LEONA VALLEY, Calif. - October 19, 2022 - (Newswire.com)
The Leona Valley Recovery Center, an inpatient addiction treatment center, offers evidence-based treatment for those seeking treatment outside of a major city. As drug and alcohol abuse rises across America, Leona Valley's doors are open for detox and residential treatment.
Located more than an hour north of Los Angeles, the staff at Leona Valley Recovery Center offer addiction rehab "in a remote, serene location." The six-bed residential treatment center provides a combination of holistic treatments as well as evidence-based therapies.
"Evidence-based therapies" are designed to utilize "the integration of the best research evidence with clinical expertise and patient values." These "specialized therapies have (been) developed to target specific use disorders: alcohol, opiates, cocaine… Treatment services have been developed to address not only the substance use, but also the range of other problems that often predate, co-occur with, and are caused by substance use disorders."
According to researchers at Cedars-Sinai, projections of mortality rates from alcohol use disorder were 22% higher in 2021 as well as 25% higher in 2020. Additionally, in 2021, for the first time, deaths from drug overdoses exceeded 100,000, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"We only use truth in order to treat here at Leona Valley Recovery Center. Before we founded our center, we realized that the traditional substance abuse treatment and recovery model needed to be improved. That's just one of the reasons our center is in such a remote, picturesque location. Here, there are no distractions, nothing to keep our patients from being focused on the individual, on their treatment. We exclusively use evidence-based therapies for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that they work. They've been proven to work. Indeed, we've seen it time and again. That said, we always tailor our treatment specifically to the individual, to their needs, to what they need help with. The last few years have been so challenging for so many. More people than ever have struggled with addiction. We're here to help someone on their journey of sobriety, in a serene location with an experienced staff, all committed to the individualized treatment of our patients," said Hai Nguyen of Leona Valley Recovery Center.
This drug and alcohol detox center also offers residential treatment programs for a wide range of substance-use disorders. For more information, to learn about insurance verification, or to enroll, contact Leona Valley Recovery Center at (888) 702-1852.

Techwave, a leading global IT and engineering solutions provider, shares its latest fundraising initiative, the "STEPtember, Health & Fitness Challenge." The campaign is being launched in collaboration with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation to raise awareness and funds for families affected by cerebral palsy. The funds raised by the STEPtember challenge will be used by the best CPARF researchers to prevent, treat, and cure cerebral palsy.
Cerebral palsy is a physical disability caused by damage to the developing brain during pregnancy, birth, or shortly after birth, which affects a person's posture and movement throughout their life. Techwave's "STEPtember" challenge is the key initiative to raise awareness about cerebral palsy among employees and entice them to lead a healthy lifestyle. Signing up for STEPtember and committing to 10,000 steps per day is the initial step. Tracking the steps with a digital pedometer or an app would follow. A total of 10,000 steps were taken every day during the "STEPtember" challenge by the employees for 28 consecutive days. By participating in this, we raised more than $2,000 and took more than 10 million steps for the CPARF cause.
"STEPtember is a virtual fundraising initiative to encourage fitness and healthy living among employees. The opportunity to fundraise for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation is inspiring to us, and we are proud to be able to make a real difference in the lives of families living with cerebral palsy. This initiative will be rolled out all year long, globally, and we hope it will lead society to better understand cerebral palsy and those affected by it so that we can make a lasting difference for people with the condition," said Mr. Raj Gummadapu, CEO, Techwave.

St. Jude's Ranch for Children, a community of healing and hope, with the help of its construction team — Grand Canyon Development Partners, EV&A Architects, Taney Engineering, and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company — will break ground on its Healing Center on Oct. 25, 2022, for children who are victims of sex trafficking.
Unlike any other nationwide, this first-of-its-kind center will build on the 56-year legacy of the charity by providing safe therapeutic homes and a specialized nurturing recovery program for children who have been forced or manipulated into having sex for money. The Healing Center is unique — from its ground-up residences, holistic treatment options, survivor advocates, trauma-sensitive design, and on-site public school dedicated specifically to this population.
"Child sex trafficking has devastating consequences for its victims, including long-lasting physical and psychological trauma, disease, and even death," said St. Jude's Ranch for Children Chief Executive Officer Dr. Christina Vela. "Through the creation of the Healing Center on our flagship campus in Boulder City, Nevada, we will be able to address every facet of the recovery process while providing a safe space in which they can heal."
St. Jude's Ranch for Children's Healing Center will sit on 10 acres of land, with a series of individual therapeutic homes that will mimic a neighborhood with walking paths and landscaping designed to foster a sense of safety. Therapy offices and outside areas will encourage transformation through connection to nature while a multi-purpose building will include an on-site school, meeting space, library, computer lab, and a yoga and meditation room.
The Healing Center masterplan design and construction costs are estimated at $25 million. The charity has received donations and pledges from Clark County, Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts, The Cosmopolitan, Aristocrat Gaming, Nevada Elks, Justice Miriam Shearing, and additional individual donors. With more than half of the funds raised, the charity is continuing to pursue funding and encourages donations to help these young victims. Clark County School District has also approved $5 million to build the school on the Healing Center campus.
