Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk canceled amid Facebook Watch axing

Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk canceled amid Facebook Watch axing

Jada Pinkett Smith is out of a job, as her talk show, Red Table Talk, joins the list of programs cut after Facebook Watch closure.

It won’t just be Chris Rock keeping Jada Pinkett Smith’s name out their mouth, as her online talk show, Red Table Talk, has joined the lengthy list of series canceled following Facebook Watch’s shuttering. So maybe she has time for G.I. Jane 2 after all…

Jada Pinkett Smith addressed the cancellation in an Instagram post, writing, “We are so grateful to have had such a beautiful partnership with Facebook Watch and we are sorry to see the entire team disband. We wish everyone well in their new journeys to come…We at Red Table are in talks of finding a new home and we’ll see you soon.” Red Table Talk launched in 2018, running for five seasons and nearly 130 episodes.

While the cancellation of Jada Pinkett Smith’s show is a direct result of Meta shutting down Facebook Watch originals, one would be justly skeptical if Westbrook–the company founded by the Smiths–could find a new home for it. After all, both Willie and Jada are far from being in public favor…something to do with a violent overreaction to a mediocre joke, we think.

Although Red Table Talk may not have been on everyone’s minds (seriously, how many of us thought, What has Jada Pinkett Smith even been up to?, during the Oscars debacle last year?), it was quite popular on Facebook, with 11 million followers and around 600,000 group members. Still, it missed a major viewership boost by mostly dodging the topic of The Slap. Instead of devoting an episode to it, they essentially brushed it off the month after.

Red Table Talk has the following description on its official website: “Welcome to the table, where we tackle current social and cultural issues with an inter-generational perspective.” Also on the site: “Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow, and mother Gammy – three generations of women open their home for a series of candid conversations with family and friends about the most important and provocative topics of the day.” The show, for some reason or another, spawned a spinoff starring Gloria Estefan and her family.

Do you see Red Table Talk continuing or will public fallout over the Smith family be too strong? Give us your take below!

KeepsakeMom, a one-of-a-kind breastmilk jewelry company focused on unique creations that celebrate and preserve this special time between mother and child, is pleased to announce a Kickstarter campaign that will allow mothers to create their own breastmilk jewelry at home. The campaign aims to raise funds for the development of four different DIY breastmilk jewelry kits — appropriately timed for Mother's Day and featuring rewards centered around the holiday.

Launching May 1, 2023, KeepsakeMom has a $10,000 Kickstarter goal to fund the DIY kit materials, design, and packaging. Pledges will be accepted through Mother's Day on May 14, with a 7-tier rewards program:

  • Pledge $79 or more to receive the Super Early Mother's Day price
  • Pledge $89 or more for the Early Mother's Day price
  • Pledge $99 or more for the Mothers' Day Kickstarter price
  • Pledge $179 or more for the Mother's Day BFF package, and receive two DIY kits
  • Pledge $189 or more for the Mothers' Day Mix & Match, and receive two different DIY kits
  • Pledge $249 or more for two DIY kits and a behind-the-scenes studio tour video
  • Pledge $449 or more for the Mother's Day Superstar price and receive all four DIY kits and the behind-the-scenes studio tour video

Each DIY kit celebrates and honors a mother's breastfeeding journey, serving as cherished mementos of the commitment and determination required of breastfeeding. Since every mother's breastmilk is different, with different shades and consistencies, each piece of breastmilk stone jewelry is entirely unique and personal. DIY Kit No. 1 is Harmony, a ring with seven dainty, customizable breastmilk stone gems beautifully inlaid in a gold-plated setting. DIY Kit No. 2 is Burst of Love, a breastmilk stone ring featuring a 6x8mm custom-made, oval-shaped stone that is inlaid on each side with a cluster of dazzling cubic zirconia. Bundle of Joy is DIY Kit No. 3, featuring a breastmilk stone ring with a rounded oval stone set in a 114-gauge silver band. The final DIY kit is To the Moon and Back, a necklace that transforms breastmilk into a beautiful keepsake pendant with pearl powder for a pearlescent look and opal effect.

The high-quality DIY breastmilk jewelry kits provide everything needed for at-home creations, including breast milk preservation powder, syringe, parchment paper, liquid acrylic resin, liquid resin hardener, mini measuring cups, stirring sticks, silicone mold (depending on the setting), stirring stick, toothpicks, jewelry setting, jewelry box, mini funnel, mini glass container, and step-by-step instructions. Creators may also choose to add additional personal elements for further customization, such as color shimmers, gold or silver flakes, and even a lock of their baby's hair.

