HealthMe Wins UCSF Digital Health Award for Patient Cost Savings
The UCSF award recognizes the top healthcare technology companies innovating in the industry as voted by industry experts across academia, industry, and venture capital

LAS VEGAS - November 16, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

HealthMe (https://healthmedocs.com) announced today that the company was selected from an application pool of over 1,000 healthcare companies as a 2022 UCSF Rising Star in the Patient Cost Savings category.  Winners in multiple categories were announced live and in-person at the HLTH conference, which took place on Nov. 14 in Las Vegas. This distinction is especially meaningful as the Digital Health Awards honors outstanding health technologies and innovations dramatically transforming healthcare each year.

As a physician-founded company, HealthMe addresses the urgent needs of patients for transparently priced bundled care to overcome the gap between the patients and the providers that care for them. Uncertainty around medical prices is among the highest concerns faced by Americans in need of care. The HealthMe platform has increased access to needed care for direct-pay patients who often face limited options receiving the care they need. For providers, HealthMe provides a simple solution to transact transparently priced healthcare and creates a clear path to meet and exceed new regulatory requirements for transparent pricing.

"We recognize there are few industries more complex than healthcare. While the actual provision of care is by default complex, access to and payment for that care should be simple. HealthMe accomplishes this by deploying consumer-friendly eCommerce storefronts directly to practice websites to accommodate direct-payers," commented CEO and founder Dr. Michael Havig. "We are honored to be recognized by UCSF for delivering meaningful cost savings and price transparency for thousands of patients."

"This year's incredible winners are mature digital-first companies contributing to reducing healthcare inefficiencies while bringing the latest in digital technologies to a sector that up until recently was considered a late adapter," said Mark H. Goldstein, Chairman, UCSF Health Hub.

About HealthMe™

Smile Digital Health Recognized as a 2022 Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ and North America Technology Fast 500™ Company
Achievements emphasize Smile Digital Health's rapid development, innovative technology and revenue growth.

TORONTO - November 16, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Smile Digital Health, a leading health data exchange and innovation company, today announced that it has been named to the 2022 Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ and North America Technology Fast 500™, recognizing it as one of the world's fastest-growing technology companies. The Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ specifically recognizes Canada's 50 fastest-growing technology companies based on the revenue-growth percentage over the last four years of operation. The Deloitte North America Technology Fast 500™ similarly recognizes the fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, fintech, and energy tech companies in North America.

"We believe open standards will drive successful innovation and the digital transformation of healthcare and this recognition is a testament to that belief and our goal of better global health," said Duncan Weatherston, Chief Executive Officer, Smile Digital Health. "This achievement can be credited to the talented employees who drive our growth and success on a daily basis by demonstrating the value we bring not only to our customers but to overall healthcare innovation."

Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ and Fast 500™ companies are driving the growth of Canadian and North American businesses. Last year, Smile was named as one of Canada's Companies-to-Watch in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ program. This is the first year Smile has been ranked in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ and the North America Technology Fast 500™ programs, where Smile Digital Health ranked 19th and 110th, respectively.

"It's inspiring how this year's exceptional cohort of Technology Fast 50 winners have delivered outstanding revenue growth even in the face of prevailing uncertainties in the economy and marketplace," commented Anders McKenzie, partner and national leader for the Technology Fast 50 program at Deloitte Canada. "Fueled by exemplary innovation, creativity, resilience, adaptability, along with superior business leadership, these companies are paving the way as catalysts in their respective sectors and delivering growth and value to the Canadian economy both at home and beyond."

To qualify for the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking, companies must have been in business for at least four years, have revenues of at least $5 million, be headquartered in Canada, own proprietary technology, conduct research, and development activities in Canada and invest a minimum of 5% of gross revenues in R&D. Eligibility in the Fast 500 category requires applicants to meet the same criteria as for Technology Fast 50 nominees except that the revenue is measured in USD. To be qualified, candidates must devote a significant portion of their operating revenues to creating proprietary technology or intellectual property.

"This year's Technology Fast 500 list is a true reflection of some of today's most determined and inspiring pioneers who have prospered by anticipating what's next, understanding what's needed to succeed and driving creativity forward," said Christie Simons, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP and industry leader for technology, media and telecommunications within Deloitte's audit and assurance practice. "Representing all facets of technology, the winners have shown they not only have the vision but can also expertly manage their companies through rapid growth. We congratulate each winner on their impressive achievements."

