1 ranked psychiatric hospital in the US), continues to expand its proven care model to more states in the Northeast US
BOSTON, October 5, 2023 (Newswire.com)
-
InStride Health, a specialty pediatric anxiety and OCD treatment provider, released its first annual outcomes report. Based on the treatment of over 350 patients, InStride Health demonstrated clinically meaningful results of its coordinated care model. Ninety percent of all program graduates with initial elevated scores at baseline (GAD7 >= 8) experienced a reduction in anxiety within two months of treatment, with an average symptom reduction of 46%. Within just 4 months of starting treatment, the reduction of anxiety symptoms was clinically meaningful for over 80% of patients. Additionally, within 3 months of enrollment, 82% of patients reported reduced functional impairment. Caregivers also saw a positive impact, with 91% reporting a reduction in their own distress and an 86% reduction in work absenteeism within seven months of their child’s treatment initiation. 100% of patients and 97% of caregivers report they would recommend InStride Health to a friend.
Working in collaboration with McLean Hospital - the largest psychiatric affiliate of Harvard Medical School - InStride Health treats all severity levels for anxiety and OCD, with particular focus on those with moderate to severe conditions where anxiety and/or OCD are interfering with functioning and causing a cascade of additional problems (e.g, social isolation, school avoidance, physical manifestations, depression and hopelessness). InStride Health is taking on the broken mental health system by offering easy, insurance-based access to a clinical team with the training, expertise, and treatment approach specifically geared for the needs of pediatric anxiety and OCD.
InStride’s model is based on strong clinical outcomes data and decades of hands-on experience. InStride’s Harvard-trained clinical co-founders, Mona Potter, MD, and Kathryn Boger, PhD, ABPP, co-developed the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program (MAMP), nationally recognized for its evidence-based approach in treating children and adolescents struggling with moderate to severe anxiety and OCD. Its success serves as the foundation for InStride’s care model. Both Drs. Potter and Boger maintain part-time faculty appointments at McLean Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham. McLean is also providing advisory services to continuously improve InStride’s treatment program.
“As a nurse and strong patient advocate who makes referrals worldwide, I wholeheartedly endorse InStride Health. This is a long-awaited, empirically validated treatment program for those seeking highly educated and well-trained professionals to deliver stellar clinical care efficiently, effectively and even accepts most major insurance plans. InStride Health for the win!” said Bonnie Brown, BS, RN, Nurse Administrator and Health Communications Specialist.
InStride patients and their families engage in a tailored outpatient virtual care journey that can include individual and family therapy, groups for kids and for parents, coaching, and medication management (if appropriate), delivered by a highly experienced and coordinated care team of psychiatrists, therapists, and coaches. “Every member of our team understands what a privilege it is to be part of a child and family's journey,” said John Voith, co-founder and CEO. “We bring heart to our work and ensure we are working smart as we take on our important mission.”
InStride continues to grow throughout the Northeast US. To meet the increasing demand for specialty services, InStride has expanded access to patients and families residing in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Furthermore, InStride Health continues to add new insurance carriers and is now covered by: Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Connecticut, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Hampshire, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, ConnectiCare, Harvard Pilgrim, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Mass General Brigham Health Plan, Optum, Oscar, Oxford, and UnitedHealthcare. More carriers are coming soon.
“Kat (InStride clinical co-founder) and I were very happy in our leadership positions in the academic medical world, until we realized just how great the need was for our treatment beyond our hospital walls,” said Mona Potter, MD, chief medical officer and co-founder of InStride Health. “We built InStride to improve the pediatric mental health system - as moms and clinicians we fully believe we have to fight hard to ensure kids and families get access to care that works - because the right care really changes lives.”
InStride-McLean Collaboration
McLean Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, is a world-recognized leader in psychiatric care, research, professional and community education, outreach, and advocacy and is providing a range of advisory services to further InStride’s growth. Several McLean leaders serve on Instride’s advisory board.
