AGFA HealthCare Joins the AWS Partner Network

AGFA HealthCare, a leading provider of Enterprise Imaging solutions, is proud to announce that it has joined the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN) to scale up the global availability of AGFA Enterprise Imaging (AGFA EI) VNA and XERO® Universal Viewer on the cloud. The APN is a global community of AWS Partners that leverage programs, expertise, and resources to build, market, and sell customer offerings.

At HIMSS23, visitors can discover how AGFA HealthCare is working with AWS to allow healthcare networks across the globe to outsource data protection and security responsibilities and keep the VNA's scalability elastic.

  • The scalability of the cloud VNA can help AGFA HealthCare's customers improve the predictability of costs and control, especially not having to deal with infrastructure and storage and end-of-life issues, while supporting evolving needs in terms of changing image volumes or the health system's growth through acquisitions and mergers.
  • Simplified in-house IT administration reduces IT burdens.

"Joining the AWS Partner Network allows us to leverage a wealth of programs, expertise and resources to build technical solutions that keep us in the forefront of meeting the ongoing IT needs of our customers globally. The explosion in medical imaging data requires new solutions for handling, storing and protecting data, while making it seamlessly available to the people who need it,"  says Nathalie McCaughley, President, AGFA HealthCare.

"By supporting our EI VNA and XERO Universal Viewer on the cloud with AWS, we can help health systems to face their imaging challenges, including the difficulties of managing data protection and security, ensuring that infrastructure remains scalable, attracting and retaining skilled IT talents, and predicting costs," added Mark Burgess, President North America, AGFA HealthCare.

Secure data availability with predictable costs

By simplifying image data management and consolidating even the most isolated data, while reducing storage, archiving and back-up costs, the AGFA EI VNA offers health systems and hospitals true business transformation opportunities. The AGFA HealthCare XERO Universal Viewer, which delivers an HTML5-based zero footprint user interface and seamless Single Sign On (SSO) integration capabilities, enables the imaging data to be accessed and shared across the enterprise, even if the on-premises PACS goes down.

Hosting the AGFA EI VNA and XERO Universal Viewer on AWS helps to close the infrastructure gap in the health system's image management, further enhancing data availability and delivering world-class security, while making costs more predictable and simplifying in-house IT administration. Furthermore, as the image volume increases or the health system expands, the VNA delivers the needed elasticity and scalability.

As an APN member, AGFA HealthCare joins a global network of 100,000 AWS Partners from more than 150 countries working with AWS to provide innovative solutions, solve technical challenges, support customer successes, and deliver value for mutual customers.

Discover how AGFA HealthCare is working with AWS to help your organization close the infrastructure gap in your organizations' image management at HIMSS23, booth #1902, Chicago.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse trailer became the most-viewed trailer of the summer

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse trailer became the most-viewed trailer of the summer

The trailer for Across the Spider-verse surpassed the highest-viewed Marvel and DC trailers to become the most watched of the summer.

The trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse only dropped two days ago, but it has already become the most-viewed trailer for the franchise, the highest-viewed second trailer for any recent Marvel film in a 24-hour period, and the highest-viewed superhero trailer of the summer. Deadline reports that the new trailer for the anticipated sequel to the 2018 animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse has surpassed that of popular superhero trailers for this summer’s blockbusters, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s 116.9 million views and The Flash‘s 81.6 million views in the first 24-hours with 148.6 million views.

The second trailers for movies usually reveal more in terms of plot and action to give a clearer picture of what the movie contains. And superhero blockbuster sequels are always a huge draw for audiences. Across the Spider-verse also became the highest-viewed second trailer of recent Marvel outings and beat out the likes of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which garnered 121.6 million views, Thor: Love and Thunder, which would generate 98.1 million views, the much-anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which collected 84.8 million views, and this year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which tallied in at 83.8 million views.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse became a runaway hit for Sony and Marvel when they brought the story of Miles Morales‘ incarnation of Spider-Man to the big screen for the first time and dabbled in the multiverse before the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Across the Spider-verse is the middle part of a planned trilogy. It sees the return of the original’s cast, including Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jake Johnson, as well as a bevy of additions, including characters Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, played by Oscar Isaac, Hobie Brown, aka Spider-Punk, played by Daniel Kaluuya, and Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, played by Issa Rae.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are the film’s writers, alongside Dave Callaham. For this installment, Lord, Miller, Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, and Christina Steinberg will be pulling producing duties. In addition, Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti, Aditya Sood, Rodney Rothman, Rebecca Karch, and Brian Bendis are on board as executive producers.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is slated to hit screens in June 2023.

Leona Valley Recovery Center Incorporates Stress Management into Treatment During Stress Awareness Month and All Year Long

Leona Valley Recovery Center, a California addiction rehab and detox treatment center, creates customized treatment plans to meet the needs of their patients. April is "National Stress Awareness Month." During this month and all others, trained professionals at Leona Valley Recovery Center incorporate stress management into patients' treatment plans.

Therapeutic approaches employed by Leona Valley Recovery Center counselors include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioral Modification (ABA), Integrated Change Therapy (ICT), as well as motivational therapies and others.

All of these are, in some way, designed to help patients to be able to better manage the stress that occurs in their lives, to be able to suppress it as a trigger for negative thoughts, addiction struggles, and so forth.

According to the National Institutes of Health, "April is recognized as National Stress Awareness Month to bring attention to the negative impact of stress. Managing stress is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Knowing how to manage stress can improve mental and physical well-being as well as minimize exacerbation of health-related issues."

