Houghton has been a medical assistant for 21 years. She has worked in many specialty practices and currently works in a family practice.

The Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)® — or CMA (AAMA) — credential represents a medical assistant who has been credentialed through the Certifying Board of the AAMA. The Certifying Board of the AAMA was awarded accreditation by the International Accreditation Service under ISO/IEC Standard 17024:2012, the global benchmark for personnel certification bodies, thus distinguishing the CMA (AAMA) from all other medical assisting certifications.

The Watchers: Georgina Campbell joins Dakota Fanning in Ishana Night Shyamalan thriller

The Watchers: Georgina Campbell joins Dakota Fanning in Ishana Night Shyamalan thriller

Georgina Campbell has signed on to join Dakota Fanning in the thriller The Watchers, directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan

We recently heard that Barbarian star Georgina Campbell had signed on to star in the virus thriller Cold Storage with Liam Neeson and Joe Keery, and that she’s taking the lead in the thriller Psycho Killer, written by Se7en scribe Andrew Kevin Walker. Now The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that Campbell is also set to join Dakota Fanning in the cast of a thriller called The Watchers, which marks the feature directorial debut of M. Night Shyamalan’s daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan. Filming is expected to begin in Ireland later this year, and a June 7, 2024 theatrical release has already been scheduled.

Fanning will take on the role of Mina, a 28-year-old artist who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. Campbell’s character is one of the three strangers.

The younger Shyamalan has written the screenplay for The Watchers, based on a novel by A.M. Shine (pick up a copy HERE).

New Line Cinema’s Richard Brener provided the following statement: “We couldn’t be more excited to make Ishana’s first film with The Watchers. Equal parts visual, immersive, and terrifying, the script grips you from the first page and never lets go.

M. Night Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan are producing The Watchers for Blinding Edge Pictures. Nimitt Mankad of Inimitable Pictures is also producing. Jo Homewood serves as executive producer.

Ishana Night Shyamalan has been an important part of the creative team behind her father’s Apple TV+ series Servant, writing and/or directing multiple episodes. Speaking about his daughter’s work on Servant last year, M. Night Shyamalan told Entertainment Weekly, “She has slightly more of a fantasy bend than I do. She speaks in bolder colors than I do. The camera is more canted or more grotesque in showing someone scarier. The disadvantage of being an accomplished artist is that your experience starts working against you. I see less options, because I’ve done so many things. She doesn’t see that; for her, everything is possible. There are advantages and disadvantages to the levels of experience that we each have.”

In addition to her work on Servant, Ishana Night Shyamalan has also worked as second unit director on her father’s movies Old and Knock at the Cabin, and she has directed four music videos for her sister Saleka. She is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and was still attending the school when she started working on Servant.

I was impressed by Georgina Campbell’s performance in Barbarian, so I’m glad to hear she’ll be in The Watchers with Dakota Fanning. What do you think of this casting news? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

Apprentice ranks as a Visionary in the 2023 Magic Quadrant for manufacturing Execution Systems

Apprentice.io, which helps life science manufacturers get treatments to patients faster by providing one platform to turn molecules into medicine, announced today it has been placed as a Visionary in the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

This year, Apprentice was recognized as a Visionary for its Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. Last year in 2022, we were placed as a Niche Player in the same report. We think this an improvement in our position.

Apprentice's Tempo Manufacturing Cloud improves operations at the site level by coordinating the materials, equipment, recipes, and personnel needed to plan, execute, test, and release a batch from one shared system. Using our newly announced Connected Manufacturing Network (CMN), companies can now connect all sites together to view, manage, and accelerate the end-to-end drug production lifecycle.

This report states, "The next phase in the evolution of MES will be the convergence of technologies (processes) that support end-to-end supply chain planning and execution functions."

"We are building our Tempo Manufacturing Cloud to go beyond the traditional boundaries of MES and deliver on the vision of convergent technology that accelerates the entire supply chain," said Angelo Stracquatanio, CEO & Co-founder of Apprentice. "Our customers are recognizing that traditional software vendors can't innovate fast enough to keep up with the rapid change happening in life sciences."