“InStride’s strategic collaboration with McLean, distinguished by their excellence in clinical care, cutting-edge research, and clinical training, positions us to respond to an urgent need to provide effective and accessible care for children, teens, and young adults ages 7-22 years old with anxiety and OCD, particularly those with moderate to severe conditions," said John Voith, chief executive officer and co-founder, InStride Health.
“There is power in the InStride-McLean collaboration,” said Scott L. Rauch, MD, president and psychiatrist in chief, McLean Hospital. “During their tenure at McLean, Drs. Potter and Boger demonstrated deep expertise and passion for helping children and families with anxiety. They are leaders in pediatric mental health and we are thrilled to work with them as they expand access to intensive outpatient anxiety and OCD care and achieve their vision.”

Fresh Knight Sonic Fresh Ultrasonic Cleaner Fresh Knight Unveils 100% Chemical-Free Sonic Fresh Ultrasonic Cleaner. Innovative product first of its kind to use zero chemicals. freshknight.com.
NEW YORK, October 5, 2023 (Newswire.com)
-
Fresh Knight, a trusted brand in oral care committed to helping users put their best smile forward, today announced the release of its Sonic Fresh Ultrasonic Cleaner. The device offers chemical-free cleaning, using sonic action and heat to remove grime and debris from dentures, clear aligners, mouth guards, retainers, and whitening trays. This highly effective and quiet cleaning device for dental appliances is the first of its kind to require only water in the basin, requiring the use of zero chemical tablets or solutions.
Product features and benefits:
Convenient and Portable - Great for at-home or travel use. Sonic Fresh Ultrasonic UV Clean is an all-in-one cleaner for retainers, aligners, and nightguards.
Efficient and Quick - With a powerful ultrasonic cleaner machine and a run time of just five minutes, this device makes a great retainer cleaner, eradicating debris in no time. Its easy-to-use controls and fast cleaning cycle make it a breeze to operate.
Hygiene Redefined - The dental pod features dual action cleaning: three UVC lights that disinfect 99.99% of germs and the sonic action creates thousands of bubbles that gently scrub the surface of the dental appliance. Watch it do the dirty work through the viewing window
Versatile Cleaning - From dentures to clear aligners, the Sonic Fresh Ultrasonic UV Cleaner gets the job done. Its spacious tank lets you clean multiple dental guards or mouthguards simultaneously, saving you time and effort.
High-Quality Sonic Cleaner - Made by Fresh Knight, a leader in oral care products. The product comes with one Sonic Cleaning Device, a power cord, and an instruction manual. The device is designed with high-quality materials to ensure durability and long-lasting performance.
So, what makes this product truly different from others on the market?
No tablets. No chemicals. This revolutionary device uses only water, sonic waves, and the power of UVC light to eradicate bacteria and thoroughly clean dental appliances.
Sonic waves create thousands of microscopic bubbles in the water. The bubbles pop when they hit the appliance in the basin. This popping action gently (but effectively) lifts any plaque or debris from the surface, while the three powerful UV-C lights cause surface bacteria to be destroyed. This unique type of light disrupts the bacteria’s DNA so it can’t replicate.
“This all-in-one solution for hassle-free dental care is designed to cater to various dental needs and is a must-have for anyone with dental appliances," says Liz Fleming, spokesperson for Fresh Knight. “The gentle yet powerful ultrasonic vibrations effectively remove stains, bacteria, and debris from hard-to-reach areas, ensuring that oral appliances remain pristine and hygienic. The best part? No chemicals!”
The Sonic Fresh Ultrasonic Cleaner is now available for purchase on Amazon.
The premiere of Loki season 2 is nearly upon us, and Disney has released a new video which focuses on one of the most exciting additions to the cast: Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
From just ninety seconds of video, Ke Huy Quan’s enthusiasm is infectious, and I can’t wait to see what he brings to Loki season 2. The actor plays Time Variance Authority tech expert OB, a quirky character who is responsible for keeping every piece of tech at the TVA running smoothly.