Shoreline Recovery Center and sister center Park Mental Health collect donations for food drive partnership with San Diego Food Bank

SAN DIEGO - November 16, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Shoreline Recovery Center and its sister site Park Mental Health are more than facilities that only offer addiction recovery services. They are devoted to the development of purpose. That's why as part of its mission to give back to the community it serves, Shoreline Recovery Center is partnering with the San Diego Food Bank by having a holiday food drive this season.

"Part of any good recovery program are their acts of service and being of service," said Shoreline's Executive Director Kate Judd. "This is one way to encourage our clients to give back during the holidays while creating important connections within the community."

The food drive for the San Diego Food Bank begins on Nov. 22 and runs through Dec. 17. While it's closed to the public in order to protect client confidentiality, nonperishable donations are being accepted internally from family, friends and staff members.

The core values of Shoreline are embedded in its curriculum and include the development of purpose, self-compassion, responsibility, resilience and community. These values are instilled in clients throughout a minimum six-month plan that begins with an intentional connection with experts and moves through a strategic plan to implement and then transition out of the facility with goals to achieve sober, independent living.

A safe haven for individuals in crisis, Shoreline Recovery Center lays the foundation for hope and resilience through programs that give them the foundational tools they need in order to become better fathers, partners and functioning, contributing citizens. Upon graduation, these self-actualized men learn how to reacclimate into their communities, and in some cases, go into business for themselves and many of them end up working in the recovery industry.

Reaching sobriety after struggling with addiction or substance use disorder is a significant accomplishment and getting patients actively involved in things bigger than themselves is a critical part of their overall recovery. Shoreline Recovery Center's aftercare programs are designed to help the patients maximize everything that was learned to maintain the newer healthy and sober lifestyle.

"The clients we work with come to us as individuals who would otherwise create less than favorable outcomes for themselves and their community," said Executive Director Kate Judd. "In the last five years, there's definitely been a ripple effect with the majority of guys that have advanced through our program."

Craig Burson, Kate Judd and Robert Wilson founded the company five years ago to create treatment programs that blend evidence-based therapies, clinical best practices as well as expand job skills and training.

"Each of us are in recovery and began working in the addiction and recovery field because we wanted to contribute to others facing similar struggles," Judd said. "We teach people how to take care of themselves so they can ultimately help others."

Cities Across the Country Turn Green as Safe States and Other Organizations Unify Their Voices to Prevent Injuries and Violence
Join the celebration Nov. 18

NIPD Poster

Promotional poster for the third annual National Injury Prevention Day

ATLANTA - November 16, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

When the sun goes down Friday, Nov. 18, darkened skylines across the country will be peppered with a warm hue of green as bridges, monuments, government buildings and businesses join hospitals and trauma centers and become beacons of light to raise awareness about the burden of injuries and violence, the number one killers of people 1-44 years. It will mark the end of the 3rd National Injury Prevention Day (NIPD), a day where Safe States Alliance and the nation's top prevention advocates join forces and push for change.

Safe States joins other leading injury and violence prevention (IVP) organizations, such as the Injury Free Coalition for Kids, Safe Kids Worldwide, the American Trauma Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Be SMART -- a program of Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research, the Trauma Center Association of America, JPMA Cares, and I'm Safe, to empower and equip communities to make a difference. Access the full list of organizations signing an NIPD letter of support here: https://bit.ly/NIPDletter

We are working for change in a year where lives were needlessly taken in places deemed safe: homes, playgrounds, schools, and grocery stores. Together we want to end the heartache left by preventable injuries and deaths from suicides, motor vehicle crashes, drownings, fires, drug overdoses, and more than 40 mass shootings.

"It takes all of us to make a difference," Barbara Barlow, MD, Professor of Surgery in Epidemiology at Columbia University and Founder of the Injury Free Coalition for Kids said. "We must promote the use of safe practices, using safety products, and implement strong legislative policies."

NIPD will kick-off at 10:00 a.m. EST with a one-hour virtual event, featuring US Public Health Service Captain Christopher Jones, PharmD, DrPH, MPH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Acting Director for the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. Dr. Jones joins the country's top IVP organizations to sound the alarm about the need for and promise of prevention.