"We're thrilled to be launching this Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for unique, beautiful breastmilk jewelry making kits that will help countless mothers forever preserve this cherished time in their life," said KeepsakeMom Founder Anna Thachuk. "A woman's breastfeeding journey represents the start of a beautiful bond between mother and child, and these pieces of keepsake jewelry celebrate that emotional closeness and serve as a lifelong reminder of their beginnings."

The KeepsakeMom Kickstarter campaign will run from May 1-15, with packaging design and materials purchased between May 16-31. Packaging production will take place from June 1-15, with kits assembled and shipped between June 16-30. Estimated delivery for all pre-orders made through the Kickstarter campaign is July 2023.

KeepsakeMom has been creating exquisite breastmilk jewelry since 2020. The company's breastmilk jewelry line is a unique collection made entirely from breast milk, inspired by Thachuk's personal story. She found breastfeeding to be a blissful bonding experience with her first child, only to be disheartened just two months into her breastfeeding journey when her supply rapidly diminished. Understanding the incredible value of breast milk and the bond it fostered with her child, she decided to learn the art of breastmilk curing to create these stunning works of art. You can see the full collection of necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, and more, and learn more about Anna's story, at https://www.keepsakemom.com.

Professor’s Beloved Board Game ‘Personal Preference’ Gets a 21st-Century Makeover Thanks to Dedicated Fans

Professor’s Beloved Board Game ‘Personal Preference’ Gets a 21st-Century Makeover Thanks to Dedicated Fans
Second Edition of Personal Preference Available on Kickstarter During May

Personal Preference Game

Group playing the new edition of the Personal Preference board game

After three-and-a-half decades, a popular board game, Personal Preference, is getting a major upgrade. The 1988 game, which sold hundreds of thousands of copies and became a favorite of Hollywood celebrities, is finally spawning a new, updated version. Thanks to the efforts of a group of devoted fans and the game's original creator, retired Purdue Professor Don Carlston, players both old and new will be able to enjoy a modern take on this classic favorite.

What's unique about Personal Preference is the expertise that went into its creation and the devotion of its enthusiasts. The original game was based on Professor Carlston's academic research and was created to serve as an icebreaker and help people get to know each other better.

Some cards in the original game became dated and, over the years, countless fans reached out to Carlston with requests for new cards or offers to buy the rights to the game so it could be updated. Eventually, he decided to team up with some of his most persistent fans to make the new edition a reality. This core team was bolstered by a group of 50 diehard devotees who came together over Zoom during the pandemic to play test and evaluate potential topics. "It really was an international team effort," says Carlston, "with volunteers from the U.S. and Canada and even Great Britain. And the result is a version that is even better than the original."

Carlston suggests that the lasting success of Personal Preference is because "most people enjoy hearing others' impressions of their likes and dislikes, and they also enjoy revealing and explaining their true tastes and preferences. These are the things that define who we are, so they are also the best way to get to know and connect with others." Now, as we come out of the isolation of the pandemic, the dedication of a group of devoted Personal Preference fans will give old and new players alike a fun, new way to reconnect with friends and family.

HelloPrenup & the Knot Promote Prenups in ‘Get the Prenup’
The Knot, a leading wedding publication, featured the premier prenuptial agreement platform, HelloPrenup, to propose the importance of prenups when entering into marriage.

The informative series, "Get the Prenup," written by Deputy Editor, Esther Lee, in The Knot Magazine Summer 2023 Inspiration Issue, with designed illustrations by Abby McCartin, gets on one knee about the benefits of prenuptial agreements and how at minimum, a prenup can encourage communication before entering marriage.

Prenuptial agreements by nature are designed to be a wealth planning tool and act as a key resource for getting on the same page financially as their partner.

"While each marriage differs, a solid prenup unifies couples in at least one respect: It encourages communication as you prepare for marriage…With contractual services available online, there's little reason not to discuss your financial solution with your partner. Trust us: Sign the prenup before the marriage license." - Esther Lee, Deputy Editor, The Knot

Though prenups have traditionally been seen as "taboo" or "unromantic," there's an increasing shift in prenup perceptions among millennials and Gen-Zers and how the benefits mitigate potential risks encountered prior to getting into a legally binding contract.

"Our data found that 46% of couples describe prenups as 'smart,' while another 20 percent perceived these contracts to be 'cynical," says Lee.

Featured within the article is Julia Rodgers, the Chief Prenup Officer and CEO of HelloPrenup—the online prenuptial agreement platform for affordable, timely, and collaborative prenups. Traditionally, the prenuptial agreement process was sought through billable attorney hours, lengthy contract negotiations, and relatively adversarial conversations between partners and their counsel. Within the article, she gives examples of how states view money as a married couple and what to consider when discussing the couple's future.