Loki executive producer Kevin Wright has explained how quickly they had to move in order to sign the Oscar-winning actor up for the show. Marvel casting director Sarah Halley Finn caught an early screening of Everything Everywhere All at Once and suggested they make Quan an offer as soon as possible. “I think Kevin Feige made a call maybe April 12, just to follow up and say, ‘Please, please do this,’” Wright said. “Little did we know, Ke is apparently already a giant Marvel fan and was a big fan of Loki season 1.“
In addition to Ke Huy Quan, Loki season 2 also features Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as the voice of Miss Minutes, and more. Jonathan Majors will also be returning as Victor Timely, a variant of Kang the Conqueror who was introduced in the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors is currently facing allegations of abuse, but Victor Timely will nonetheless play a major role in the new season.
Marvel could be considering a change of plans when it comes to Jonathan Major’s involvement in the franchise following Loki season 2, but nothing has been decided yet. Kang has been expected to be the big bad of The Multiverse Saga, which will conclude with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
The first season of Loki still stands as Marvel’s most-watched series on Disney+, so anticipation is high for the new season. Loki season 2 will debut on Disney+ on October 6th.
The company behind the planned Rebel Moon tabletop game are suing Netflix for allegedly backing out of a deal and refusing to compensate.
Netflix may be gearing up for the winter release of the first part of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon saga – which is totally not a Star Wars ripoff – but if you’re looking for tie-in fun, you might be better off flipping through the novelization. As it turns out, not only was the previously announced Rebel Moon TTRPG (tabletop role-playing game for the newbs) been scrapped, but its creator, Evil Genius Games is even suing Netflix over alledgedly backing out of the deal.
As per Evil Genius’ website, “We signed an official agreement with Netflix on March 22, 2023, to create the game and RPG-related materials, promising a finished game to coincide with the film’s release on December 22, 2023.” Soon after the deal was made, they produced a 228-page World Bibe, a 337-page Game Master’s Guide and a 430-page Player’s Guide for their Rebel Moon game. “Unfortunately, after delivering this unbelievable world and tabletop role-playing game to Netflix, it canceled the contract and is asserting the IP we created, along with the entire game, now belongs to it. Netflix also refused to compensate us fairly for our work.” One of the triggers came when Netflix insisted there was a breach when Evil Genius took materials from the Rebel Moon game to a trade show.
The aforementioned Rebel Moon game’s World Bible was meant to build on Snyder’s universe, which the lawsuit claims was at least partly created to fill in gaps deemed necessary to understand the entirety of the world.
In a statement, Evil Genius CEO said, “Our aim is to ensure our team is recognized for their fantastic work, and that we can release this game for millions of TTRPG enthusiasts to enjoy…It’s disheartening to see Netflix backpedal on content that was jointly showcased and had received their prior consent. We urge our supporters to contact Netflix and Zack Snyder to push for the release of this game.’’ The company has set up various means to help them promote their cause.
Evil Genius Games also has licenses for other major properties such as Escape from New York, Total Recall and Rambo.
The first part of Rebel Moon hits Netflix on December 22nd, while the second is set for April 19th, 2024.
What do you make of the lawsuit between Evil Genius Games and Netflix over the Rebel Moon game? Would you play the TTRPG if it ever hits shelves?

OncoGenesis has patented the first-of-kind cervical cell self-collection device and stands to change the screening industry as it will enable both HPV testing and cytology (aka, Pap testing) from the same, self-collected sample. Combined with the company’s CerMark rapid biomolecular-based analysis of the sample currently in development, OncoGenesis expects to allow complete screening at the point of care or point of need without the need for an extensive laboratory infrastructure.