Construction is expected to be completed by Spring of 2024 and the center is expected to be open for residents by Summer 2024.

iQuanti: Debt consolidation is when you use one loan or credit card to pay off several high-interest credit cards or other debts. Since you'll only have one balance instead of multiple, it'll be easier to manage your debt. Also, if you're able to land a lower interest rate than the rates you currently have, you'll save money on interest in the process.
Debt consolidation methods
There are several ways you can consolidate your credit card debt, including:
Debt consolidation loan: A debt consolidation loan is an unsecured personal loan that's specifically intended for paying off debts. It typically comes with a fixed interest rate and repayment term so you can budget for payments in advance.
Credit card balance transfer: If you qualify for a balance transfer credit card, ideally with a lower APR than your current credit card, you can move multiple balances to it to consolidate your debt and make one monthly payment at a lower interest rate rather than several.
Home equity loans: You may want to consider a home equity loan or home equity line of credit (HELOC) if you have equity in your home. While a home equity loan offers a lump sum of money, a HELOC is a revolving line of credit.
401(k) loans: If you have a 401(k) retirement plan, it is possible to borrow money from it for debt consolidation. Since this method might cost you a penalty and hinder your retirement plans, think twice before you choose it.
How to consolidate your credit card debt
If you move forward with debt consolidation for your credit card debt, follow these steps.
Add up your debt: Determine how much credit card debt you owe. If you decide to consolidate it with a loan, this figure will inform you of how much to borrow.
Calculate your average interest rate: There are plenty of online calculators that can help you come up with the weighted average interest rate of all your credit cards. Try to find a lower rate than the average you currently have.
Consider your budget: Take a close look at your budget. Once you pay your monthly bills, how much can you put toward paying off your credit card debt?
Choose the right method: While the most common debt consolidation options are personal loans, balance transfer credit cards, and home equity loans, you can also consolidate debt with your retirement account. Figure out the best choice for your unique situation.
Bottom line
By consolidating your credit card debt, you'll find the payoff process to be easier and more affordable. Just make sure you choose the ideal strategy for your particular needs and avoid racking up more debt.

iQuanti: If you're in a cash crunch and have no credit, you may be wondering how to get the funds you need. Luckily, there are still plenty of options at your disposal. And even though it may be difficult to find online loans with no credit check, many lenders have less strict credit score requirements and approve borrowers with poor or no credit. If that sounds like you, you might want to try one of the following:
1. Find a co-signer with better credit
Consider finding someone you trust (and who trusts you) to be a co-signer on your loan application. This means they're taking responsibility for repayment of the loan if you default or can't fulfill your obligation. The loan will show up on their credit report also, so make sure you make all your payments on time.
Lenders will be more lenient with a no-credit borrower when they have a co-signer. Younger people with no credit often start their credit history with a personal or student loan co-signed by their parents. During the loan approval process, the lender will use the higher of the two applicant's credit scores to determine creditworthiness.
2. Search online for poor-credit loans
There are many online lenders who specialize in poor and no-credit loans. They work with people who have credit scores below the industry standard that many traditional banks require for personal loans. With these loans, you can have poor, fair, or no credit and still get approved. Spend some time doing online research and you should be able to find a good lender. Here are some types of poor-credit loans that may be available to you:
Cash advances: These are short-term, small dollar loans that can get you a few hundred dollars to cover expenses before payday. You'll repay this loan in two to four weeks when you get your next paycheck.
Title loans: With title loans, you can receive the funds you need using your car title as collateral. The lender will appraise your vehicle, then offer you a loan amount worth 25 to 50% of its value. You can keep driving your car while you repay the loan.
Installment loans: Installment loans can give you a lump sum of money all at once. Then, you can repay what you owe over time in fixed monthly payments, or installments.
3. Ask your friends and family for some funds
No one wants to borrow money from friends and family, but financial distress is a real dilemma. If it comes down to asking for help or missing a rent/mortgage payment, ask for help. Reach out to friends and family, be sincere about your circumstances, and offer repayment terms you can afford.
Another approach here is to exchange labor for funds. Everyone needs some work done around the house. Mowing the lawn, painting a bathroom, or helping someone move are all tasks that could warrant some type of financial compensation. And maybe you can even turn that type of work into a side hustle to get you out of the financial situation you're in.
The bottom line:
Traditional banks and credit unions aren't the only places you can borrow money. Online lenders often specialize in poor-credit loans. You can increase your chances of approval by asking someone to co-sign for you. If all else fails, reach out to friends and family for help or come up with a side hustle where you can make some extra money.
Air-Clenz Systems™ (Air-Clenz™) was today granted a pioneer U.S. patent, U.S. 11,471,553, as part of the company's ongoing effort to make indoor air cleaner, safer, and healthier for all. The patent covers the back of all seats, chairs or benches used in any indoor venue or vehicle (including aircraft) in the United States when an air purifier or an Air-Clenz™ unit is integrated in or attached to the back of a seat, chair or bench. Additionally, it covers all types of electronic display screens when the electronic display screen acts to block and deflect exhaled air mixed with room air towards and into an air suction intake of an attached, integrated or associated air purifier or Air-Clenz™ unit. Additional patent applications are pending.