"Stress isn't something that can be eliminated entirely from life. That wouldn't be good, as it would lead to problems with motivation, quality of life, and even happiness. The goal of stress management is to be able to keep stress at levels that can be managed, to keep stress from overtaking your life in an unhealthy way. In our stress management treatments, we work with our patients to realize, among many other things, that negative stress isn't necessarily caused by what we think are the traditional sources, but rather, how we react and interpret what's happening to us, what's happening around us. By learning to better manage stress, we can all learn to better manage not just our addiction and mental health, but our lives as well," said Hai Nguyen, Chief Operations Officer of Leona Valley Recovery Center.

Leona Valley Recovery Center is a six-bedroom residential treatment facility more than an hour's drive northeast of Los Angeles. Designed intentionally to be a departure from traditional treatment facilities, Leona Valley Recovery Center specifically centers a combination of evidence-based therapies and holistic treatments.

Oncolyze Announces FDA Orphan Drug Designation for OM-301 for the Treatment of Multiple Myeloma

Oncolyze Announces FDA Orphan Drug Designation for OM-301 for the Treatment of Multiple Myeloma

Oncolyze Logo

Oncolyze Logo

Oncolyze, which already holds an Orphan Drug Designation for its lead drug candidate OM-301 in treating acute myeloid leukemia (AML), is pleased to announce that the FDA has just granted OM-301 its second Orphan Drug Designation, for multiple myeloma.

There are approximately 35,000 cases of multiple myeloma yearly in the U.S. The five-year survival rate for multiple myeloma is about 50%. Resistance to therapy is the primary challenge associated with relapse and recurrence of multiple myeloma, especially in elderly patients. The mainstays of treatment have been agents that affect the immune system, such as Revlimid® (BMS) used in combination with the generic corticosteroid dexamethasone. The prescribing of proteasome inhibitors such as Kyprolis® (Amgen / Ono) and Ninlaro® (Takeda), along with the emergence of novel drugs such as Darzalex® (Genmab / Janssen), is having an impact on treatment choices in the third-line setting.

Research has shown that OM-301 is effective against multiple myeloma. In vitro, OM-301 was effective against eight multiple myeloma cell lines including p53 mutated and null cell lines, and it prolonged survival in an in vivo proof of concept study.

Oncolyze has recently launched a Regulation A+ ("Reg A+") funding campaign to finance the company through the FDA pathway and to clinical trials; the company is spreading awareness of OM-301 among cancer patients, healthcare professionals, and the investment community. Regulation A+ is a type of offering that allows anyone to invest in Oncolyze and receive shares in the company. The investment opportunity is being hosted by StartEngine and investments may be made in Oncolyze directly by visiting the StartEngine website. Potential investors can also learn more about the investment opportunity at the Oncolyze website.

ABOUT ONCOLYZE, INC.

Oncolyze is developing a disruptive technology for the treatment of cancer. Our lead drug candidate, OM-301, has a simple mechanism of action to selectively kill cancer cells and cancer stem cells while sparing normal cells. This can provide a highly effective treatment with potentially little to no side effects. Our initial therapeutic target is AML. Most AML patients relapse within 1 year of treatment, as standard therapy is not very effective in destroying cancer stem cells. As a result, AML has only a 25% 5-year survival rate. In contrast, OM-301 has been shown to kill leukemic cancer stem cells, which has the potential to disrupt current medical treatment. Following our proof of concept in AML, we expect to pursue development for patients with other hematologic and solid cancers; multiple myeloma is a likely target for a following clinical trial.

For more information on Oncolyze, please visit the company's website and follow us on LinkedIn.

This Reg A+ offering is made available through StartEngine Primary, LLC, member FINRA/SIPC.  This investment is speculative, illiquid, and involves a high degree of risk, including the possible loss of your entire investment.

Welcome to Derry: Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar cast in It prequel series

Welcome to Derry: Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar cast in It prequel series

Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar have been cast in HBO Max’s It prequel series Welcome to Derry

We assume that Pennywise the Dancing Clown is going to show up on the HBO Max series Welcome to Derry, which will serve as a prequel to Warner Bros’ two-part adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel It (pick up a copy HERE), at some point. We’re just not sure who would be playing Pennywise, as just a week ago Bill Skarsgard, who played the evil clown in those two movies, said he isn’t involved with the show. As we wait to hear the Pennywise details, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed the names of four actors who will be seen in the show: they are Taylour Paige (Zola), Jovan Adepo (Watchmen), Chris Chalk (Perry Mason), and James Remar (Dexter).

Details on the roles Paige, Adepo, Chalk, and Remar will be playing are being kept under wraps. So for all we know, Pennywise could be lurking in their midst.

Brad Caleb Kane (Tokyo Vice) and Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman), who was a co-producer on It: Chapter Two, are the showrunners on Welcome to Derry. The show is being executive produced by Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, the sibling director/producer duo that was behind the two It movies, through their production company Double Dream. Kane and Fuchs are also executive producing, as are Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin. The series is produced by HBO Max and Warner Bros. Television.

Fuchs has written the script for the first episode, working from a story he crafted with the Muschiettis. Andy Muschietti will direct multiple episodes of the series, including that first episode.

Are you looking forward to Welcome to Derry? What do you think of Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar joining the cast? Let us know by leaving a comment below. That’s a strong start to casting announcements as far as I’m concerned, and I’m especially glad to hear that Remar is going to be on the show.

This is the first time Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, and James Remar are entering Stephen King territory, but Jovan Adepo previously played Larry Underwood in the second mini-series adaptation of The Stand. Remar has been acting since the ’70s, so it’s kind of surprising to realize he has never been in a King adaptation. The closest he’s come was a role in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, but he wasn’t in the segment that was based on a King story.