“I am excited to join OncoGenesis at a time when we are well-positioned to change the care paradigm for cervical cancer screening. We are addressing health inequity issues that exist for women globally, by providing women the ability to self-sample for cancer screening. I look forward to building the organization that will make this happen.”
iPap has demonstrated its ability to allow a woman to self-collect a cervical sample adequate for HPV testing and for cytology, at least as well as a physician-collected sample. iPap is CE-marked and available for sale and research in certain markets. CerMark and its assay are in multiple phases of development, and with the company’s development partner and funding, will initiate clinical studies.
About OncoGenesis, Inc.:
OncoGenesis is on a mission to eradicate death and suffering from cervical cancer by enabling women to have greater access to screening. Through the world’s first and only patented cervical cell self-sampling device – iPap® – and a rapid, Crispr-Cas based biomolecular analysis platform - CerMark® - screening can be done anywhere by anyone without the complexity, cost, or stigma associated with conventional HPV or Cytologic (Pap) testing.

The leader in ADHD assessments will feature a series of podcasts and webinars covering ADHD resources, insights, discussions, destigmatization efforts for this condition, and the pursuit of optimal ADHD treatment.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., October 4, 2023 (Newswire.com)
-
ADHD Online, the leader in online ADHD assessment and diagnosis, highlights ADHD Awareness Month with four webinars featuring providers and leaders from its clinical team, and a daily podcast, Refocused Together '23, presenting 31 stories from a wide array of individuals sharing their unique experiences and perspectives on their ADHD condition and finding ADHD treatment.
The National Institute on Health (NIH) reports the prevalence of ADHD in adults is currently at 4.4%. Since it started, adults make up 98+% of the individuals who have taken ADHD Online's assessment. ADHD Online’s webinar series and podcasts hope to offer solutions, consolation, and understanding to adults in facing these challenges.
The daily podcast, Refocused Together '23, will share a new story every day from October 1 through October 31. The webinar “ADHD & Related Conditions” and its focus on ADHD and conditions that commonly occur with ADHD, like anxiety and OCD, was recorded on October 3, and “ADHD and Binge Eating Disorder,” dealing with commonly misunderstood and overlooked conditions, will be on October 11.
“ADHD & Related Conditions” deals with how people with ADHD also suffer from one or more conditions like ADHD and anxiety or ADHD and OCD. An estimated 70% of adults with ADHD have depression. “ADHD and Binge Eating Disorder” will shed light on ADHD symptoms and their role in people’s eating habits and feelings of shame and discomfort. There are treatments to help patients cope with eating disorders.
The illuminating Refocused Together series will bring together leading authorities, clinicians, and inspirational individuals to share their experiences and insights on ADHD and related conditions. “We are so proud to be a part of this amazing community and contribute to ending the stigma around ADHD and other mental health conditions,” said Keith Boswell, ADHD Online’s Vice President of Marketing.
This program came from a valuable collaboration with Lindsay Guentzel, who took on the full production last year and has since expanded to a complete production team to assist in researching, producing, editing and delivering the podcast.
“Last year, we focused our efforts to help Lindsay Guentzel launch Refocused Together,” said Boswell. “She was still producing the podcast solo at that point. This year, Lindsay's team started production early in the summer. That gave my team time to organize our clinical leads to participate in a weekly webinar series so we could add to the conversation alongside the podcast.
“I hope people join us in raising awareness, partake in the conversation, and be a part of the change in the narrative surrounding ADHD and the stigma around them.”
ADHD Online was founded in 2018 with the mission that everyone should have access to quality ADHD assessments regardless of who and where they are. The animated puppies of Paw Patrol take first while Saw X covers its budget and The Creator gets off to a slow start
Numbers have begun rolling in and it appears they are falling relatively in line with where we saw them on Thursday. As of right now, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is eyeing a first place finish with what is expected to be in the $22 million range as pre-sale numbers mixed with expected matinee walk up business look to be very strong for this animated sequel. I actually went to the movies last night (to see The Equalizer 3 for a second time with some friends who hadn’t yet seen it) and our movie got out around 11pm, as we were standing around outside the theater we noticed a huge crowd of excited kids and parents leaving the theater. You could tell the kids had a blast with the movie they just saw. It is possible they just got out from seeing Saw X, but smart money is on Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie.
