Transformers: Rise of the Beasts final trailer brings Unicron and robot mayhem

Paramount Pictures releases the final trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts which gives us Unicron and plenty of robot mayhem.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhexDgW4lhE

With just a few days to go before the release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Paramount Pictures has released the final trailer for the latest installment of the franchise.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts introduces new factions of Transformers, including the Maximals led by Optimus Primal and the Terrorcons led by Scourge. As you can see in the final trailer above, Rise of the Beasts also introduces Unicron, the planet-sized Transformer who devours entire worlds. The gigantic Transformer was first introduced in Transformers: The Movie back in 1986 where he was voiced by Orson Welles. This time around the character is voiced by Colman Domingo of Fear the Walking Dead.

After Michael Bay directed the first five Transformers movies, including Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Transformers: The Last Knight, he passed the baton to Travis Knight for Bumblebee, which served as a soft reboot of the franchise. Bumblebee was a welcome return to form, but will Rise of the Beasts be able to continue the trend? That will be up to you to decide, but our own Eric Walkuski doesn’t think so.

In his review of the film, Walkuski admitted that while the film is a “touch better” than the Micheal Bay movies, it’s still “filled with contrivances and unnecessary clutter.” Still, the film does sound entertaining. “As far as these things go, Rise of the Beasts is not the numbing experience its predecessors were,” Walkuski wrote. “Caple Jr. keeps things moving at a fairly solid pace… What’s encouraging is that the movie takes a little time getting to know its human protagonists, as opposed to instantly throwing us into the clanking, blasting maelstrom of Transformer-on-Transformer violence. That said, there’s plenty of that to be found in the film’s second half, even though at this point if you’ve seen one fight between an Autobot and a Decepticon, you’ve seen them all.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new faction of Transformers – the Maximals – to join them as allies in the existing battle for Earth. The film stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, David Sobolov, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Colman Domingo, Cristo Fernández and Tongayi Chirisa. Rise of the Beasts will hit theaters on June 9th.

Night Screams: 1987 slasher gets a 4K UHD release from Vinegar Syndrome

Night Screams: 1987 slasher gets a 4K UHD release from Vinegar Syndrome

Vinegar Syndrome is giving the 1987 slasher Night Screams, starring Ron Thomas of The Karate Kid, a 4K UHD and Blu-ray release

I’m a huge fan of the slasher sub-genre, particularly of slasher movies that were released in the 1980s. I’ve tried to watch as many ’80s slashers as I could get my hands on, but now and then I’ll hear about one that has slipped through the cracks. One I haven’t seen yet is the 1987 film Night Screams – so I’m glad to hear that Vinegar Syndrome are giving the film a 4K UHD and Blu-ray release. I’m definitely going to be watching this one soon… and if you’re interested in grabbing a copy of Night Screams, you can do so at THIS LINK.

Directed by Allen Plone from a screenplay by Mitch Brian and Dillis L. Hart II, Night Screams has the following synopsis: High school football star David has just won a four-year scholarship to the University of Oklahoma, and – with his parents away for the night – is planning to mark the occasion with a party for his buddies and girlfriend. But, as the evening’s festivities get underway at a local nightclub, two violent fugitives take refuge in the basement of David’s home. When the action moves over to David’s place, it quickly becomes clear that someone is intent on spoiling the celebration – as, one by one, the revelers get picked off and butchered in various gruesome ways. But are the stowaway crooks responsible for the carnage, or is this the work of someone even more unhinged?

Vinegar Syndrome provided the following information: The brainchild of producer/co-writer Dillis L. Hart II and starring Ron Thomas (The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai), the Wichita-lensed Night Screams from director Allen Plone is a late-entry slasher gem which offers up an embarrassment of inventive kills, incorporating electrified hot tubs, bodies crushed under cars, death by poisonous fumes and faces shoved into hamburger grills alongside more “standard” methods of hacking and slashing. Deemed too short by its distributor, the filmmakers added copious amounts of stock sex and violence pulled from other sources, turning an already oddball effort into a fascinating mutant film. Now, for the first time ever, Vinegar Syndrome is proud to present a reconstruction of the filmmakers’ preferred “Pre-Release” cut (alongside the standard theatrical version), all newly restored in 4K from the original camera negative, along with a brand new, feature-length documentary telling the fascinating and sometimes tumultuous tale behind the making of this regional slasher favorite.

