Take note of these dating profile tips for Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, eharmony, and more.

new study by The Match Lab lists the top 24 dating profile mistakes made by men in the U.S.

The Match Lab uses psychology, research, and data to provide dating profile writing and dating profile photo services for online dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge and more.

In their new study, The Match Lab surveyed 100 women across the United States about the worst mistakes they see men make on dating apps. All of the women surveyed were single, straight, and actively using one or more apps.

The study summarizes the worst dating profile mistakes to avoid in order to get more likes and matches.

Coming in at the number one worst dating mistake is posting shirtless pictures in your dating profile. Landing the second spot on the list is posting too many group photos. Women ranked the third worst dating profile mistake as using low-quality photos in your dating profile.

Out of the 24 mistakes revealed by the women surveyed, six mistakes involved how guys write their Tinder bios, Bumble bios, and Hinge prompts. Landing the fourth worst mistake was guys writing dating profile bios and prompts that are overly generic. The study found that too many men write "cliche" profile bios rather than actually revealing their interests and hobbies.

Other dating profile writing mistakes involve men appearing too self-centered, making sexual references, and excessively mentioning height.

The study's results underscore the importance of using good dating profile pictures for guys on Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, or any app.

Leading Surgeon at ADR Spinal Restoration Center Announces Presentation on Converting Spinal Fusions to Total Disc Replacement
Dr. Todd Lanman shares his experience removing failed and solid fusions and placing artificial discs with a panel of artificial disc replacement spine surgeons.

Todd Lanman MD of the ADR Spinal Restoration Center demonstrates once again he is at the cutting edge of motion restoration spine surgery in his presentation "Conversion of Failed Fusions to TDR and Conversion of Solid Fusions to TDR," the latest installment of the "Spine Arthroplasty Triumphs & Defeats Case Discussion Series." Once considered impossible, Dr. Lanman presented a series of cases in which patients with failed and even solid fusions had highly successful total disc replacement.

One of the cases Dr. Lanman presented was of a 47-year-old woman with chronic neck pain despite anterior discectomy and spinal fusion at C4-5, C5-6, and C6-7. She was unable to get her neck into a comfortable position and always felt like her head was falling forward. Dr. Lanman found the woman's neck muscle to be atrophied and she had a limited range of motion in her cervical spine.

Dr. Lanman performed multi-level artificial disc replacement, reversing the fusions that had left the woman with neck pain and immobility. She enjoyed marked pain relief and increased neck range of motion, which continues even today, over a year later.

The spinal neurosurgeon was joined by the esteemed surgeons Jack Zigler, M.D., Richard Guyer, M.D., Scott Blumenthal, M.D., and Jens Chapman, M.D. During the course of the presentation, the spine surgeons asked numerous insightful questions about indications for fusion reversal as well as tips and techniques that can only be gleaned from firsthand experience.

The seminar is a must-see CME event for all spine surgeons and is of interest to rheumatologists, chiropractors, interventional radiologists, pain management specialists, and other providers who treat patients with chronic neck or low back pain. The entire presentation with films and discussion is available for free.

Signal Brands & The Handbag Awards Announce the ‘Signal Brands Collective’

Signal Brands Collective Cohort 1

The first cohort of designers selected for the Signal Brands Collective are IHDA Winners, Jeff Wan, Ivana Curic, and Marija Curic of Curic & Curic; and Val\u00e8rie Blaise of Vavvoune, Sade Mims of edas, and Shaquita Garcia of AART NYC.

Signal Brands and The Handbag Awards join forces in creating the Signal Brands Collective, the first-ever handbag designer incubator. Launching in February 2023, the Signal Brands Collective is a 15-week program where the cohort of five selected independent handbag designers will be educated, guided, and mentored by IHDA Founder Emily Blumenthal. With the support of Signal Brands' team and resources, designers will create their "hero bag" mini collection of three silhouettes consisting of a Tote, Satchel, and Crossbody, and will be provided a brand roadmap to have their bags retail-ready on a larger scale.

