The combined solution, coupled with its bi-directional communication with existing BECS systems, provides customers with a paperless, automated whole blood collection system that removes the friction of manual data entry, optimizes each donation, eliminates process errors, reduces waste, enhances profitability, and allows phlebotomists to focus on caring for donors.
The HemoFlow 500 Series consists of two models: the HemoFlow 500 and the HemoFlow 500 XS. Both models build upon the innovation and performance of previous HemoFlow devices that today have a 75% share of the US whole blood collection device market and a commanding market share in numerous other countries. Its customers include the American Red Cross, Vitalant, and OneBlood in the United States and the four blood transfusion services of the UK National Health System (NHS), among many others. The 500 Series devices are the industry’s lightest at 3.5 lbs and support up to 230 donations per charge - the longest battery life of any blood mixer and scale device in the market today. Its large, touch-screen display and intuitive operator user interface streamline the donation process to maximize collection efficiency. The HemoFlow 500 XS provides a range of additional advanced features, including multiple device configurations, an integrated barcode scanner, onboard collection record storage, and robust wireless connectivity, enabling data transfer of complete donation records to blood bank information systems, and the HemoVue data service.
The HemoVue service is an extension of the HemoFlow XS that provides streamlined configuration management and software updating of entire fleets of HemoFlow XS devices and real-time operational visibility into all blood collection data across a customer’s entire fixed site and mobile collection operations. The real-time nature of the HemoVue data service, coupled with customizable reports, turns data into actionable intelligence that supports in-the-moment decision-making, including inventory and manufacturing optimization and staff performance management across key metrics, including efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. This information is further available for other planning and analysis activities.
“As with many healthcare sectors, the blood banking industry is facing multiple challenges, many of which can be effectively addressed through greater automation. Dr. Dennis Deruelle has been selected as the new Chief Medical Officer of Mendota Health and will address the tremendous need for wound care in this country by leading our national mobile advanced wound care clinic.
CHICAGO, January 18, 2024 (Newswire.com)
-
Chronic wounds affect 10.5 million U.S. Medicare beneficiaries. This is an increase of 2.3 million since 2014 and has an estimated annual cost of $28 billion. The management of individuals experiencing chronic wounds poses an economic challenge for the healthcare system, places a significant financial strain on society, and adversely affects both the quality of life and work productivity of affected individuals.
Dr. Dennis Deruelle has been selected as the new Chief Medical Officer of Mendota Health and will address the tremendous need for wound care in this country by leading our national mobile advanced wound care clinic.
Wound care is more than just medical treatment; it is a holistic endeavor influenced by social determinants that shape individuals’ lives. It involves a complex interplay of medical treatment, environmental factors, and individual circumstances. The impact of social determinants of health on wound care is a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of healthcare delivery. One of the most critical barriers to wound care is the ability to access the care. Traveling to a healthcare facility can be time-consuming, expensive, or even impossible for patients. By offering medical services at home, Mendota Health eliminates these barriers and ensures everyone has equal access to quality care. In addition, wound healing is a team endeavor; it takes the participation of the patient, their buy-in and cooperation, to heal the wound. Deruelle says, “I focus my effort bringing the patient onto the team, understanding their needs and centering care around them. I like to enable the individual in that way and create shared decision-making.”
As Mendota Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Deruelle will lead a nationwide group of nurse practitioners to address the wound care epidemic in the United States.
“I believe the actual hands-on future of health care is going to transition more and more to nurse practitioners,” says Deruelle. Dr. Deruelle has over 20 years of experience leading provider groups including having served as the owner of a private hospital medicine practice. “Nurse Practitioners are paramount to healthcare. And my message to them is you’re vital. You’re so important. You’re well trained and you’re capable.” In wound care, nurse practitioners outperform doctors when healing wounds. Advanced wound care at Mendota Health is provided by specialized nurse practitioners. Nurse practitioners who specialize in wound care have a 93% healing rate compared to 67% healing rate for physicians.
As the cannabis-themed “toasted” sub-concept prepares to light up another year of slingin’ dank food and chill vibes, it’s marking the occasion by raising money for the cannabis criminal justice reform non-profit organization.
FORT COLLINS, Colo., January 15, 2024 (Newswire.com)
-
Although cannabis has come a long way since Scott Jennings, the founder of Cheba Hut, sparked up his first toaster over 26 years ago, the brand acknowledges that there is still a long road ahead towards full justice reform for the plant and its common users. Thousands of Americans are still serving extended prison sentences for previous charges of the plant, even in states where marijuana is now decriminalized.
For the third year in a row, Cheba Hut, the cannabis-themed sandwich & bar concept with more than 60+ locations spread across the U.S., is joining forces with Last Prisoner Project to help correct these cannabis-related injustices. This non-profit organization leverages legal intervention, public education, and legislative advocacy in support of one single mission: to set free every last one of the tens of thousands of people locked up for possession of marijuana.
Last Prisoner Project expressed gratitude saying, “We are lucky to have the support of countless cannabis brands, dispensaries, and outspoken individuals who constantly find new ways to help accomplish our mission of freeing every last prisoner. We are honored to continue this partnership with Cheba Hut and continue the tradition of SmokeOut InJustice Day!”
Three years ago, Cheba Hut designated their anniversary on January 20th as SmokeOut InJustice Day and could not be more thrilled to continue the tradition this year! On Saturday, January 20th, all participating Cheba Hut shops will donate $2 of every entree sold to the Last Prisoner Project. This includes both in-shop and delivery entrees.
Last year, Cheba Hut raised over $100,000 in funds for LPP, after being matched by Dutchie. This year, other brands that support LPP have teamed up with Cheba Hut to show their support. The list includes Dime Bags, Native Roots, King Palm, and Wana Brands.
Nancy Whiteman, co-founder & CEO of Wana Brands and founder of Wana Brands Foundation explains, “The Wana Brands Foundation and Wana Brands are committed to the Last Prisoners Project’s mission that no one should be incarcerated for offenses that are now legal. Our contributions alongside Cheba Hut will provide financial support for the people exiting the prison system as well as their families with the goal of breaking the cycle of continued oppression due to the incarceration of a family member. This collaboration with Cheba Hut goes beyond mere fundraising; it is an active endeavor to foster positive change in communities and advance essential social reform.”
Additionally, Wana Brands is donating $25,000 to LPP and will be onsite at certain Cheba Hut shops on 1/20/24.
Brian Loeb, Cheba Hut’s Vice President of Marketing explains, “Although SOIJ is only three years old now, the event has rooted deep into the fabric of Cheba culture through our customers and crews. SmokeOut InJustice is about giving back to the many good people peacefully fighting against outdated legal systems, while simultaneously celebrating the monumental progress that is taking place every single day. In addition to our incredible partners, we'd like to thank each and every customer who drops in Saturday, January 20th to help the Hut SmokeOut InJustice!”
Whether you order a White Widow to enjoy on your couch or grab some homies and hit up your local Cheba Hut to show support, mark your calendars for Saturday, January 20th, and SmokeOut InJustice with Cheba Hut.