Ron Thomas is joined in the cast by Joseph Paul Manno, Randy Lundsford, Megan Wyss, and Janette Caldwell.

Here’s what to expect from this release of Night Screams: 3-disc Region Free Set: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray x2 – 4K UHD presented in High-Dynamic-Range – Newly scanned & restored in 4K from its 35mm original camera negative – Includes both its Pre-Release and Standard Theatrical versions – Brand new commentary track with director Allen Plone & cinematographer Eric Anderson, moderated by special features producer Ewan Cant – “Blood and Chopsticks: Echoes of Night Screams” (80 min) – a brand new making-of documentary featuring interviews with its cast and crew – Introduction for the Pre-Release version with executive producer Richard Caliendo and co-writer/producer Dillis L. Hart II – Original trailer – Reversible sleeve artwork – English SDH subtitles

For a movie I’ve never heard anyone talk about, Night Screams is getting a very impressive release.

Will you be buying this 4K UHD / Blu-ray release of Night Screams? Let us know by leaving a comment below – and if you have seen the movie before, definitely let us know what you thought of it!

Credello: How Immigrants Can Build Credit

Credello: Building credit is an essential step for immigrants who are looking to establish themselves in a new country. A strong credit history opens doors to various financial opportunities, like securing loans, renting an apartment, or even starting a business. However, newcomers often face unique challenges when it comes to building credit.

One common question among immigrants is, "How long does it take to build credit?" While there is no fixed timeline, building a positive credit history generally takes time and consistent effort. The key is to start early and be patient. Here are some steps that immigrants can take to kick-start their credit-building journey.

How to start building credit

Firstly, it's important to understand that credit is not solely dependent on credit cards. Immigrants can build credit without a credit card by utilizing alternative credit-building methods.

Get a secured credit card

Unlike traditional credit cards, secured cards require a deposit that serves as collateral. By using a secured card responsibly and making timely payments, immigrants can demonstrate their credit-worthiness and gradually build credit.

Become an authorized user

Another way to build credit is by becoming an authorized user on someone else's credit card. This strategy involves being added to a trusted family member or friend's credit card account. As an authorized user, immigrants can benefit from the primary cardholder's positive credit history, boosting their own credit score over time. However, it's crucial to choose the right person and ensure that the primary cardholder maintains a good payment record.

Credit builder loans

Additionally, immigrants can explore credit-builder loans. These loans are specifically designed to help individuals build credit from scratch or repair damaged credit. Credit-builder loans work by depositing a set amount into a locked savings account, which the borrower makes regular payments toward. Once the loan term is complete, the borrower receives the deposited amount, along with a positive credit history that reflects their responsible repayment behavior.

Find immigrant-specific programs

Another effective strategy is to establish relationships with financial institutions that offer programs designed for immigrants. Some banks and credit unions provide specialized credit products tailored to the needs of newcomers. These programs often offer lower credit requirements or alternative credit evaluation methods, taking into account factors like employment history, rental payments, and utility bills. By leveraging these programs, immigrants can start building credit while establishing a banking relationship that may lead to additional financial opportunities.

General credit-building tips

In addition to these strategies, it's essential for immigrants to practice responsible financial habits. Paying bills on time, including rent, utilities, and other recurring expenses, is crucial for building credit. Developing a budget and maintaining a low debt-to-income ratio is also vital. Immigrants should avoid taking on unnecessary debt and keep their credit utilization ratio below 30% to demonstrate responsible credit management.

Immigrants should also regularly monitor their credit reports. By obtaining a free credit report from each of the major credit bureaus annually, individuals can check for errors, unauthorized accounts, or potential identity theft. Promptly addressing any inaccuracies can help protect their credit standing and ensure fair representation of their creditworthiness.