Signal Brands, a manufacturer and distributor of globally-renowned fashion brands licensed for handbags, small leather goods, luggage, and travel accessories, has been a long-time supporter of The Independent Handbag Awards. "The goal of the Signal Brands Collective is to find talented designers and give them the opportunity to learn about retail expectations, develop a product that can sell on a larger scale, and also give back to the handbag designer community," says Jason Rimokh, CEO of Signal Brands. "We have partnered with the IHDA and Emily, and believe that it's the talent of these handbag designers that truly impact the industry."

Emily Blumenthal who has been often referred to as "The Handbag Fairy Godmother," and is also the Author of "Handbag Designer 101," Founder of The Handbag Awards and National Handbag Designer Day, has been a long-time advocate and voice of the independent handbag designer and has helped unknown brands garner placement into Bloomingdale's, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue. "After 15 years of The Handbag Awards, and teaching Fashion Marketing at Parsons The New School for Design, and Entrepreneurship at the Fashion Institute of Technology, it was the logical step to create the 'Signal Brands Collective' incubator," Blumenthal says. "Signal Brands' commitment to working with us through the IHDA made them a logical partner of nurturing talent where designers will create a collection via Signal Brands that will allow their brand to be available to a larger audience."

The first cohort of designers selected for the Signal Brands Collective are IHDA Winners, Jeff Wan, Ivana Curic, and Marija Curic of Curic & Curic; and Valèrie Blaise of Vavvoune, Sade Mims of edas, and Shaquita Garcia of AART NYC

Jane See White, Dedicated and Decorated Journalist, Dies

Jane See White died January 11, 2023. She was 72. The Mexico, Missouri native had an award-winning 40-plus year career in newspaper and magazine journalism, including national reporting and editing with the Associated Press, and teaching journalism as part of  the University of Arizona School of Journalism.

White was the daughter of Robert Mitchell White II and Barbara Whitney Spurgeon.

At the age of nine White began a dedicated journalism career as the founding Editor and Publisher of The Mexico (Missouri) Junior Ledger. The summer weekly newspaper covered neighborhood news, but ceased publication when White began spending her summers at Camp Bryn Afon in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

She graduated from Mexico High School, then in 1972, from Hollins College with honors and a BA in History and American Studies.

Upon graduation from Hollins College, White spent two years as a reporter for The Roanoke Times then moved back to Missouri as a feature writer for The Kansas City Star. There she earned awards for an investigative series regarding state-run schools for the mentally disabled, and another related to state psychiatric hospitals.

In 1976 she transitioned to the Associated Press in New York City as an editor on the World Desk. From 1978 to 1981 she was also part of an AP six-person national writing team, writing feature news stories for datelines around the country. Her work included covering the Love Canal toxic crisis, exposing and examining the early controversy over the health effects of exposure to Agent Orange.

Peter Arnett, awarded the 1966 Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting, and known broadly for his coverage of the Vietnam and Gulf Wars, was a colleague of White's at the Associated Press. "I had the good fortune to be based in AP Headquarters as a Special Correspondent during the 1970s when Jane was steadily building her journalism career," Arnett recently wrote.  ". . . touching tributes to Jane White on her purposeful life in journalism and her recent untimely death brought back memories of not only working with her, but also of Jane's sparkling personality and her moxie, a very American word of that era used to describe courage and determination."

White joined Medical Economics magazine as a writer in 1982. Her progression with the publication included Professional Editor, News / Bureaus Editor and Head of the Editorial Division for the national bi-weekly non-clinical publication.

In 1987, her passion for newspaper journalism led her back to Virginia and The Roanoke Times and World News where she was the Deputy City Editor, then City Editor. Her responsibilities included daily and Sunday news coverage by 40 reporters and six assistant city editors.

White moved to Arizona in 1991, holding various writing and editing roles for The Phoenix Gazette and The Arizona Republic, including Features Editor and Assistant Managing Editor.

From 2006 until her retirement in 2014, White was an Editor and editorial writer for The Arizona Daily Star. Editorials White researched and wrote won first-place prizes from the Arizona Press Club, the Arizona Newspapers Association, and were included in nomination for the Pulitzer Prize.

Between 1997 and 2014, White also shared her expertise and passion for journalism with future journalists, as an adjunct Professor with the University of Arizona School of Journalism.

Dell Laser Consultants Announces Treatment of First Patient in Austin With the IC-8® Apthera™ IOL

Dr. Steven J. Dell at Dell Laser Consultants is the first in Austin, Texas, to treat cataract patients with the IC-8® Apthera™ IOL since its U.S. FDA Approval.