"Without a prenuptial agreement, in most states, monetary gifts received during the marriage will be considered marital property. A prenup allows couples to decide if they would like these monetary gifts to be considered separate property." — Julia Rodgers, CEO & co-founder, HelloPrenup

HelloPrenup's mission is to get every couple the legal protection they need without spending thousands of hours or dollars on prioritizing their financial future before entering one of the most exciting times of their lives.

Ursuline College Adds New Nurse Anesthesia Program Through Innovative Corporate Collaboration

Ursuline College announces the addition of a nurse anesthesia specialty to its Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program in collaboration with SNAP — Somnia Nurse Anesthesia Program, LLC — a privately owned nurse anesthesia educational company. The Ursuline College with SNAP, an innovative full-time, 36-month program, prepares baccalaureate-educated nurses to become nurse anesthetists and features a hybrid format with online coursework and in-person simulated and clinical learning experiences.

"We're excited about this unique partnership. It allows Ursuline to expand its repertoire of leading-edge healthcare programs while helping meet a national healthcare shortage of nurse anesthetists," states Patricia A. Sharpnack, DNP, RN, CNE, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAAN, dean and Strawbridge Professor of Ursuline College's Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions.

The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) reports approximately 2,400 CRNAs graduate each year, a number falling far short of the additional 7,600 positions needed by 2028 according to Bureau of Labor Statistics projections. As of 2022, new graduates from nurse anesthesia programs are required to have a terminal degree such as a DNP to enter practice.

"This national program has clinical sites across the United States and students are only required to travel to Ursuline College three times in three years for simulation workshops," says Stephanie B. Woodruff, DNP, CRNA, CHSE, program director of Ursuline College with SNAP. "This online platform offers students the convenience of synchronous learning while furthering their advanced practice nursing careers."

Pending approval by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA), Ursuline College will start accepting applications in May 2023. The program is slated to begin in January of 2024, with clinical practicums beginning in January 2025.

OLA GOLD BEAUTY — The Natural, Vegan and Melanin-Approved Personal Care and Skincare Line Has Taken the Market by Storm
OLA GOLD BEAUTY's April Launch Sold Out in Record Time, Prompting the Company to Introduce More New Products to Its Customers May 1

Introducing OLA GOLD BEAUTY — the natural, vegan, and melanin-approved personal care and skincare line that has taken the market by storm. Created by Daisha Agboola, formerly known as Daisha Collins, OLA GOLD BEAUTY has quickly become a go-to brand for those seeking high-quality, natural, and nourishing products for their skin and body.

Agboola's journey began in college during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020 when she realized that most dermatologists were not accepting appointments due to the pandemic. As a result, she turned to store-bought products to take care of her skin, but she soon discovered that they were not effective for melanin skin. Her husband's dermatitis condition worsened with the use of store-bought products, and this led her to research the ingredients used in these products.

After realizing that many beauty products on the market contain cancerous ingredients, harsh chemicals, parabens, phthalates, and sulfates, Agboola decided to take matters into her own hands. She began creating her own herbal and vitamin-infused products from scratch, using natural and nourishing ingredients that she knew were safe for her skin and body. She started producing the products in her kitchen and before long, her friends and family began to notice the difference in her skin's health and appearance.

Fast forward to January 2021, and OLA GOLD BEAUTY was born. The brand offers a range of natural and luxurious personal care products that provide the skin and body with nutrients, natural herbs, and vitamins, delivering moisture, hydration, improvement, and added protection. The products are free from petroleum, formaldehydes, harsh chemicals, parabens, phthalates, and sulfates, making them a safe and healthy choice for all skin types.

OLA GOLD BEAUTY has quickly become a fan-favorite, with last month's launch selling out in record time. The brand has been restocking and is introducing even more products today, May 1, 2023. By using OLA GOLD BEAUTY products, customers can enjoy a safer, more beneficial, and healthier personal care routine without putting their health at risk.

Daisha Agboola, the creator of OLA GOLD BEAUTY, is a true inspiration for those looking to pursue their dreams and make a difference in the world. Her passion for natural and safe personal care products has led her to create a brand that is not only good for the skin but good for the planet, too. Give OLA GOLD BEAUTY a try and discover the wonders of natural and nourishing skin care today.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Easter Eggs

The Mandalorian Season 3 Easter Eggs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8tHobQ6Tog

Over on Disney+, The Mandalorian Season 3 has just wrapped up. Once again we got to see Din and Grogu set out on numerous adventures within the Star Wars universe. This time they set out to finally reunite all the Mandalorians that had split into different factions and even return them to their rightful home of Mandalore. As usual, this season was jam-packed with all sorts of references and Mandalorian Easter Eggs. What did you end up missing?