Speaking of Saw X, that movie is looking to take second place with what is looking like a $17-$18 million weekend. Horror films, especially tenth films in a franchise, tend to be front loaded as the fans get out to see the movie as soon as possible, so it is possible that number could dip. There have been many people who had given up on the franchise over the years, but seeing that Saw X has the best reviews of the entire series, could get some of those people intrigued enough to check out this newest entry. The good news is that the film carries a low $13 million budget, so this opening number really is quite solid.
As a fan of the series, I can say that I found Saw X to be up there with parts one and two in terms of the story. Nothing will ever top the shock of the ending of the first movie and how masterful that was when the now iconic score by Charlie Clouser kicks in, but this newest installment gave Tobin Bell his biggest platform yet as the driving force of the franchise and he absolutely nailed it. I hope some of the horror specific awards recognize his performance here, I’d even go as far as to say his performance deserves some mainstream awards recognition, but that won’t happen, so hopefully the horror specific ones recognize his flawless performance. You can check out Tyler Nichols 7/10 review here.
Coming in third place is The Creator with what is looking like a $15-$16 million weekend. Why is that number a disaster for this original Science Fiction tale? Because the film cost a reported $80 million before marketing. Early reviews for the film pegged it as a new sci-fi classic, a sentiment echoed by our own Chris Bumbray in his 8/10 review for the film, however as more reviews poured in, the praise has died down a bit with many agreeing the film is a visually stunning piece of work, but the overall movie just seems to lack a bit of bite. That is where I fall on this film. The trailer looked decent, the early reviews got me excited, and then when I was in the theater watching the movie, I was just very disinterested in what I was seeing. The movie just didn’t hold my attention and I found my brain thinking about a million different things instead of what I was seeing on the screen. It seems general audiences are having that same feeling towards this one as it currently has a 75% audience score, which isn’t horrible, just isn’t that great either.
The top five will be rounded out by the spooky one two punch of The Nun II with an additional $5 million as the film continues its slow crawl to $100 million domestic, followed by A Haunting in Venice with another $4 million added to its underwhelming $30 million domestic take.
Our big miss for the week comes by way of the excellent based on a true story stock market film Dumb Money which saw some solid numbers in limited release but doesn’t appear to be crossing over into mainstream appeal with a weekend reported to be just around $3 million. This movie was never going to be a big box office draw, but it is such a great film that I hope it eventually finds an audience.
What do you make of the opening weekend numbers of the three new releases? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to check back tomorrow when we have a full rundown of this weekend’s box office numbers.
We take a deep dive into the second half of the Fast Saga, from Fast Five all the way to Fast X and beyond.
A little while ago, we dug into the first half of the huge Fast Saga. Initially starting as a series of low-wattage B-movies, the series eventually morphed into mega-budget spy adventures that gave the Mission Impossible and James Bond franchises a run for their money. Of all the movies, Fast Five was undoubtedly the turning point, which took Vin Diesel’s Dom and the rest of the Fast Family to Rio, where they went up against a drug lord and met Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Luke Hobbs.
From there, the series went on and on, enduring the death of beloved Fast Family member Paul Walker, a global pandemic, directors coming and going, and a feud between two of the stars that was so intense that it led to a spin-off movie and lots of hurt feelings. We also got larger-than-life villains, including Jason Statham’s Owen Shaw, who became so popular that they made him a good guy in F8, Charlize Theron’s Cypher, and most recently, Jason Momoa’s Reyes.
In this episode of What You Need to Know About This Franchise, we dig into the big-budget Fast Saga movies – from Fast Five to Fast X – Part I, digging into which ones we think are the best, which ones you can skip (and why) and more! And, of course, the franchise is far from over, with the second half of Fast X
Do you think the Fast Saga improved as the budgets increased or jumped the shark sometime around when Roman and Tej went to space? Let us know in the comments.