At 1:00 p.m. EST, the public is invited to take part in a live national conversation about the country's top injury and violence concerns on Twitter using the hashtag #BeInjuryFree. Throughout the day IVP professionals from coast to coast will lead activities and distribute tools to create safer environments. Learn more about scheduled NIPD activities at https://injuryfree.org/nationalinjurypreventionday/2022.

"National Injury Prevention Day focuses on the fact that injuries and violence are predictable and preventable and that increased public health investments can both save lives and reduce health care costs," Safe States Executive Director, Richard Hamburg adds.

Green Advertising First to Market: Bidtellect Adopts Scope3 to Offer Carbon Transparency, Helping Advertisers Take Immediate Action to Reduce Carbon Footprint
Scope3 measurement gives clients accurate insights into carbon costs to optimize for results and sustainability

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - November 16, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Bidtellect, a leading demand-side platform and advertising technology company, today announced a first-of-its-kind integration with Scope3, the only company to report true supply chain emissions data. The integration will offer Bidtellect clients transparency into the carbon cost of their advertising campaigns and the tools to reduce their emissions directly via the Bidtellect platform.

"Digital programmatic media has always been accused - justifiably - of being far too complex, and we now know that its waste comes with a high cost to the environment. If you are an agency or a brand that values and prioritizes buying media based on its carbon footprint, Bidtellect is the only buying platform that puts actionable tools based on Scope3's unique data in your hands today," said Lon Otremba, CEO of Bidtellect.

Digital technologies are responsible for up to 5.9% of total greenhouse gas emissions, of which Internet advertising is a significant contributor. The energy consumption of these technologies is increasing by 9% a year (World Economic Forum).

Media waste is a major culprit. A study by ISBA and PwC found that half of online ad money is being siphoned off by the adtech ecosystem before it reaches publishers. Of that, about one-third of the money was "completely untraceable." Eighty-eight percent of dollars could not be traced from end to end.

Scope3 brings granular visibility into the advertising supply chain by measuring the carbon emissions of every single part of the ad journey, allowing partners to seamlessly incorporate its data into their technology platforms. Bidtellect users will now have accurate insights into the carbon impact of their campaigns. More importantly, they will be able to take immediate action in the platform with ease - choosing or blocking domains, creating specific allow lists, and more - based on Scope3's carbon data. Initial data point to a strong correlation between low carbon emission sites and higher quality of supply.

"When brands have accurate emissions measurement data available in the same place they are executing media buys, it's a lot easier to factor carbon into optimization decisions. Bidtellect is paving the way while prioritizing action," said Brian O'Kelley, CEO and Co-Founder of Scope3. "By offering Scope3 data directly in their platform, Bidtellect is giving buyers exactly what they need to make progress on sustainability commitments, improve advertising and proactively reduce carbon emissions."

Forty-nine percent of executives surveyed in October by Deloitte believed sustainability efforts will have a positive impact on their brand and reputation and 76% of advertisers want the industry to further reduce carbon emissions according to eMarketer.

Fragrance Creators Showcases 2022 Impacts Delivered for Business and Consumers During Its First In-Person Annual Meeting in Two Years
The meeting theme 'Foresight' symbolized the association's unique predictive capabilities, empowering its members with marketplace and public policy insights, and driving a myriad of critical achievements

WASHINGTON - November 15, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

The Fragrance Creators Association (Fragrance Creators) celebrated a myriad of results the organization has delivered for business and consumers during its 2022 Annual Meeting held today in Morristown, New Jersey. Association leaders confirmed the efficacy of Fragrance Creators' 2016 strategic overhaul, which centered around strengthening and modernizing its regulatory science capacity while building trust and appreciation for fragrance and the well-being benefits it delivers to billions of consumers every day. The association's monitoring, analysis and custom templates and trackers are essential to providing members with the insights and tools they need to stay ahead of the curve. This Foresight is crucial in Fragrance Creators' ability to be the proven leader representing fragrance manufacturers and others along the value chain.

Top 2022 achievements include:

  • Providing members access to key governmental officials at the White House, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, and Congress;
  • Leading and successfully influencing critical fragrance-related legislative issues, including ensuring proposals are based on sound science and protect industry competition and innovation;
  • Encouraging stewardship principles throughout the industry that advance responsible industry growth; and
  • Providing members with unique and meaningful predictive intelligence and custom compliance support tools.