WARNING!!!! There will be spoilers for The Mandalorian Season 3 and previous Mandalorian seasons!

Purrgil Space Whales

When Din jumps to hyperspace Grogu gets to see what it looks like out in space during travel. Within the lights and clouds of this super fast travel, we can see some shadows of what looks like some sort of animals traveling along hyperspace. These creatures are known as Purrgil. They are sort of space whales that can also travel in hyperspace. This is the first time they have appeared in live-action, but the Purrgil have actually shown up before in an episode of Star Wars: Rebels named The Call.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

R5-D4

The astromech droid R5-D4 once again makes an appearance in Peli Motto’s workshop. This time she actually lends him to Din to use on the surface of Mandalore. R5-D4 actually gets to go out on its own adventure this time around. It showed up before in A New Hope. Uncle Owen almost bought this droid before it malfunctioned, and he got R2-D2 instead. In an older Star Wars anthology book titled From A Certain Point Of View, it was said that this droid actually purposefully malfunctioned as it knew that R2-D2 had to get the message to Obi-Wan Kenobi. The appearance of R5-D4 has been such a great Mandalorian easter egg ever since his first appearance on the show.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

BD Unit

Peli Motto’s workshop also shows another returning droid from the Star Wars universe. Previously we had seen that Peli has a BD unit that works with her around the shop. This is a nod to the in-canon video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The main character of Cal Kestis has a BD unit that helps the player throughout the game. The game is the first time this type of droid was shown in the Star Wars franchise.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

Sundari

After Din and Grogu arrive on Mandalore, they begin to walk through the ruined city of Sundari. This city played a major role in seasons of the animated series The Clone Wars. In season seven of the show, a large chunk told the story of The Siege Of Mandalore. There was an invasion of Republic forces that were trying to overthrow the newly returned Darth Maul. He had led a takeover of Mandalore and was serving as its ruler.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

It’s A Trap

When Dr. Pershing is placed into a mind-scrambling device, he exclaims that ‘it was a trap.’ The Mon Calamari officer doesn’t seem phased by this decree. This is a fun reference to Admiral Ackbar from Return Of The Jedi. Famously he declared that ‘It’s a trap,’ when the rebels were ambushed.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

Jedi Master Kelleran Beq

We get the first in-universe appearance of Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. Everyone had been speculating what Jedi it was that helped Grocu escape from the Jedi temple when Order 66 went into effect. Many thought it would be revealed to be Mace Windu it turns out that it was actually Kelleran Beq. Some may not recognize the character, but he was actually created to be the host of a real game show from Lucasfilm. On Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge the Jedi Master would help lead children through the many aspects of what it takes to be a Jedi. Here he finally makes an appearance helping this padawan escape. He’s also played by Ahmed Best who most fans would know as the voice of Jar Jar Binks. This is a deep-cut Mandalorian easter egg, but it’s fun to see them incorporating such characters into the actual canon of Star Wars.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

Zeb Orrelios

Another character from Star Wars: Rebels makes their first live-action appearance this season. Zeb Orrelios shows up in a scene with Carson Teva. It’s a quick scene but confirms that Zeb has signed up with the New Republic as part of its defense fleet. This seems to point at more Rebels characters showing up in the upcoming Ahsoka show. With numerous discussions of Admiral Thrawn reappearing, it seems the groundwork is being set for quite a bit of Rebel’s lore being involved with upcoming Star Wars properties.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

Bulloch Canyon

Din helps defeat the pirates on Nevarro, and his good friend Greef Karga offers him a piece of land for his help. He really wants Din to become the new Marshall of their town. Din ends up turning it down, but Greef keeps telling him it is there for him. He states it’s an area called Bullcoh Canyon. This is a reference to Jeremy Bulloch who was the first actor to play Boba Fett. Thus, also being the first Mandalorian in the Star Wars franchise.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

Future Droids

When Din and Bo Katan go to investigate the reports of some Mandalorians camped out on a world ruled by a rich prince and princess, they are talked into investigating some droids that have been malfunctioning and turning hostile. They go to a crime scene where some security droids are marking the area. The sound they are making is the same siren that is in the movie Minority Report when the pre-crime units arrive on the scene.

Mandalorian Easter Eggs

Brendol Hux

This season marks the first live-action appearance of Brendol Hux. He first appeared in the Junior Novel Servants Of The Empire: The Secret Academy. Fans might be more familiar with his son Armitage Hux who was an antagonist in the sequel trilogy of movies. Armitage was played by Brian Gleeson. For this appearance on The Mandalorian, Gleeson’s brother Domhnall was cast as the elder Hux. It’s fun to see that they are keeping it all in the family for these characters.