"Today is an important step in a two-year-plus journey for Air-Clenz™," explained company Chief Executive Officer Stuart Sheldon. "It recognizes the visionary thinking of our founder Dr. Ronald Blum, our Chief Scientist Anita T. Broach, PhD., and others to fundamentally change how the world approaches improving indoor air quality. This patent acknowledges that Drs. Blum and Broach were the first to figure out how to quickly stop, capture, and clean an exhaled breath, cough or sneeze within the first three to four feet from someone's mouth and nose, before it — and any possible airborne disease it may carry — can spread through the indoor space." When one sits behind a seat, chair or bench, or in front of an electronic display screen such as a desktop monitor, laptop or tablet, their exhaled air can be blocked and its forward motion stopped, allowing it to be quickly captured and cleaned by an air purifier or an Air-Clenz™ unit. In most cases, the distance from the back of a seat, chair or bench or the front of an electronic display screen is three feet or less from the individual's face, whose exhaled air is being captured and cleaned.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently warned about the low vaccination rate in Europe and believes a new wave of COVID will soon spread across Europe, as well as an increase in influenza. While the BA.4 and BA.5 variants fuel increasing COVID rates in Europe, the BQ.1, BQ.1.1, and XBB variants are cause of concern in the U.S. and Canada, and BA.2.75.2 in India. Scientists and medical doctors warn that increased respiratory infections will occur this fall and winter in the U.S. COVID, influenza, the common cold, mumps, measles, tuberculosis and whooping cough are all transmitted by airborne infectious respiratory particles from one human to another.
Anita Broach, PhD, Air-Clenz™ Chief Scientist, said, "Because we can't see airborne viruses and bacteria, most people don't realize how easily they are spread by an exhaled breath, cough or sneeze — or by contaminated interior air flow being pulled towards the return of an HVAC [Heat, Ventilation, Air Conditioning] system, or the air intake of a conventional air purifier. Air-Clenz™ is the only known mask-free solution that quickly stops, captures, and cleans an exhaled air breath, cough or sneeze before it spreads throughout an indoor venue or vehicle. Air-Clenz™ can capture and clean an exhaled air breath, cough or sneeze to 99.97% pure in less than 10 seconds. Scientists and health professionals know that an exhaled air breath contains up to 100 micron and submicron particles traveling up to 3.5 miles per hour. A cough contains up to 10,000 micron and submicron particles at up to 50 miles per hour, while a sneeze contains up to 100,000 micron and submicron particles traveling up to 100 miles per hour."
In addition to blocking, quickly capturing, and cleaning exhaled air, Air-Clenz™ increases the clean air turns per hour (ACH) in a room or venue. Multiple highly reputable studies performed or reported by major universities, research institutes, and companies such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), Harvard, Yale, the National Institute of Health (N.I.H.), and the Carrier Corporation have concluded that when indoor clean air quality is improved, not only can cross-airborne infection be reduced, but cognitive ability, productivity, and performance can be greatly enhanced.
Dr. Ron Blum, Chairman of Air-Clenz Systems™, stated, "We are most pleased and excited about the scope and strength of this new U.S. patent. It provides intellectual property protection for any air purifier or Air-Clenz™ unit that is attached to, integrated in or associated with the back of all types of seats, chairs or benches for any indoor venue, such as office, school, theater, house of worship, home, as well as any vehicle, such as automobile, truck, train, bus, subway, ship or aircraft. This patent also provides intellectual property protection for any electronic display screen, such as an electronic display screen attached to the back of an aircraft seat, the front of computer monitors, laptop computers, exercise equipment, gambling machines, etc., where the electronic display screen blocks and deflects a mixture of exhaled air and room air towards and into an air suction intake of an air purifier or Air-Clenz™ system that is attached, integrated or associated. Further, while Air-Clenz™ utilizes true HEPA filter technology, the patent covers all known possible ways of cleaning and/or purifying indoor and exhaled air. We have been most diligent in protecting our intellectual property. The combination of U.S. 11,471,553 and 11,324,850 now provides Air-Clenz™ with solid patent protection. In addition, Air-Clenz™ has numerous additional patent applications filed and pending in the U.S. and around the world."
About Air-Clenz Systems™
Air-Clenz Systems™ (Air-Clenz™) (www.Air-Clenz.com), based in Atlanta, Georgia, was launched by success-proven inventors, scientists, and collaboration partners attempting to solve major global challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic, with an eye to benefiting the global population at large. Air-Clenz's proprietary technology and approach are directed at the quick capture and cleaning of airborne particles from exhaled air before they can disperse within an indoor room and be transmitted to others. The technology can be adapted to work in most indoor venues where individuals are seated, including schools, offices, houses of worship, learning institutions, theaters, and vehicles of all types, including aircraft.
The Air-Clenz™ approach to business is that of licensing and/or selling its IP, after having invented, developed working prototypes, proven and protected its intellectual property.