Since this assessment has been completed, Apprentice raised an additional $65 million in funding led by ICONIQ Growth to sustain its incredibly rapid pace of innovation and released a new product, CMN. CMN knits together the disparate teams and sites across internal and external manufacturing to manage and accelerate production from one centralized platform.

With a total of $207M in raised capital and a year of outstanding growth recognized by the Inc. 5000 and Deloitte Fast 500 as one of the fastest-growing companies in America, Apprentice plans to continue building international support for its multinational customers.

Sifter and Ayble Announce Partnership to Transform the Management of Chronic Digestive Diseases Through Diet
Sifter technology is helping Ayble Health deliver a best-in-class dietary support tool for people with IBS, IBD, and other GI conditions

Sifter SP, Inc. and Ayble Health, Inc. have entered a partnership to integrate Sifter's innovative Shop By Diet technology and enhanced food and nutrition data into Ayble's precision nutrition program. This partnership provides Ayble members an unprecedented level of dietary support for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and other chronic digestive conditions.

It's all about diet personalization: one size fits none. Ayble's HIPAA-compliant digital gastroenterology care platform, powered by Sifter technology, combines behavior science and clinical protocols to radically improve the standard of care for IBS/IBD patients.

Ayble's precision nutrition program guides users through a personalized elimination diet that features Sifter's extensive, curated food product database and powerful Shop By Diet filtering. Through four phases of the Ayble program—identify, eliminate, reintroduce, and apply/adjust—Ayble members suffering from IBS/IBD are able to build the least restrictive diet that most improves their symptoms, with the support of an expert coach. Throughout this process, users have access to Sifter's industry-leading food discovery engine and barcode scanner, allowing them to apply their personalized therapeutic diet to their regular grocery shopping routine.

Because accuracy is critical, Ayble integrated Sifter technology to provide enhanced food data and dietitian-vetted filtering to formulate IBS/IBD-friendly diets and help members assess trigger foods. "One of the most challenging parts of dietary experimentation for digestive disease patients is the 'so what' part, namely how to change purchasing and cooking habits. Our goal at Ayble is to ensure patients can actually adhere to the diet that's helping them manage symptoms. Sifter is an industry leader in the field, and we're proud to be partnering with them on this important initiative," stated Sam Jactel, CEO and founder at Ayble Health.

Sifter provides an unparalleled level of precision in finding foods that are appropriate for complex, health-focused diets thanks to an extensive enhanced food product database that is cleaned, curated, and evaluated in the context of more than 200 dietary filters and ingredient exclusions.

"A growing number of progressive, next-gen companies like Ayble are using Sifter's API to power their digital health platforms," noted Andrew Parkinson, Sifter CEO and co-founder. "We became the industry leader based on solid science, accurate data, and AI-driven technology. Transformative digital health platforms like Ayble understand the power of offering personalized grocery shopping functionality to their members and customers, and they share Sifter's passion to make healthy eating easy for everyone."

About Sifter:
Pioneering grocery ecommerce entrepreneurs Andrew and Thomas Parkinson, founders of Peapod and ItemMaster, created Sifter to make healthy eating easy for everyone. Sifter technology was built to support both retail and healthcare enterprise platforms that realize healthy eating is good for business. Registered Clear Zones Are Businesses That Prioritize the Health and Safety of Their Customers and Employees

Registered Clear Zone Badge

Businesses using the Clear Zone protocols and products display this Registered Clear Zone Badge.

Recently featured in the Towne Post Network - Clear Zones is excited to announce a new solution to a problem every business faces: proving to their customers and employees that their establishment is truly clean.

A recent study revealed that 84% of customers want to see certification of cleanliness by a trusted authority, yet until now, businesses in most communities lacked a consistent and recognizable way to provide that proof.

Most businesses have a cleaning plan in place, but more often than not, those plans fall short — and customers and employees could be vulnerable to illness. Clear Zones co-founder, Brent Engelman, explains why.