Bottom Line

Building credit as an immigrant may require patience and careful planning, but it is an essential step toward financial independence. By employing alternative credit-building methods, like secured credit cards and credit-builder loans, and establishing relationships with immigrant-friendly financial institutions, newcomers can start building credit even without a credit card. Additionally, practicing responsible financial habits and monitoring credit reports regularly will contribute to a strong credit profile over time. Remember, building credit is a journey, and with determination and perseverance, immigrants can pave the way to a brighter financial future.

The RDS-32a by TMG Health Technologies provides a 30-second solution for the deactivation of virulent\npathogens that is independently certified for performance and efficacy.

TMG Health Technologies, a biosafety company recognized by Healthcare Tech Outlook Magazine as a Top Ten Infection Prevention Solutions Provider 2022, was recently asked to implement testing and assist in writing the IFU (Instructions For Use) on the latest battery-powered respiratory masks and imaging products. Their model RDS-32a desktop and mobile UVC decontamination system has become the go-to solution for fast, efficient, repeatable disinfection protocol of health electronics, devices, and non-critical, multi-use patient tools.

Disinfection of respiratory and imaging components has been typically accomplished by the application of chemical germicides that have resulted in shortened product life cycles, damage to the product casings and electrical connections. [See ECRI Top 10 Technology Hazards 2019¹] Because these classes of products are shared amongst healthcare workers and are required use in the diagnosis and care of patients, they are used repeatedly and often. Simplifying the disinfection process to a 30-second, chemical-free, warranty-friendly, single UVC cycle is of great benefit to the operator in efficiency and time saved. It is also beneficial to the facility because it creates a repeatable standard of disinfection that results in both supply and life-cycle cost savings.

The RDS-32a by TMG Health Technologies provides a 30-second solution for the deactivation of virulent pathogens that is independently certified for performance and efficacy. This non-chemical disinfection method does not damage sensitive equipment and accommodates its repetitive, multi-patient use. The consistent use of UVC germicidal irradiation in short 30-second cycles has tested safe for items including plastics, rubber seals, tubes, straps, electronics, batteries, and filters. TMG Health Technologies welcomes the opportunity to test (without charge) equipment, products and packaged supplies from other manufacturers used in a healthcare facility for the evaluation of UVC as a disinfection solution and will assist in the formulation of an official IFU. The RDS-32a is independently certified to provide more than 12 times the germicidal dosage required to deactivate the Covid virus, its variants, and other major pathogens in 30 seconds. Hospitals and healthcare providers who have utilized the RDS-32a Rapid UVC Decontamination System consider it a game-changing innovation as a disinfection tool that simplifies the disinfection protocol to the time it takes to clean hands. Nourse Farms Adopts California LightWorks MegaDrive LED System to Maximize Year-Round Berry Production

Nourse Farms Adopts California LightWorks MegaDrive LED System to Maximize Year-Round Berry Production
California LightWorks deployed its MegaDrive lighting technology at Nourse Farms, enabling year-round plant growth with reduced installation costs and increased efficiency.

MegaDrive LED System by California LightWork

Nourse Farms maximizes berry production with MegaDrive LED System by California LightWorks.

California LightWorks, a leading provider of horticultural lighting solutions, today announced yet another successful deployment of its MegaDrive lighting technology at Nourse Farms in Whately, Massachusetts. Nourse Farms is a large producer of starter plants for a wide variety of berries. While already producing north of 40 million plants a year, Nourse Farms is aggressively expanding its annual output. However, lack of sufficient sunlight dramatically slows down production in the winter months. This is especially problematic because most Nourse Farms customers want their starter plants in the ground as early as possible in the springtime.  Therefore, steady production over the winter months is essential to meet this peak demand in the early spring. This is very difficult, if not impossible, to achieve in a greenhouse with sunlight alone over the winter in Massachusetts.