Work on these priorities will continue in 2023. During the public session of the meeting, former Senator Byron Dorgan and Dan Renberg of ArentFox Schiff LLP recapped the 2022 U.S. midterm elections and provided insights into the 2023 political landscape, including the impact on key Fragrance Creators' priorities, such as cosmetics modernization and trade policy.

In addition, attendees were updated on the European Union's Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) and the essentiality of fragrance. Technical experts from the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), Procter & Gamble, and Estee Lauder provided attendees with background and a status update on the profoundly impactful CSS proposal.

During another session, executives from Arylessence, Procter & Gamble and the Estee Lauder Companies explored why humans have consistently relied on scents, and what makes fragrance an essential part of everyday life. They highlighted Fragrance Creators' recent study in this area and future plans to continue the work in this important area to educate consumers.

Fragrance Creators was pleased to announce its 2023 leadership - with Cynthia Reichard, Executive Vice President of Arylessence, and Dr. Robert Weinstein, CEO of Robertet USA, continuing to co-chair the organization. During the meeting, Fragrance Creators members voted to confirm the 2023 Board of Directors Slate and welcomed Kevin Whelan from Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc., Ken McAlister from The Lebermuth Company, Inc., and Jacqueline Liou from LVMH as the newest additions to the Board.

Reichard noted, "Representing industry at-large is a profound responsibility, one that I know our membership will honor by supporting science-based regulation and smart policies that empower all good companies to thrive and deliver more for people, perfume, and the planet."

"Leadership matters, and it is an honor to serve as the chair of a values-driven organization—values that harness the power of foresight and that will continue to prevail as we work toward a better future," said Weinstein.

"This is the most important time in history for many trade associations, including ours. I am privileged to work with a leadership so committed to Fragrance Creators remaining a powerful forum for corporate leaders—responsible fragrance industry stewards—to forge innovative solutions made possible by working collectively in a pre-market environment," said Farah K. Ahmed, president & CEO, Fragrance Creators. "I look forward to working with our entire membership, putting science and industry stewardship first, to meet our future opportunities and challenges."

Ecogy Energy Helps American Red Cross in Tinton Falls Reduce Carbon Emissions
TINTON FALLS, N.J. - November 15, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Today, Ecogy Energy ("Ecogy"), in partnership with the American Red Cross, unveiled their latest renewable energy project. The 120.1 kWdc solar system, developed by Brooklyn-based Ecogy, will provide the nonprofit with all the solar energy it needs to offset annual on-site electricity use, making the building net-zero.

The Red Cross New Jersey Region entered the solar development process with their local community at heart and top of mind. By installing solar on-site, the Red Cross will not only reduce their own need for electricity but will also help New Jersey reach its goal of 50% renewable energy sources by 2030.

The first rooftop solar array system (completed in 2022) will directly provide power for on-site usage. The second system, however, will be a community solar project that will provide no-cost subscriptions to local residents. These subscriptions will enable local households to access renewable energy and receive a discount on a portion of their electric bill with no cost to sign up.

"The savings generated by building this solar system atop our roof will allow us to commit even more resources to providing quality support to communities and families in need," said Rosie Taravella, regional chief executive officer, American Red Cross New Jersey Region. "As a humanitarian organization that serves families and communities impacted by climate disasters, our goal is to minimize our own environmental footprint. We're excited to be doing our part here in New Jersey."

The 120.1 kWdc rooftop system will produce roughly 2.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity over the next 20 years, equivalent to powering 19 homes over the same term, or the emissions avoided from burning over 2.1 million pounds of coal.

The above environmental benefits afforded by the solar array will be instrumental in helping the Red Cross become a more sustainable organization, while also creating a blueprint for future installations.

Rooftop systems provide the added benefit of maintaining undisturbed areas such as greenfields and forests. By developing on the built environment, no additional impervious surfaces were created, groundwater flow remains the same, and no trees were cut down.

"The American Red Cross is a pillar of light and hope for communities across the globe." Commented Jack Bertuzzi, CEO, Ecogy Energy. "It is an honor to support the Red Cross in furthering the deployment of renewable energy. We are continually impressed by their dedication to supporting communities, and we hope to continue to work with them in the future."

Brooklyn-based developer, financier, and owner-operator Ecogy will sell the power produced by the system back to the Red Cross through a power purchase agreement. In exchange, Ecogy will retain the Solar Renewable Energy Credits ("SREC") generated for each MW of solar energy and have the option to trade or sell them like a stock option.