"Leading disinfectants require dwell time on surfaces to effectively kill germs, which means wiping down a table seconds before a customer sits down won't cut it," Engelman says.

"And even if mandatory dwell times are met, those surfaces are immediately recontaminated the moment someone coughs, sneezes, or touches them. To top it off, chemical disinfectants destroy the surfaces they're supposed to clean. That's why so many tabletops, chairs, and menus are sticky. Sticky is never clean."

Clear Zones is a better way. Every business that becomes a Registered Clear Zone receives a customized cleaning protocol and a Registered Clear Zone Badge that proves their space is cleaner and safer for everyone.

All Clear Zones use MonoFoil, a unique disinfectant and antimicrobial that is 100% safe for people and animals. The product was developed and patented by Engelman and his business partner, Nate Richardson.

It kills germs on contact and keeps protecting for up to 24 hours, making it more effective than the chemical cleaners most businesses use today.

"It's the antimicrobial piece that provides the durability. Yes, it disinfects, but as soon as our product dries, it creates a physical barrier on the surface that stays active for up to 24 hours," Engelman explains. "You can't see, feel, or smell it, but that active barrier is what keeps the surface cleaner longer."

Any business can become a Registered Clear Zone, including restaurants, gyms, schools and daycares, healthcare and dental offices, wellness facilities, apartment communities, office buildings, municipalities, and more.

Becoming a Registered Clear Zone means more than just a higher standard of cleanliness. The product protects surfaces longer, the protocol makes disinfection training for employees simpler and more comprehensive, and the Badge gives customers the proof of clean they're demanding.

For businesses interested in becoming Registered Clear Zones, start by applying at clearzones.com. If you're approved, you receive your welcome kit, custom cleaning protocol, and MonoFoil product. Follow your protocol and display your Registered Clear Zone Badge on your doors, windows, website, and social media pages.

Alix Goss and Leslie Amorós to Join Point-of-Care-Partners in Next Step of Collaborators Working to Advance Interoperability

Point-of-Care Partners (POCP), a leading health IT management consulting firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Alix Goss and Leslie Amorós to its team. Both are joining POCP from Imprado, where they worked on various projects with POCP since 2018 and 2019, respectively.

David Grinberg, owner and president of DynaVet Solutions and Imprado, will be taking a step back from the Imprado side of the business due to family and health reasons. During this time, he will continue to focus on DynaVet. Grinberg expressed his enthusiasm for Goss and Amorós joining POCP, saying, "It was important to me as I take a step back to know that these two extraordinary leaders could carry on their important work, and the industry could continue to benefit from their leadership and insight into some of the biggest challenges in the health technology and interoperability space."

POCP and Imprado have a long-standing relationship, and the consultants' move to join POCP is a natural progression that offers continuity of service for their clients and for the industry committees and thought leadership positions they hold.

Goss is joining POCP as a senior consultant and will continue her work on the HL7 Da Vinci Project in addition to advising the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council. Goss will also continue her role as Chair of HL7's Policy Advisory Committee, building on her longstanding industry efforts such as her role as co-chair of the Standards Subcommittee of the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics.

Amorós is joining as a senior communications/PR consultant and will continue to focus on communications and marketing services for HL7 Da Vinci and HL7 CodeX FHIR Accelerators, as well as consult with the Pennsylvania Health Insurance Exchange Authority on the commonwealth's online health coverage marketplace, provide Delaware Health Net with crisis communications training, and advise other POCP clients. Both Goss and Amorós will continue to support the Pennsylvania eHealth Partnership Program and its PA Patient & Provider Network, or P3N, and will be available to work on other POCP consulting projects. POCP provides market intelligence; business and product strategy; and program, product, and project management to a variety of different health IT stakeholders including payers, providers, pharmacies, technology companies, and the Federal government.

Tony Schueth, CEO of POCP, said, "We are thrilled to have Alix and Leslie join us. We've worked alongside them for years and have always thought of them as valued team members, so to have them join us in an official way is just really wonderful. We look forward to having them be part of the POCP family for years to come."