"Supplemental lighting during the winter months is mission-critical for our business," said John Place, CEO at Nourse Farms. "To meet customer demand year-round, we need a dependable yet efficient lighting solution. We adopted the California LightWorks MegaDrive system because of its reliability and industry-leading efficiency."

Adding typical supplemental lights to an existing greenhouse requires power outlets all over the canopy. This means extensive wiring and electrical infrastructure. The patented MegaDrive system eliminates the need for outlets by powering up to 27 fixtures from one driver located at the end of the greenhouse.  This means no power drops over the canopy, no conduits, no contactor panels, or expensive electrical contractor bills. Removing all the driver electronics from the top of the canopy where the temperature tends to be the highest also markedly increases the reliability of the system. The result is an up to 80% reduction in installation cost while significantly increasing the product lifespan.

"We custom-tailored the MegaDrive LED System for Nourse Farms to deliver consistent growth even in the middle of winter when sunlight levels are at a minimum in Massachusetts," said George Mekhtarian, CEO of California LightWorks. "MegaDrive's high-intensity light levels and two-channel spectrum control allow the farm to maintain even production across all seasons with the least amount of energy usage.  Compared to other greenhouse lighting solutions, MegaDrive has proven less expensive to install, offers better controls, and runs more efficiently. The spectrum control feature of the MegaDrive system even allows Nourse Farms to tailor the growth of their starter plants to the season and growth targets."

About California Lightworks

Since 2008 California Lightworks has been a pioneer in advanced technology LED lighting for horticulture. All products are designed and manufactured in our Southern California factory. The company stands behind every product it has ever made. From small-scale home growth to large-scale indoor and greenhouse applications, the company offers optimal lighting solutions. California Lightworks has helped reduce carbon emissions by 640,493 metric tons.

Quentin Tarantino slams streaming movies: “It’s almost like they don’t even exist”

Quentin Tarantino slams streaming movies: “It’s almost like they don’t even exist”

Quentin Tarantino slams streaming movies, saying that it’s almost like they don’t even exist in the zeitgeist.

While many directors have embraced the streaming world, it’s safe to say that we won’t see Quentin Tarantino making a movie for Netflix anytime soon.

While speaking with Deadline, Quentin Tarantino took aim at streaming services where it feels like the projects exist to feed the content machine instead of being remembered. “I mean, and I’m not picking on anybody, but apparently for Netflix, Ryan Reynolds has made $50 million on this movie and $50 million on that movie and $50 million on the next movie for them,” Tarantino said. “I don’t know what any of those movies are. I’ve never seen them. Have you? I haven’t ever talked to Ryan Reynolds’ agent, but his agent is like, ‘Well, it cost $50 million.’ Well, good for him that he’s making so much money. But those movies don’t exist in the zeitgeist. It’s almost like they don’t even exist.

Not to continue picking on Ryan Reynolds, but Quentin Tarantino does have a point. Will movies like 6 Underground or Red Notice be remembered as anything other than big-budget misfires?

Quentin Tarantino also spoke about going out on top with his final film, The Movie Critic. “I like the idea of giving it my all for 30 years and then saying, ‘OK, that’s enough.’ And I don’t like working to diminishing returns,” Tarantino said. “And I mean, now is a good time because I mean, what even is a motion picture anyway anymore? Is it just something that they show on Apple? That would be diminishing returns.” That’s part of the reason why Tarantino will likely be doing his last movie with Sony. “I’m probably going to be doing the movie with Sony because they’re the last game in town that is just absolutely, utterly, committed to the theatrical experience,” Tarantino said. “It’s not about feeding their streaming network. They are committed to theatrical experience. They judge success by asses on seats. And they judge success by the movies entering the zeitgeist, not just making a big expensive movie and then putting it on your streaming platform. No one even knows it’s there.

Speaking of The Movie Critic, Quentin Tarantino recently teased that the film is set in 1977 California and “is based on a guy who really lived, but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag.

Do you agree with Quentin Tarantino about streaming movies? What made-for-streaming movies will continue to be remembered years down the road?