"At Dell Laser Consultants, we are focused on providing advanced patient-centered care, which is why we are committed to offering the most advanced technologies to our patients. The Apthera lens offers a solution to patients who are looking for a continuous, clear range of vision from near to far without blurry zones. It also helps patients with a low amount of corneal astigmatism," said Dr. Dell. "I am truly excited to be offering a first-of-its-kind lens that helps patients achieve their best personal vision." Dr. Dell was one of the first surgeons in the U.S. to implant this lens which may offer vision correction to patients who are not candidates for other technologies.

By the age of 65, more than 90% of people worldwide are estimated to have begun to develop cataracts. Cataracts are a clouding of the eye's natural lens that leads to loss of vision over time.1 Treatment for cataracts involves the surgical removal of the natural lens and replacement with an intraocular lens, or IOL. Cataract surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures in the world, with nearly 28 million cataract procedures being performed worldwide each year.2 The majority of patients with cataracts are treated with a standard monofocal (single-focus) lens, which allows the patient to have excellent far vision; however, patients remain dependent on glasses for near and intermediate vision.

The Apthera IOL is a replacement lens designed to give patients the advantage of clear, focused vision from near to far, and everything in between. It is the first lens to utilize small aperture technology. Unlike other lenses that split, shift, or stretch light, the Apthera lens naturally focuses light entering the eye through its small aperture, seamlessly extending range of vison so patients can see text, people, and objects, across a full range of focal distances. The Apthera IOL is also the first lens to help patients who have a low amount of astigmatism (as much as 1.5 diopters).3

For more information about the Apthera lens, please visit www.AptheraAdvantage.com or request an appointment online with Dr. Dell, or call us at 512-347-0255.

About Dell Laser Consultants

Dell Laser Consultants was established to provide absolute state-of-the-art care in the field of vision correction surgery. We realize that you only have one set of eyes, and they deserve the best.

Legacy Suite Releases LegacyPass™ to Secure and Encrypt Passwords Using the Blockchain
With LegacyPass™, sensitive data is kept safe and secure in a digital vault, allowing for the secure and convenient management of digital identities.

Legacy Suite

Legacy Suite

Legacy Suite, an industry leader in digital asset preservation, announces the release of LegacyPass™, its tailor-made solution for accessing, managing and sharing passwords conveniently from desktop or mobile devices. Passwords alone can no longer meet today's security needs; leveraging the immutability of the blockchain on the backend enables a seamless and password-less environment, allowing users to access accounts securely from all their devices with one click.

"We are thrilled to introduce the LegacyPass™ password manager to the market," said Gordon Bell, Founder and President of Legacy Suite. "Our team has worked hard to create a product that not only makes it easy to manage and protect your passwords but also keeps your sensitive information and documents secure."

A NordPass study found that the average person has roughly 100 passwords. According to Statista, approximately 15 million data records were exposed worldwide in the third quarter of 2022 alone—a figure that has increased by 37% compared to the previous quarter. With the growing number of online accounts and the increasing importance of strong passwords, it can be difficult for individuals and businesses to keep track of login information. LegacyPass™ solves this problem by securely storing a user's passwords in one convenient digital vault secured by the blockchain.

In its two years of operation, LegacyPass™ has had zero breaches and accumulated over 25,000 users. LegacyPass™ password manager uses AES256 encryption to ensure passwords and sensitive data are safe from potential hackers. Elliptic Curve Integrated Encryption Scheme (ECIES) combines ECC-based asymmetric cryptography with symmetric ciphers to provide data encryption, enabling smaller key sizes and reducing storage and transmission requirements.

Blockchain technology can revolutionize the way passwords are secured and managed. Using a decentralized, distributed ledger to store password information makes it virtually impossible for hackers to access or compromise data. Blockchain allows the data to be spread across a network of computers, making it more difficult to access or alter. Additionally, blockchain can provide added security measures such as encryption and secure key management, further protecting password information from unauthorized access.

Overall, the use of blockchain to secure passwords has the potential to significantly improve the security and reliability of online systems and services. To learn about Legacy Suite and how to secure digital assets, please visit https://www.legacysuite.com.
